I have to say, this mod is actually quite useful if used carefully. I've been experimenting mainly with sucking up lakes, especially underground lava and water lakes / rivers for deeper mining.
I'd like to make a suggestion though: why not a configurable safety hotkey for stopping the bacteria from spreading, as an alternative method of jamming them? The various methods already possible are great, but it's quite easy to accidentally place the bacteria under a block of stone, and before you realise it, the damage has already been done.
You do mention save/reloading as a method but one may not always remember that. :tongue.gif:
Additionally, in the future I suppose different types of bacteria could be implemented with different ranges. Though I feel limiting destructive range to a small radius would be counter-productive, adding new bacteria types with such limitations would be harmless and add to the complexity of the mod.
i think i'll make a jammer item that delete's all bacteria in the world... or like the jammer in a radius of 500 blocks :biggrin.gif:
The Jammer item sounds like a good idea; the current Jammer has a bit of an issue, for me at least, where it doesn't seem to stop bacteria even if it's touching a bacteria block (maybe it only activates when bacteria try to "eat" it?), which only makes matters worse in case of an emergency. If the Jammer no longer has that requirement and stops bacteria once placed or activated, management becomes much easier.
The mod looks OK but I don't think it used on SMP due to usage of giefers that spreads virus(bacteria) all over a map and also ate much of buildings would be needed to rebuild all over from the scratch..
How about a microscope that would see the activity of bacteria using the help of GUI system..
Suggestion (optional):
- Most micro spread faster on water and very slow on certain type of land..
- Snow land area are nearly impossible to spread..
- How about the mutation of micro made them more aggressive like or made them into cheese(the good way)..
- Yogurt is also made by bacteria with milk (as so as cheese)..
The Update style you wished hopefully comes in version 1.5 :smile.gif:
Anybody tested the 1.5 beta?? with id properties file?
Yes, i've tested it and got crash due to this, not IDs conflict. Read it and plz tell me if im doing anything wrong or this mod have some trouble and plus there aren't any IDs properties files generated in config file, hearing reply soon

Nice mod, its very good
I had some ideas for more types of bacteria
Yeast: It only grows when you "feed it" (press Q with sugar) sugar
When you feed it enough sugar it grows
One piece of yeast can be crafted/cooked into bread, possibly with some wheat in that recipe
Big bacteria: (they could use the silverfish model) big bacteria are actual mobs as opposed to blocks
And maybe you could breed them with must or rotten flesh, or maybe they auto breed like bunnies in mocreatures
To acquire these big bacteria you would need like a "magic magnifying glass" or something like that

Kudos on the idea, though, I love it! :smile.gif:
