-Changed Spout so that it can no longer output water when in the nether, and added particle effects and sounds to indicate as much.
-Changed water source blocks to not be consumed by pumps when Hardcore Buckets mode is enabled.
-Changed Hardcore Bucket mode so that lava may no longer be collected in a bucket to avoid exploits involving using it as a fuel. Attempting to do so will result in the player taking damage.
-Changed the version numbering scheme for the mod to avoid confusion with the current versions of Minecraft.
-Changed the way Hardcore Buckets mode is initialized to make sure it is properly disabled if it is turned off in the BTB config file, regardless of the setting in the BTW one.
-Fixed problem with Spouts being able to create water source-blocks when used in combination.
Enjoy! :smile.gif:
Great! Now I can play 1.1 with BTW! (and BTB, obviously)

I dont get this...does this mean pumps can get water infinitely from a single source block?
Also, maybe make it so that attepmting to place oil in the nether results in an explosion. Right now, I use it in place of water in my nether bases!
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Playing since Beta 1.3_01. Yeah. I like BTW. Or used to. Still do. Stuff Technic. (Back in the day...)

Yup. The standard way people build pumps is to create a shallow pool so it never depletes. In BTB, with HCB enabled, that generally means filling in existing bodies of water so that they are only 1 deep. Not only is this labor-intensive without being able to move water source-blocks, it's also counter intuitive as you wind up filling in lakes to get more water out of them.
So, the draining of water has been disabled when HCB is enabled, so at least now you can pump straight out of a lake without having to reshape it to exploit the water-physics, which winds up looking a heck of a lot better. Also, water source-blocks producing infinite water is a standard part of Minecraft. This is really no exception to that.

I've tried really hard, but I can't seem to generate harvestable obsidian using Better Than Buildcraft 1.10!
I've finally gotten a pump, and can pump lava around, but I can't seem to do anything with the lava once it's in the pipes. I can fill up a tank, gather buckets of useless Hardcore Bucket lava out of it, but once the lava is in the pipes it won't come back out again or be useable in any way.
My plan was to pump lava out of a lava lake into an obsidian trough and then carry ten buckets of water from a source pool some ways away, but I'm finding this to be a complete waste of time since there's no way to fill up the lava trough.
Is my only way, seriously, to fill up my lava pool with sand until it's one deep, then hit it with a spout? This is insane, I can't work like that and get obsidian at any kind of reasonable rate.
Sorry I didn't respond to this earlier but I was rather occupied getting the 1.1 release ready.
Harvesting Obsidian for the pipes and such is already really integrated into the tech tree. It's pretty standard practice when using a Quarry to mine out a region, to flood it as it's going so that any lava encountered is converted to obsidian, and then mined as such by the quarry.
So, in other words, it sounds like you just haven't reached the point in the tech-tree yet when you can accumulate obsidian at a high rate, but that point does come down the road.
Flowerchild, or any other BTB ... should I say experts? I was wondering if I am running a BTW world (that I am heavily invested in) if I move to BTB will I be able to continue building upon that world or will it cause some problems?
I'm trying to figure out if I should continue w/ my BTW world and perhaps create a separate bin for BTB world. I'm trying to better integrate some of my systems but would like to begin working with some BTB features in the near future as well.
You can continue on from your BTW world when you add BTB no problem.
Remember you have to add the core BuildCraft files too.
I still suggest backing everything up to protect yourself.
I backup daily.
Yeah, I back up daily / every other day as well. Thanks a lot for the response. I might try and get BTB running, trying to get everything in my base running more efficiently and realized it may be a good time to get BTB as some things may change w/ that anyway.
did install this mod and cannot use a bucket of water to make obsidian nor i can pick lava with it, it this normal or a bug?
Sounds like you might have Hardcore buckets activated and collecting lava w/ buckets was changed recently I believe to prevent an unlimited fuel exploit.

Oh i see, it's my first time using this mod and using on a more or less new world so was not expecting that. Assuming the mod allow the creation of obsidian in a different way :smile.gif:

Nope, same way to get obsidian, you just have to put some thought into routing water down to a lava pool.
You should read the whole OP of mods you're using, Hardcore bucket is explained there.
*squees*
Thanks FC, my Minecraft will be updated as soon as I press post.
:Skeleton:i got all the buildcraft now to btwbtw done now the modloaders turn

That's a BC-related suggestion, not a BTB one.
*stares down*
Oh no you did NOT just do that.
Thank you FlowerChild. Time to update to 1.1!
This kitten is traumatized by stupid. Please stop abusing the kitten.
