Ruins mod loaded.
The game crashes occasionally, and from what I can tell it's only crashing when loading the tundra biome, although there may be a few more biomes causing the crash as well.
I believe this crash is caused because you have an array, which is hard coded to only take a maximum of fifty biomes. I would personally recommend either making the array dynamic, making it an ArrayList, or by making the default size around 100, instead of 50.
If you could fix this problem, I would greatly appreciate it.
I'm not the only one that raninto this problem. I got ExtraBiomeXL and I get this all the time as well, whenever I'm near a Tundra Biome.
I'm on wnidows and got 1.2.3 server working with Varka's advice. By creating a mods/ folder in the root (C:) I could see (in the console) it was generating ruins. However, it then crashes with the same index out-of-bounds error stated above. I am using Trees++ which adds biomes which (apparently) results in it crashing.
I assume 1.2.4 would also crash but I can't get it working.

+ upped maximum amount of supported Biomes from 50 to 500
+ removed leading slashes from folder designators (no more absolute path enforcing)
I know i can add my own structures but i have to point these new constructions seems to be in fairly good shape to be considered ruins. Love to see the mod will be kept alive but wanted to point that *is a design nazi*

Depends on the template! It works like this:
Chunk is generated -> Ruins checks Biome -> Ruins attempts to find Structure for Biome (regards limits) -> If Structure is found and Ruins finds a suitable place to construct the Structure on (needs even ground etc) -> rotates Template randomly -> spawns Structure as per Template.
Now a Template can define Blocks as "must exist" and "can exist" with respective chances. The original Ruins are therefore quite random, the newer, more complete Structures aren't.

On that note, added v7.1b to fix the Array Issue in the RuinStats file.
Then go to your global config file and decrease the spawning chances (default 75% per chunk)
