dear, montypylon i was watching yogscast and i swa them playing around with th e gravitational piston with tnt so i was wondering when you will fix tht thanks.
I already fixed it in the 1.2.4 update (current one as of 1/15/13)
Great Job!!! This is my new favourite mod!!!
I have some ideas:
REALLY Sticky piston= brings back all blocks it pushed
Slow (Triple maybe) Piston= goes up however many blocks, one block at a time
Pressure Piston= activates whenever some entity is on it
I saw a video of someone using these as an elevator and that was what triggered me to install this mod, but unfortunately, the pistons just "go through me" when I stand on them and activate them. I can't find the video clip anymore either. Anyone any ideas?
I'm not sure if this is a great idea or a horrible idea as I just came up with it randomly. Feel free to completely ignore it as it might be kind of long.
Some people like to make hidden staircases. But the problem is, the blocks used to make hidden staircases have to be normal blocks to be hidden and it cant be like stairs or slabs since it will be seen. But my idea is that there is a half-block piston. The half-block piston is used to push only half of a block (Probably 2 slabs places in one space) out which allows for hidden staircases.

I don't think that's possible, as double slabs are treated as a single block. The best possible implementation I could think of for that kind of idea is to have the "half piston" transform the adjacent double slab into a "top slab+half-piston" single block, then create a lower half slab in the direction it's supposed to have been pushing. It would be pretty hacky though, and getting it to work with top-half slabs would just be all kinds of crazy.
Hey I don't know if this has been suggested already but would it be possible for you to make this mod work with mod items. Such as redpower's red alloy wire? Atm the wire is not destroyed but stays in its position in the world. I thought there would have been a function or something that tells the game that a block is connected to another, that would easily allow it to work for any item that uses that function.

As an alternate solution, you can use a (at least) double piston like this :
Double piston -> stair block -> wall block
It will then be hidden Of course corners can't be hidden like that but at least it's better!
So a piston that harms or hurts you when extended?
Tha'd be cool! you craft a spike with three iron ingots across the bottom and two down the center, like this:
010
010
111 where 1 is iron and 0 is nothing. You can craft it into a piston, but it can't be sticky. You can also place it as a block to push or pull with a sticky piston. Than you could make that one thing like that animation where the guy pulls the lever and the piston pushes it back and than he gets punched. OOOOOO! you should have a piston that pushes levers and buttons!I LOVE THIS MOD! I thought it was dead when I looked back at it a while ago and it was some newish version and the mod was still 1.2.5, and just today i saw a recommendation on youtube (it was like one of those things where after a vid it shows other related vids on the side) and decided to check on it and was very happy to see it updated!
Hi i think i found a bug , i am not sure as i have other mods that may conflict with more pistons , great mod btw its my favourite mod
when i go on an extended piston, like quardable and i want to push myself up i put a lever and when i click it the piston activates but i it doest push me up instead i stay between the piston box and the piston square"top part of the piston" i really wanted to make an elevator using this any ideas?? i tried putting a block on the piston and stand on the block but this did not fix my problem
many thanks

I'm not sure if I see the purpose of a spiked piston, as you can suffocate mobs by pushing a block into their face, but if you can give me a good reason I can definitely consider making one!
Oh and the mod was on 1.2.5 for a while because I was really busy and couldn't get around to updating it.

Glad to hear that! Yes that is a bug and it is a difficult one to fix. I am planning on re-writing a lot of the ways pistons extend to make them smoother and more reliable to push you up.
would it be possible to change the speed the pistons extend and retract? if it is i highly suggest making the gravitational piston extend way faster, because of the power necessary to launch the player that far it would make sense that the piston itself is more violent
Hey, small suggestion: what about a piston that pulls multiple blocks. because for example the quadruple sticky piston can push for example 5 blocks, but when it retracts only one block is pulled. would like to see one that pulls up to 4 (or 3 for triple and 2 for double one) or maybe even up to 12 (you know, piston push limit) blocks. would make hidden doors easier. and it would have tons of other uses.
Also really good work. This mod is always a must-have on my maps, even though its just a minor mod. it gets not much attention but i would definately miss it if it wasn't installed
This idea has come up many times before, and I think I'm going to go with the glue approach, where you can stick multiple blocks together and push and pull them that way. But thank you for the suggestion! I'm glad you like the mod!

I am going to change the speed of the pistons, but maybe not in the way that your thinking. I'm going to slow down the double, triple, and quad pistons so that each block it extends takes 3 render ticks as a normal piston does per block. This will allow the pistons to actually push you up 2, 3, and 4 blocks instead of getting you stuck inside of them. I'll have to think about speeding up the gravitational piston, but thank you for the suggestion!

What's your take on adding shutter pistons that extend to a maximum of 4 blocks, but are meant to block off an area? Think quadruple pistons, but with solid blocks instead of piston extension blocks.

Yes
I completely forgot about that! Will add in the next update!
