And this is your discussion how? This is an issue between me and the thread owner.
I thought parents taught their kids to not butt in to conversations they're not part of. Guess i was wrong.
The OP said you ought to just not use this mod if you have such a problem with with it. If that's the case, what possible thing could you get out of sticking around here? Really just let it go. It's just a mod for a game, it's not worth personally attacking people you don't know.
I asked ONCE because the answer didn't seme obvious to me. I don't just "know" what BCE is, or what the hell the extended crafting table is. And when I ask, generally people give direct answers, not side-step and tell them to "look again". THATS what is frowned upon, people side-stepping. Like you do.
I'm trying to enjoy your mod, I really am. But your attitude is making it VERY hard to do so. It's very well-made, too bad your a raging asshole.
What you don't seem to realize here is just how rude you're being overall, and why I would become annoyed at your behavior. Let me spell it out for you:
-You came onto the thread last night, asking some rather obvious questions, but they were answered in a helpful manner just the same.
-You expressed no gratitude whatsoever for people offering that help. You haven't done so once since you got here.
-Instead, you've repeatedly blamed the source material for you not having figured it out instead of yourself. Your "Steel =/= Iron" comment above is a perfect example.
-You've continued to ask more and more trivial questions despite people here being annoyed by them, instead of taking it upon yourself to look for the answers in the information that has been provided.
So, based on this information, here is what it tells me about your personality:
-You behave with the inherent assumption that your time is more valuable than others. If you can avoid spending a few minutes finding the answer to something, by instead consuming a few minutes of another person's time, you are fine with that. This is demonstrated by the type of questions you are asking, and the quantity of them.
-You feel that it is the duty of other people to answer these questions for you. This is indicated by the lack of gratitude expressed when someone does answer. Gratitude is of course not required, because people are expected to do this for you. This indicates a clear sense of entitlement on your part.
-It is highly unlikely that you will learn from your own mistakes and correct unfortunate behavior patterns. This is indicated by how you blame external sources when your own faults are pointed out. This has been demonstrated by how you blame the source material for you not bothering to read it, or how you blame other people for being jerks when you are being incredibly rude in your own behavior patterns. This indicates a tendency on your part to practice self-justification.
Would you like someone that acts as the person described above? I can certainly say that I wouldn't, and would not at all be inclined to help them out in any way.
Again, I started out very helpful, and have become more and more of a 'jerk' with time. Why exactly is that?
The funny thing about my particular system of morality is that I simply treat other people as they treat me. You've been increasingly rude since you joined this thread last night, and I have simply responded in kind.
And frankly mate, I really don't give a damn if you play my mod or not. As I said last night, given the way you've been behaving, I'd much rather that you find another. I mod for fun, not for profit or popularity, and I can assure you that dealing with you is not fun.
[The] typical pattern is to ask someone else each and every time you wonder about something instead of looking for the information provided.
...is repeated over and over on every decently trafficked forum. It has nothing to do with A person asking A question. It has to do with 50+ people asking the same or similar question, which requires 50+ responses which equates to 100 useless posts. All of which could be eliminated with some benign searching.
If you are an experienced forum browser then all I can say is pay more attention and give a crap about not being up in peoples naughty bits. And for god's sake don't assume someone's car isn't legally parked across the street when you back out of your drive way...just because no one told you and it wasn't there when you came home.
Yeah I never think about the compartmentalized mods, of course they'd have to be redundant.
Edit: Yup, got it all to work TY. Of course there is the obligatory "I didn't do anything different"...but truly I hate when it works out and I don't see what the problem was the first time.
Except for the part where I didn't know what BCE was.
Again, self-justification. You didn't read the instructions, and thus did not know what they contained.
Your fault man, no one else's. Storm quoted the exact section above that explains what BCE means, and from the sounds of it, you didn't even bother reading what he quoted just now.
As I said last night, BTB is probably the most technically challenging mod in existence for Minecraft. It is not for everyone, and if problem solving is not entertaining in itself for you, it is highly unlikely that the mod will be.
Yeah I never think about the compartmentalized mods, of course they'd have to be redundant.
Edit: Yup, got it all to work TY. Of course there is the obligatory "I didn't do anything different"...but truly I hate when it works out and I don't see what the problem was the first time.
Glad to hear it! I have this personal theory that computers have a sense of humor and mess up normal installations on the first try just to mess with our heads! :wink.gif:
There any way we could get a list of all the block ID's used by BtBC? Or at least, what's the last block ID you're *not* using? Sorry if that's already in the wiki somewhere, didn't see it. If it is, could I get a link? :smile.gif:
Since no one apparently bothers to read the OP, I think you should just delete it and leave the download links. I'm sure utter chaos would ensue, but as maxxion has proven, the OP is merely decorative anyway.
Flowerchild thankyou for both the kickass mod and the great comedic relief provided by the forums for both btw and btb its always great coming back from a **** day at school to see someone who appears to be a raging ***** trying to justify his obvious questions and immediately getting put down, if high fives or fist bumps or the like could be given across the internet i would definitely attempt it (attempt as you would probably be busy doing your own thing and putting down said raging pricks)
I know FC tested this so I assume it's me, but I wonder if anyone else can hop onto creative and verify that they can get the assembly table interface to open while powering a nearby laser from a combustion engine.
I just tried that and I get "Saving Chunks" before a crash. I can't seem to get an error message on that so I'm not sure how I can help others to help me.
It looks like this got drowned out by solve-by-reading-op problems.
Anyone able to help out here? Really I think if I could figure out how to get an error message I'd know where to start.
how the hell?!? but... you just did lenses... you're a goddamn vampire aren't you!! you never sleep, you just code all day from your coffin and like... work at night... but that's not bloodthirsty... wait! you're one of those lame new-age vampires from twilight aren't you?! all 'i can save you' but then you go and blame the wolves... it all makes sense now!
but seriously, you are amazing, cheers again for making minecraft more than lego's, and actually a game. you rule! i hope one day jeb actually plays your mods, and realises what a goldmine he's sitting on.
edit: oh and that anti-troll rant... seriously, i'm stealing it. that is so perfectly generic, due to it's observations of critical flaws... and flaws that are inherent to almost all those internet-inept semi-trolls... i think i'm going to merge it with my anti-troll disclaimer. cause i tend to call those people trolls, but they're just semi-trolls, because they're not intentionally stupid... they're just stupid... so it covers all bases XD
Ok, now i am having ice troubles. Ice blocks are forming around my house in the water in a non-snow biome. But only with my most advanced world T___T doesn't seem to effect new worlds. Ah well, it was a nice spot but I wanted to have access to snow that wasn't half a world away anyways :tongue.gif:

Hehe...thanks man. Actually, the 3.0 release of BTB was almost ready when I had a "Eureka!" moment on how I could do the Lens in BTW and just had to get that in as quickly as possible.
So, once I was done that, I just had to wrap up the work I had already put into it, which was just a matter of a few more hours to handle things like alignment of BTW blocks when placed by the Builder :wink.gif:

PS: I can start it without Buildcraft and BTB, so I'm posting it in this topic.
The OP said you ought to just not use this mod if you have such a problem with with it. If that's the case, what possible thing could you get out of sticking around here? Really just let it go. It's just a mod for a game, it's not worth personally attacking people you don't know.
What you don't seem to realize here is just how rude you're being overall, and why I would become annoyed at your behavior. Let me spell it out for you:

I've patched it with only Modloader, Modloader MP, BTW, Buildcraft and BTB in that order.
The thing to note here is that in the Minecraft report Modloader MP is at version 1.0.0,
but I definitly installed the 1.1 v2 package.
Mods are listed in the Minecraft report.
