Hey Caleb!
I downloaded your mod today and I think it is very cool and I will have a lot more fun with Minecraft with it. I read in earlier posts that you do not smoke marijuana and as someone who knows much about the drug It would be my honor to lend a hand. I have lots of ideas racing through my head which will make a pretty lengthy post if I type them all down so I'll tell you a few of them and you can maybe pm or something if you are interested?
When you take a toke in-game you are under 2 effects, hunger and nausea. I'm guessing you used nausea to simulate the effect of being high, but weed does not carry the effect shown and nausea is probably a better portrayal of LSD. Maybe we can figure out another way to simulate it, by enhancing textures etc.
When someone is high on weed they have impaired movement, so I was thinking why not slow the player down in game, the better the piece (pipe) the slower the player will go, as well as changing the way you look around to a smoother more cinematic view, which can be done in-game by pressing F8, but it would be cool if that was implemented into your mod as well.
Well, hopefully you an hear me out! These are just a couple of my ideas that I think can improve the mod a bit and I hope you take them into consideration and I will be happy to help out some more. Even if you don't like my ideas, I still really enjoy playing with your mod and think it is a great addition to Minecraft.
i would like to respectfully disagree. i honestly like the nausia effect, i feel it simmulates weed quite nice for a game. the way it kind of swirls and such actually dose impare movement by making it alittle difficult to kmeep strait and such. also, the colors thing and textures, not sure how you would make that work without turning it into a halucinagin like substance, that sounds great for like a salvia like substance or shrooms, but not weed.
i personally think the effects should be left alone, ive tried many strains, im from LA, lived in alaska, and currently live in colorado, all these areas are well known for their weed, and im a cancer survivor, so ive gotten a hold of some preaty strong ****, and i honestly can say that in my opinion the nausia effect is actually a decent portraial of what ive expirienced over the years, at least good enough
Ive never seen a problem like that before, the only thing i could say is you either installed it wrong or have a conflicting mod.
Sorry about that. :/
Ill get a signature up for you today some time, im a bit busy at the moment. Thanks!
Alright, well I'm glad I got it half way figured out lol. I'll re-install it today. How long does it take the weed to grow? Like does it have the same growing pattern as Sugarcane?
Also, I saw a lot of people on youtube growing their plants under glowstone. Is this necessary or were they just doing that for aesthetic effect?
It would be cool if you could kinda include some the more detailed stuff about the mod in the first post.

Not sure about the glowstone part but im pretty sure it does... get too many items and just give yourself toke and glowstone and put the toke next to water (im sure you already know) then just set glowstone beside the toke and go caving for a while it should be somewhat be grown by the time you get back

Its the same as sugarcane, so you dont need glowstone above it.
Hey, about the forge thing.. turns out this mod isn't FML compatible, couldja fix that? Thanks if your able to.
FML will need to update first.
They stated that they are going to add villager trading so it will be compatible in the future.
Im considering moving to forge anyways.

And there I lose another awsome mod to forge.
Would all the extra work required to port to forge be worth it considering the plans for 1.4. I assume(hope) that the planned mod api would take over everything done by modloader and forge.
I was able to get everything working. I'm not sure what was going on before, I didn't even change anything lol.
The mod is great - probably my favorite mod I've installed.

Please don't move it to forge, and if you do keep a modloader one.

Full forge is far to bloated and bulky, my pc is quite old(single core) so every miniscule bit of lag adds up fast and the differences become very noticably. Even with the stripped down version of forge that BTW and millenaire use makes the game just playable with occasional stutter and freeze breaks.
My other problem is more with Mojang than forge, the functionality that modloader and forge bring should really have been built into the game a long time ago(this is also why I will not make mods for minecraft, yet), hopefully 1.4 will bring all this and more(??).
