Colorful horses? strange, but if they have a use then I'm fine with it. I have a ton of suggestions:
1. brick walls, give a soldier a brick and he can build a wall, the only team that can climb a wall is the one that placed it, even though the brick is small and short. Other teams try to break it.
2. netherrack dragons and mossy turtles, they are the equivalent of a jet and a tank. They can still be defeated.
3. redtone torches are wands, they can fire an energy ball every second, it also has the melee strength of a stick.
4. coal firebreath, two uses, like redstone and slimeballs.
5. arrow javelins, they can throw them!
6. blase rod swords, they burn stuff.
7. plank shields!
8. blase powder boosts strength.
9. fire resistance, fire won't damage soldiers much so it doesn't instantly kill them, all soldiers have this.
10. clay giants, crafting the normal soldier recipe upside-down makes one clay giant, giants can't use items but are powerful enough alone, they can't be revived.

Giant clay soldiers will NOT be added, as seen in the text on the thread.
Enjoy.
@MergingWhisperer: It IS the original Clay Soldiers. It was abandoned, and now it is revived.
Some suggestions?
. Maybe an AI Boost? (like Biotasm said)
-adding maybe certain soldiers who will defend a spot (like a base)
-maybe different classes of soldiers?
I cannot get this mod to work, no matter what I do.
I have all the latest updates to Minecraft, so I'm on 1.1.0.
I have the new Modloader loaded (I think), and it appears to work. Minecraft loads fine with
JUST the Modloader. The files in the Modloader ZIP I have are dated around 1/13/2012 so I hope
that is right version. I have deleted META-INF.
After I drop the Clay Soldiers files into the JAR (from this thread, so it should
be the newest), I get a CRC error right after the MOJANG screen.

I did notice that it says "FINE: Mod Initialized: "mod_ClayMan 1.0.0" from mod_ClayMan.class"
not version 1.1. Maybe that is the problem, or maybe the version banner just wasn't updated

I hope it is the latest one.
I still had a 1.0.0 minecraft.jar file in another profile where
I was playing offline, so it had not updated to Minecraft 1.1 yet.
I pulled down the old ModLoader for 1.0.0 and the old clay soldiers mod
for 1.0.0 and the same type of CRC error happens on that version, too.

I have the latest JAVA as well (build 30). Windows 7 Pro, 32 bit.
I'm at a loss. Been messing with this for a couple of hours.
Green horses... Make me think cactus or melons, tho cactus makes sense if they're spiky and do damage to enemy's nearby or like other people suggested explode like creepers.
I like the idea of plank shields, and arrows acting like javelins or spears or something could be interesting.
One feature I'd love to see implemented is villagers, say make the white civilians or idle troops have an desire to make houses that serve an purpose as well as the little forts they make now (and make the grey soldiers protect them so they're not quite so useless). I've been playing with an mod pack and the villages in it where I sell my goods make me want an tiny Lilliputian civilization in my backyard! I could imagine mini sheep they could heard for wool to make their padded armor and maybe some boots to make them walk slightly faster or such, maybe woodcutters who poke trees to collect sticks, or tiny miners quarrying stone to upgrade their forts and towns. Someone mentioned bows earlier which made me think of miniature siege weapons that they could use to attack the forts, or possibly even monsters - tiny hordes of clay people ganging up on an lone zombie would be quite an amusing sight. As fun as making massive hordes of soldiers can be, the idea of besieging an entire civilization has its merits as well. Plus you could consider things like "Bandit camps" where enemy troops could try to steal resources or kidnap animals etc. Or who knows, tiny clay zombies pouring out of an crypt!
Keep up the good work anyway, cant wait to see what fun things you add next! :laugh.gif:

I have so many silly ideas for mods and content I'm surprised my head hasn't exploded yet D=
add wagons that a soldier riding a horse will hook up to that soldiers can ride in so soldiers can move to new areas faster and when attacked all soldiers will instantly dismount and defend.

Hello do u think u guys could add like small mobs into the mod so the clay men can kill small cows for leather, sheep to upgrade their armor, and so on and so forth. But i think that wold be awesome to have something like that. And also i give this mod 10 diamonds:
I personally think that bones should be a substitute for iron ingots. Nothing has a skeleton made out of iron -.- (except the Terminators) or maybe bones could act like and upgrade from sticks. Bones do more damage and deplete armor faster than sticks but, they make the soldier attack slower.
Suggestions:
Blaze powder make them burst into flame upon death (or maybe use it to set their enemies on fire)
Bones replace iron ingots or become an upgrade from sticks, they do more damage but attack slower.
Blaze rods can be used as a weapon meant to set things on fire, but limited uses.
TNT can be used as throwable grenades, 1 block of TNT=2 grenades, that only blow up a single block
Soulsand can be used to slow their enemies down
Maybe a craftable mini catapult that launches stones at their enimies??
I agree with this guy
I know where i live O__O
Giant clay soldiers will NOT be added, as seen in the text on the thread.
