Hi again! Here is a bug, grass doesn't grow back. This is very bad because a lot sheep spawn near my house and they eat all the grass. Also can you fix this, the seasons transition message flickers (I turned it off anyways), as well has freezing and burning, it flickers, make it stay instead of flickering, you know what I mean
Finally someone updated this mod :biggrin.gif:
sadly I can't shovel grass, its like using your hands on the grass
its just anoying but it doesn't crash my game atleast>.>
I have some mods installed:
seasons mod(of course)
rie's minimap
modloader(of course)
and treecapitator
I have no texturepacks, what could be the problem, this mod still happened with 1.7 version of the mod
That however is NOT the main probolem, Glitchy gui and such
I'm not sure what's wrong with that, I thought it was my Minecraft being buggy and conflicting with the mods I have installed. I'll add it to the Known Bugs list for Trak.
Have you ever wanted to truly feel as if you were battling against the elements? Then IF IT existed THIS would be the mod for you! -Warning: This mod does not exist, all images were created in photoshop and are not currently available for gameplay-
What would this mod Introduce? :- Temperature The most prevalent part of this mod will be dictated with the addition of a temperature bar, looking somewhat like this.
This bar will be situated somewhere next to the inventory bar. The notch in the middle would move up into the orange area to show increasing body temperature and would move down into the blue to show falling body temperature. In the middle would be ideal room temperature.
Body temperature will rise and fall according to the biome the player currently resides in. For example In a cold area like this forest, a blue tint would slowly appear around the GUI indicating coldness.
On the other hand, in a warm biome such as a desert the body temperature will increase and an orange tint will be applied to the screen.
What are the effects of temperature? In Addition to the heat bar comes the thirst bar.
In normal body temperature and cold body temperature, this bar will fall at the same rate as the hunger bar. To replenish thirst you can drink from different sources. These could include, drinking directly from a pool of water, drinking from a water bucket and drinking water from a potion bottle. These would replenish different amounst of thirst.
However, with a high body temperature the thirst bar will fall faster and every time you drink you will cool down a fraction. When the first bar is empty, the screen will wobble and blackout every so often to simulate the effects of dehydration. The player will also take around 5 hearts of damage and move a tiny bit more slowly and would not be able to sprint.
When the body temperature becomes very low, the player will not be able to move as quickly and will over time slow down continuously until there are no longer able to move, at this point they will begin to freeze to death.
How can I combat the environment? There could be many possible ways to do this, some examples of the ideas I have thought of include:
Woolen clothing to decrease the speed that the player's body temperature falls outside in the snow.
Sunscreen to decrease the speed that the player's temperature rises in hot biomes.
Additional survival techniques:-
•Staying within 10 blocks of a burning fire will slowly increase the player's temperature.
•Player could craft hot drinks and foods to keep body temperature from falling
•Holding a lava bucket in your hand could warm you up.
Thanks for reading all of this, I hope someone thinks of this as a good idea and goes ahead with making it :smile.gif:
-Mulla Out.
Great idea, Except i think leather is fine to keep warm
Oh and also drinking milk could cool you down too :smile.gif:
Why does it say in the OP that we can't just plop it into the mods folder? that's where i put it (purely in defiance >=P) and it works fine?
(i haven't seen a season change yet though, so we'll see what happens there).
Mods used:
MCPatcher (mostly as a mod installer (im lazy))
Optifine
Modloader
Smart Movement (awesome mod)
Treecapitator
As far as I know mcpatcher only accepts ".zip" not ".rar", so yeah that might be the problem
My apologies, i forgot to say that i opened the .rar and compressed the files into a .zip then put that in my mods folder.
it works sorta, what i mean is; i get the mod to work, but in autumn the grass stays the same and in winter, it rains but snow still forms on the ground (but not on the trees... strange)
Other than that, it's fine; deserts in the summer still hurt as well as winters in snow biomes cause frostbite. And i can craft the thermometer and the season watch.

:dry.gif: the thirst bar is a great idea, but the temperature bar is way too cheap, there's a thermometer that's included in this mod, USE IT. The vignette is a great idea too but make in a but less strong (it blocks a lot of the screen). Sunscreen, no thanks, i'll rather just stay out of desert biomes. Clothing, leather is more Minecraftish. Also, way too big of a deal over ideas...
*EDIT*: wait, wait, wait, are you advertising an idea for an mod? Why on this page, maybe say that you should combine it with the seasons mod?
this is so awsome. dudes great jobs! can you make a multyplayer version of this? i and i think more guys would realy lik it. anyways succes if your making more mods
Thanks for reading all of this, I hope someone thinks of this as a good idea and goes ahead with making it :smile.gif:
I like the ideas, but it doesn't sound too Minecraft-like.
As for the 'thirst bar,' I think there is a mod where it adds that (not sure if it's updated or compatible) you could try that.
Oh, and another thing, I go around the pages often looking for new posts, so regular text is perfectly fine too get your comments seen. Bold, italicized, underlined and strikeout can make text look good. Just shrink the text at the least?

After re-reading your mods installed, I've figured out that it's because OptiFine is installed.
However, during the release of 1.4.5, there is an OptiFine Patch, so you can download that and install it AFTER installing OptiFine.
Not every option is able on the config file for seasons then the old 1.7.3 version (like the option when you get to changed which seasons goes next) and also for some reason i get the checksum=0 on other config files of other mods when i have this mod installed (and can you make Autum and Snow biomes more less to spawn when generating a new world since those are the most common season i get
Awesome mod. I've had a lot of fun using it.
Here's my 2 cents on improvement. Instead of taking random damage in the desert during summer, I think the hunger bar should drop faster to simulate fatigue from the heat. This would be better because health regenerates with a full hunger bar, and it would still make the desert harder to traverse during summer. I assume something similar could be done for snowy biomes during winter, otherwise health would simply recharge.
Also, snowing doesn't seem very likely in swamps, but winter would definitely see more rain in this biome.
Thanks! Best one out of the few that I've seen! You show all the features and describe it well, thanks again.
The GUI for random seasons continUasly flashes onscreen in a glitchy fasion and it stays autumn
And my water is invisible as well
I Solve practical problems
It's a bug he's trying to fix; Don't worry.
The invisible water is due to OptiFine, if not then it's an entirely different problem that we aren't aware of.
It's fine, though, he's coding a patch for OptiFine as we speak.

Whoops, sorry. Fixed.
they aren't suppose to be autumn color since there is no support for birch leaves yet
