alright so finally broke down and upgraded to 1.12.2 and FTB revelations. with most updated forge and java in the twitch launcher. will let you know if i have anymore villager duplications or vanishings. i dumped the 1.7.10 because even tho the potential for vanishing villagers was supposed to go away i was having them vanish even if there were only 2 in a house.
In the .lang file I have noticed both a relatives mom, dad, aunt, uncle, ect. branch of chat, joke, tell story, ect. and a conversation part of the file, which I believe is socialization between two NPC villagers. Cold these be added in the future?
Hi there, folks. I hope this issue isn't an old one with a simple issue, but this is my first time using the mod and I'm not sure what to do.
I loaded in and it immediately crashed with an entity tick regarding steve the farmer. I uninstalled the addon and logged back in, but all my vanilla villagers were gone. So I moved out of the chunk, logged out, reinstalled the mod, logged in, and even though my villagers were still gone, I wasn't crashing and I could spawn them with the /summon villager command. Groovy.
I got a crystal ball and attempted to choose my destiny. I activated the crystal ball and everything went wibbly. I chose my gender, preference, and name, but at no point did the enchanting room appear; just menu options on top of the normal world. The game went wibbly again, and I was standing in the same field as before. I didn't get to choose if I wanted to live alone or make no changes or anything. And no village spawned.
I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, but any help is appreciated.

For starters, are you on multi-player? You don't get to spawn a village on multiplayer. The steve the farmer issue is all over the Github; you can at least make sure you're up to the latest versions of MCA and its required library.

I did some CraftTweaker scripts for Mystical Agriculture. They fill in a couple of small gaps in MA, and also let you make or duplicate not only vanilla plants, but the blocks, plants and wood from Quark and Biomes O'Plenty. Also spawn eggs for most vanilla mobs! The scripts are here on Github.

Thanks for the information! I'm relatively new to minecraft, so I've never had to go to github for up to date mods before; I usually just download them from the link provided by the developer.
As for the multiplayer thing, that's a shame, but I guess it makes sense. Is that documented anywhere? I want to make sure I didn't miss anything else!

Github isn't usually for downloading "up-to-date" mods, though sometimes you can score a debug version. But looking at the issues there lets you know if what you're seeing is a known bug that others are seeing.
For multiplayer -- yeah, new players could just do too much damage with the spawns. The family house is big enough, but the village spawn repaves everything over multiple chunks! As best I can tell, it completely replaces an area of 74 x 62 blocks, six blocks deep and at least to the top of the tallest building. (Tip for SSP: Doing it on an ocean can be fun. ;-) )
The Steve the Farmer thing seems to be some sort of mod interaction; I don't think I've seen it, (though the StF's are supposed to be invisible ;-) ) but many others have.
The big bug that I do see, is that the current (5.3.1) and recent versions, marriage is thoroughly broken. You start off married to "?", so you can't give engagement rings or get married. To fix that, you need to find a cleric and get a divorce from them (not using "divorce papers", but their special interaction menu). Then you can get engaged and married... until you save and reload, when your marriage reverts to "?". Your family relations will also be broken, with incestuous effects.

Thanks for all the help, I really appreciate it. I'm new at this, as you can probably gather.
I saw on the FAQ (http://www.radix-shock.com/mca--faq.html) that I can add or remove skins from the MOD. I tried to use the information on the site to do this, but in the end I wasn't able to make it work. What I did was:
- Extracted the .jar file into its composite folders.
- Went into the assets folder and deleted about half of the skins.
- Added in a half dozen or so new skins.
- Made sure all the names were contiguous (e.g. bakerf1, bakerf2, etc.). I didn't leave any gaps.
- I compressed the entire mod folder into a zip file.
- I added the zip file into the mods folder for both the server and the client folders.
When I launch the server, however, I get this error:
at net.minecraftforge.fml.common.FMLModContainer.constructMod(FMLModContainer.java:534) ~[forge-1.12.2-14.23.4.2747-universal.jar:?]
So I don't know if there is a file inside MCA that I need to modify to account for fewer skins, or if my process for creating the .jar file is off, or what. Any help is appreciated!

