Wow fairy sla....indentured workers just what I always wanted is it crop dependent? I I give um xies mod seeds will they do stuff with them or is it a scripted action just for that seed type?
Unfortunately yeah, it kinda is. I can try my best to see what I can do, but there's a problem: custom seeds don't have an accessible reference to the kind of plants they grow or the kind of soil they have to be planted on. Someone would have to make a patch for it, which is entirely possible, but all I can really do at the moment is make pumpkin seeds and watermelon seeds grow too. Maybe netherwart.
EDIT: nvm, it kind of does. but the references are private, which is kind of stupid. It would require that all custom crops are based on the original wheat crop. I doubt they ALL are.
Other than this though, more jobs are certainly coming. Fairies can already use bonemeal to instantly grow crops, and the next thing I'm going to do... is... umm... potion brewing, I guess.

Heh. Potion brewing fairys. Kinda seems more like it'd be a witch fairy or something. Also, Do you have to provide the seeds and the water for making the farms?

yes you have to provide water, but it's possible that they can obtain seeds by trimming grass. you should give them a suitable amount to start with just in case. it'll get things going faster. They're not supposed to roam far from their post.
Will all fairies be able to brew, or only the medics? I remember the medic fairy being the only one that can really make a potion.
Well, medics can make free throwing potions but you can't stock up on them. All fairies will be able to use a brewing stand, provided that you give them the proper ingredients in a chest nearby.
I made another new addition, though it's not potion brewing yet.
Instead, it's forestry.
If you place an axe in a chest near their post, your fairies will cut down nearby trees, collect the saplings and logs that fall, and plant them again with appropriate spacing. As usual it's a good idea to set up ther post in a flat area and give them a couple saplings to start with. Keep in mind that axes will be damaged as usual and will eventually break.
The point? Automatic low-maintenance infinite wood generation of course.
Also, Quick question about fairy farmers. Will they breed animals?
Yes, eventually. That is a planned feature.
EDIT: But only vanilla livestock for now... can't make fairies breed custom modded livestock because not all modded animals are meant to have children. However they WILL be able to breed the secret mount I'm adding.
Here's a demonstration showing how well fairy foresters deal with custom trees.
You love teasing us with new awesome features, don't you Kodaichi.
Why yes I do.
By the way, Steph just delivered her first child:
No more features are going to be added now (before this release I mean). Just bugtesting in SMP, then the release. The switch to Forge will come soon after, hopefully, mostly so I can give people options. And then after that, I'll work on the next update.

How big is the radius for a work station? It would be nice to know so they don't cut my backyard trees down.

-fairies can eat snacks from chests to replenish their own health.
-a new post tag "~f" allows fairies to roam further from their post, enabling them to create jumbo-sized farms, like this:
(chests and water have to be added by the player)
Also, Quick question about fairy farmers. Will they breed animals?
EDIT: Forgot to ask this too. Are there going to be fairy builders? that build houses, queens palace, etc.
Yes, eventually. That is a planned feature.

It just keeps better and better. I want to have my fairies!!!
Why yes I do.

Err, no... I haven't really had any time to do that. It's not really my top priority anyway

Steph decided to invite some friends over to help her breed animals.
It was not long before she regretted this decision.
Ha ha, that looks really fun. Can't wait for the update.
