Yeah it works
Thanks for the help guys and sorry for my stupidity.
I'm actually all right at applying mods its just sometimes I can make stupid mistakes like that
for future reference:
putting the thing in spoilers does make it a whole lot nice on the eyes. other than that, you're superior to about 60% of the forum users here.
k huge problem. i try to place water using a bucket and it places and then disappears. this only happened after i installed buildcraft and BTB. anyone know why this is happening?

Not sure if troll, but
Hardcore Buckets: By default, Better Then BuildCraft is set to use Hardcore Buckets from BTW. This makes designing systems that use water-flow much more interesting as it prevents you from being able to place water source-blocks with a bucket. Instead, players must use Pumps, Waterproof Pipes, and the new Spout block to generate water flows as needed. This setting may be disabled through the mod config file, but players are strongly encouraged to try it out first as it makes the various automation challenges in the mod a much more interesting experience overall.
Not a troll. that answered my question beautifully. thank you for letting me know about that little detail. i would use hardcore buckets mode but my base is quite inaccessable to water as it's in the sky... and i'd rather not have to pump water to my base
Well, pumps are pretty easy to make, and it would look rather interesting. It is your choice, though we would all heavily recommend giving it a go. It's a lot of fun!*
Magic launcher solution
For anyone intrested after much trial and error to get BTW/BTB working with magic launcher
1 clean jar
2 delete meta-inf
3 copy btw then btb in the jar
4 add mod loader /mp/ OptiFine all bc modules in order /then vat thru magic launcher
Do not put in mods folder keep all your mods in a separate place that magic will look for
Have got it working for both 1.1 and 1.2.3 no conflicts
You'd think that if the title of the mod was indeed not spelled as intended from the get go, it would've been "spotted" and "fixed" some time before reaching page 125.
Then again, maybe you wouldn't.

It's all good man. People feel superior thinking they're pointing out an error, then we feel even more superior telling them they're wrong, and the circle of life continues.
Out of curiousity, does anyone know if it's possible to get treecapacitator to work with the BTW saw block? I figured out how to add it to the refined axe/battle axe, but I'm wondering if the chopping property can be added to the saw block as well. Would be fun to try and make a tree farm where the sapling growing triggers a buddy block, which powers a saw to cut it down, and then obsidian pipes suck up the wood and saplings while the dispenser block plants a new one! \o.o/

Something along these lines can already be done in BTW even without BTB, though it's a little difficult I hear. Battosay will doubtlessly have a guide to it.

Me neither, but nice answer regardless

...and here I was thinking people responding to the second post of the BTW thread a year after the fact was an isolated phenomenon...guess not.
