anyways, if you did read that, i tried a third solution.
i installed optifine and then compressed my minecraft.jar again
so that it was no longer a folder and now like the rest of the .jar's
and then i used the installer and nothing installed
even though it said complete.

Argh I have been trying to install this for 2 and a half hours..... I can get the shaders to work but optifine is the issue. if I install optifine before it does not work. If I install it after it cancels out the shaders. if I try to patch using HD patcher it either wont patch or the shaders cancels out the patching. I am running A 10.6.8 mac OS X. I have tried packing repacking and every order I can think of, so some help would be appreciated.

Cant get this mod to work ive read through help articles read the ENTIRE post and still have no idea how to fix this. I have it installed on a clean minecraft.jar with optifine nothing else and my game doesnt crash but when i open a world this happens.
Sometimes it will be a white screen too i can opem my inventory press esc and see all that fine. But the actual game view turns black or white. Does anyone know how to fix this?
I realized that i had an outdated graphics driver so i have it up to date but i still get the same problem. Cant anyone help me?

1. If you mean this mod, yes it works with Mac
2. Your GPU is not very good so you have to lower a lot settings to have at least a near-decent performance
Its works perfectly fine with the water shader but when i install this i get a light blue screen?
And its not that the GPU is "not very good", its just a few years old (late 2008).
I don't know, all I know is that Sonic recommends you to do that if you have problems.
Your GPU scores ~300 in PassMark, my GTX 550 TI scores 1884.
Your GPU's score is 6 times lower than mine.
I have 30-40 FPS with slightly lowered settings running at 1600x900.
I think you can figure the rest out.
edit: If you have a GeForce 9400M (without "G" on the end) then it's even worse. The score of that card is 140. That's 13 times lower than my GPU's score.
So my laptop can run Team Fortress 2 fine and isn't able to run this dam mod? Wow. lol
Omg, everyone just complaining...xD Sonic, new version v08 is working great on my PC! Everything looks the same (to me at least) exept i can see torch and glowstone light, thanks! Keep up the awesome work!!!

At first I thought I did something wrong when the sun rose in the desert because it got so damn bright, glad it wasn't just me. It really makes you avoid the desert biome, but it is pretty accurate!
Is there still no idea what causes the red issue with transparency? (i.e. sparkling rain, breaking animation, etc)
This mod is terrible! I do not recommend it! it made my minecraft slower than minecraft on a laptop at max settings! I HATE THIS. and to tell how bad the lag was, Skyrim runs smoother than it!

But it does attempt to contact a server, seen here from my Comodo Firewall alert:
