It appears that the new map format 'disagrees' with forge based mods (including buildcraft), so it'll be a while before all the bugs get squashed.
But I don't mind, the server I moderate is waiting for a stable development of bukkit before it updates; so I'm stuck on 1.1 for a while anyways.

I'd really be interested in knowing which planet people who think making posts like this is a good idea are from.
I have a fully operational battle station that's in need of testing.
Sadly, it's not just one planet, but an entire overpopulated galaxy. Also, most of the inhabitants are very handy with flamethrowers and won't hesitate to start a war with them if attacked.
Hey flowerchild
any idea when BTB will be out and working for 1.2.3 ?

Actually, no, you just completely ****ed up on the interpretation.
Considering I'm also the author of a mod called "Better Than Wolves", I am obviously familiar with the word's usage.
I can't believe people are really still trying to debate it....
The mod names are pretty obvious, BTW being better than the wolves, and BTB meaning it was better, until buildcraft came along...
People need to stop debating over it, since you're just gonna get shot down by flowerchild...
edit: Forgot to ask: How far are you from finishing the update?
I'm testing things out in a creative world, and I'm noticing that, much to my surprise, while a pump has no issue collecting flowing water that originates from a source, I'm having trouble getting them to collect flowing water originating from a spout (thus ruining my plans to have water multiplication stations where one spout provides water for several pumps :/).
It's so uncharacteristic for Minecraft to honor the physical limitations of matter and energy that I can only assume this is by design.
EDIT: For a moment there, I was afraid it couldn't collect any water that flows from a waterfall.
Turns out that not only does the water need to be natural, but it needs to be a certain height, too.
So there's nothing particularly special about water flowing from a spout and the like. When I dug a short trench next to a lake and "successfully" drew water flowing through the trench, I was actually drawing water from source blocks in the lake that were still in range.
See, the last time I actually played regular BuildCraft was back when you could operate a Quarry with a redstone clock. I've never used engines and pumps outside of BTB, so I keep forgetting that in regular BC, you can actually drain a body of water.
OH it's better than that... Go to the nether and drain a lake of fire!
I would except there's no option to bring the lava into the overworld

Hmmm...interesting. Can't say I really mind not having to update BTB right away. The BTW port was particularly hellish this time around.

About as close as you are to reading the forum rules. The ENTIRE forum.
Edit: In the spirit of Minecraft, this thread needs a daily 'death' counter, only in the form of an "update" counter...and a "then" counter.
Give anything a number and it'll become a high score contest. After that, a sport.
Ohhh...Nix that. Good point.
