So here's the deal: you can still create source blocks anywhere you want, It's just more complicated than buckets. And the side effect is that it works in the nether. Here's how it works.
When active, a spout acts as a water source block. What this means is that two of them spaced one apart will create an actual source block in between them, just like 2 water sources does normally. If you put a bucket in each tank, and activate at the same time, bam, instant new source block.
Here's the setup:
The first is the set-up, the second has everything activated, and you can see the created source. The third shows the machinery removed, showing that the new source remains even after you get rid of the spouts.
And yes, as soon as I got this to work I wondered if it would work in the Nether. And it did. Hello Obsidian Oceans.
Also, I'd like to enter this baby under "Most compact abomination against thermodynamics."

You really like insulting things people worked hard on. Like wolves and enderdragons, and now build craft?... Your really positive that your mod is the best now aren't you?

Lol! Now we get the flip side of the coin: those that don't know the difference between "Than" and "Then".
If you had bothered to read the first couple of lines of the OP, you'd realize that SpaceToad collaborated on this man. He's fully aware of and approved the name before-hand.
Also, how you could interpret me spending a ton of time working on cross-functionality with another mod as an insult towards that mod is just pure fail. Poor wolfaboo.

Wolves and dragons took all of five minutes to add.
I just realized something- though I'm sure its been mentioned before: Aside from the current version's exploitation using spouts to make a sourceblock, water isn't really NEEDED in the nether because in BTB we have oil. Oil can be placed in the nether and used in any way that you would use water, such as mob traps or item transportation (Though that last one isn't really as relevant when we have pipes)

That's true enough. Regardless, I've already fixed the ability to create source-blocks and place water in the nether with the Spout for the next release.

Too bad oil doesn't go kaboom what with all of the heat and pressure in there,,,

really wish i hadnt just updated to 1.1. I wanna try this.
P.S
I reccon if your gonna make another one of these compatability patches for a forge mod, Railcraft would make sense
Actually Railcraft would make a lot of sense. Not just that it's a good mod that expands upon a neglected part of vanilla (and is well balanced), but if you remember FC the railcraft author was one of those supporting you during the whole forge incident; and agrees with most of your views on it. So if you ever were to make another compatibility mod, he'd probably be a good bet.
This might not be the correct place to put this, but I assumed that the suggestion thread on the BTW forums was for BTW related ideas alone. Anyway, while working on a power plant, I realized that there is no energy equivalent to the fluid tank. I suppose I'm imagining something like a battery, but perhaps something pottery related would make more sense for BTB seeing as soul urns are apparently an integral part of electrical conductivity ;D
EDIT: Just realized, the co-called "Baghdad Battery" would sort of fit both categories, and is (relatively) relevant, timescale wise.

I absolutely love playing with the pumps and HCB mode. I have a concern though. The pump destroys source blocks, allowing it to drain a pool over time. Yes, if you carefully design the pool you are drawing from, you can avoid this. But with HCB mode, designing that pool is a lot more difficult. We kind of wind up with the opposite problem of vanilla buckets. Instead of it being too easy to make water flows, it's too hard to make and keep still water. In the end, I feel like I'm going to have keep switching back and forth between modes Turn HCB off when I want to put in a still pool, and turning it back on the rest of the time.

I was actually thinking the same thing earlier when some of my pumps died while pumping from a lake. The workaround was for me to fill in the bottom of the lake so that it was only one deep, which honestly felt really lame.
I'll talk to SpaceToad about the possibility of disabling the draining of source blocks when HCB is enabled. I think that might be the best alternative.

Well, I actually view the Soul Urns as somewhat of an explanation as to why the Conductive Pipes can transmit *mechanical* power, which seems to be what they're actually doing :smile.gif:
I think we should start a pool on how long these guys last.
Unforeseen use FC?
As long as BTB is available for download.
Agreed, and added to my list.

I think he said if that worked he would patch it out. I might have misread something though

Doh! Ah well, will take care of that.
Its Arctic, knot Artic.
Lol! Brilliant! I wish I would have noticed that :smile.gif:

Okay good, just making sure this wasn't supposed to happen.