Forge will only recognize .jar files.
- To modify the skin, you can not extract it, but open it with winrar / 7-zip, and modify it the way it is. (Make a backup copy)
- Right-click *MCA MOD*> 7-zip> open archive (with winrar should be the same)
- Go to assets\mca\textures\skins\ and edit any way you want.
Finished editing just close 7-zip / winrar and move the .jar into the MODS folder in minecraft.
(It is worth mentioning that, I do not know exactly how it will work, because there is also the "sleeping" skin. When I tested, I just modified 1 skin and it appeared all wrong (with invisible parts and mixed skin parts)).
However, for the mod to work, it needs to be in .jar

Whelp, I've been playing with ver 5.3.1 since its release, on MC 1.12.2. It seems like updates to the mod are on indefinite hiatus, so I will simply make a post of all the major bugs I have been dealing with. I still play with the mod, but trying to actually play the mod in survival is very difficult.
-All villagers have the "farmer" career. When edited with the villager editor, I can change it to what it is supposed to be, but I play on survival so that's an impossible fix for me. With WAILA, the info box shows "Career: Farmer" but the name floating above the villager's head says their correct name and occupation.
-The game starts with me already married. I've found that to fix this, I have to find a priest and just divorce. However, priests are rare spawning (I play in survival). Workaround for this is just trying to find a priest in other villages.
I usually repop a village by curing zombies, which leads to the next issue.
-All cured zombie villagers are invisible and named Steve. I can't find a workaround for this at all, which really sucks because curing zombies is one of my favorite things to do lol.
This final issue is one I have only encountered once. I attempted to replicate it in creative with no issues, but I'm still antsy about making my children do chores in any of my survival saves. Reason being that I once had my child go fishing, and saved and left the game while she was doing so. When I went to load the save later, it crashed. I recovered the save by deleting the child using MCedit, and the save loaded fine. Again, not sure if this was a one-off bug, but it happened nonetheless. I don't have my kids do chores just to be safe.
Hopefully these issues get fixed at some point, this has been one of my favorite mods since I was a kid lol, really enriched minecraft for me.
Looks like the download website has a virus on it. I keep trying to download it but every time the countdown reaches zero it takes me to a unresponsive page and I instantly get a notification from avast stating that the site has been infected with URL:Mal, which I can only suspect is a malware of some sorts. Don't know if there's any way to fix this, or if I'm the only one experiencing it, but I guess I'll just have to wait and see.
So the crystal ball thing works fine in single player. I created a server, and when I try to use it on the server, it asks me whether I'm male/female, what I prefer, and my name. Then it goes all shiny, and there's nothing. The hut with the table never appears.
I've tried resetting my character and trying again, but the /mca rr command doesn't seem to work; it just says it's an invalid argument.
Any ideas on how to help me get my village going? Thanks for any help you can give!
Crystal ball's terraforming features are single-player only. Think about what any random player could demolish by spawning a village.

Call me a weeabo here if you want. BUT somebody must deffinetly take this mod and Gendustry, Mix them together, and get genetically engenieered cat girls. Like, just think about it.
btw if someone actually do this i can help with some coding and design.
Yeah. If I could just figure out why even in a 3 villager house i have a wife disappearing it would be nice lol

My village is getting clogged with people, without me building houses (0 doors - only those who have already come with the village)
I was building the entrance to my mine and when I went back to the city, I had several other people sleeping without a roof.
* I think it's worth mentioning that I killed 2 guards (after I put it in the setup so I do not have spawn guards) *
EDIT: Minecraft 1.12.2 and MCA-1.12.x-5.3.1-universal
Looking at the settings, two things caught my attention (I do not know if there is anything related to this):
Replenish empty residents
It is true that villagers can spawn in villages that have very few or no villagers.
From what I understand from this sentence, my village does not follow this pattern.
History progression limit
Determines whether the progression of the story will occur based on that number of villagers within a 32 block radius.
- radius of 32 blocks from where?
And how exactly does story progression work? What I imagine is the growing volume of people, but I believe that for this you need more houses. or not?
If anyone can help me, I would appreciate it.
Edit: Sorry, i forgot to write in english. i guess...

Is the mod discontinued?
I payed a fisherman to fish and the fisherman only knew how to farm. Still love this mod though.
Can anyone make a mod similar to this, as this mod is buggy and they abandoned it?

Hello, I have your mod which is great, but I am having trouble getting my children to work
I have given them all the tools and resources that they need, placed them near the area thy are to work in, but they just stand there and do nothing.
Can you please help me by telling me what I an not doing to get them to work.
Thank you
