Hmm, this forum can't handle the special characters that the Swedish language has.
I'm still in the planning stages, but thanks for taking the initiative. I'll post more on this when I have a resource file.
I would love it even more if i could place custom markers to pin point specific stuff of interest with a marker with some kind of text label attached to it. I would just love being able to name towns, villages, roads, landmarks ect. :laugh.gif:
You're in luck. The two features I have planned next are translations and place markers. I may have to do a comparability release (based on JM 1.5) when MineCraft 1.2 comes out, but the next release with new features should have place markers.
So when MCP is updated, I should be able to release JourneyMap within a day or two.
For those of you how use the in-game map, I have also found and fixed a memory leak that happens after you've opened and closed the in-game map a bunch of times. The fix will also be in the 1.2-compatible release.
That's what I initially thought. However when I provided my WAN address to my buddies they were not able to connect, even though I provided the port number and made sure it was forwarded correctly on my router.
At least that is how I imagine it would work, if it works that is.
What doc link is broken?
There's nothing inherently-built-in to prevent what you're trying. Ultimately it's a network configuration / routing / firewall issue. It's probably not a good idea to poke holes in your network without extra precaution, but it's doable.
That said, I highly recommend you don't have other people hit JourneyMap while you're playing. The embedded webserver is sharing process resources, memory, and CPU cycles in the same JVM as Minecraft. There's a good chance you're going to hurt game performance if a lot of people are hitting JourneyMap.
The next version of JourneyMap will be internationalized. If you are fluent in a language other than English and would like to provide a translation, please check this list and see if I have a translation for your language yet. Ideally, I would like two people per language – the first volunteer to do the initial translation, the second to review it and verify its accuracy. (If you want to provide a translation not on the list, just let me know.)
Have you made the changes to allow server admins to disable certain features ala Rei's? I know a few of us have continued to ask for this, because what you have created allows players to cheat on pvp servers.

I haven't released anything yet, but it is on the short list. Hopefully the next release.
Do you play on a multi-world MP server and use JourneyMap 1.5.1?
If so, I have some bad news : Minecraft Server 1.2.1 and later is no longer providing a real world seed to the client. JourneyMap uses that seed to figure out when you were changing worlds. Now that the Minecraft server returns a "0" for the seed for every world, JourneyMap 1.5.1 doesn't know when you're switching worlds anymore.
I have a post describing the problem and a beta of JourneyMap 1.5.2 that uses a workaround:
Not sure if this has been brought up before, I haven't read the 9 pages in this thread. I'm using Journey Map while playing on my multiplayer server. It's has worked fine but since the recent version I'm having issues with it not mapping when I get out to areas beyond x: -12000, z: 3800. I don't know if it's perhaps due to bukkit not having a recommended build or some other factor but I thought I'd report this issue in case you weren't aware of it.

No probs. I've submitted a bug report with the journeymap.log file and a couple of screen shots attached. I had a look at the log and journeymap seems to be throwing an exception (java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException) when I'm at a Z coordinate greater than 4100 or less than -3850. When between -3850 and 4100 the mapper seems to function normally.
> Have minecraft 1.2.3
> Installed Modloader for 1.2.3
> Install Optifine HD MT B for 1.2.3
> Have JM 1.5.1 in correct place
> Start map
> Works
> Close minecraft
> Install Zomb for 1.2.3
> JM no longer works
Any idea what is wrong or should I just go and submit a ticket? I have read over all the help files on the JM site and didn't see anything that applied. And I saw no (clear) errors in the ML or JM log.

EDIT: Net lagged, posted too soon. -.-
I had problems with Journey Map conflicting with other mods until I found a custom launcher for minecraft called Magic Launcher. It helps load mods on the fly so you don't need MC Patcher or need to patch manually. It also lets you load the mods in which ever order you like and lets your know in real-time which mods are conflicting with which. I'm not sure if it will help with your conflict.

Is there likely to be a fix for the blank map issue at positions above z=4000 or z=-3800 anytime soon?

Thanks for the info on the mod conflict. Conflicts are unusual since JourneyMap doesn't alter any Minecraft code. However, you shouldn't use MCPatcher with JourneyMap directly anyway - you should only use MC Patcher with ModLoader itself.
Anyway, I have a beta version I'm testing that doesn't have the &--#62;4096 bug. Hopefully tonight or tomorrow night (I'm on GMT-7) I can make a beta available for testing.
Please update this mod IT IS THE BEST MOD EVER !!!! I feel so lost without it
Minecraft Coder Pack was just updated last night, so I've started the update process today. So far it doesn't look too bad, but some biome-generation behavior has changed that I have to deal with. Hopefully I'll be updated by tonight or tomorrow night.
I'm pleased to announce JourneyMap 1.5.2 for Minecraft 1.2.4 is ready for download. In addition to getting everyone with Minecraft 1.2.4 happily mapping again, there are a couple of nice new mapping details:
Biome coloration now at the block level instead at the chunk level (smoother transitions)
Ice is now semi-transparent and reveals the terrain beneath
There are several bugfixes and stability improvements as well. I hope you enjoy it!
The only fly in the ointment is that I still don't have a workaround for multiworld multiplayer servers. Your maps will still overwrite each other if you are on a server that uses WorldPortal or MultiVerse. I play on servers that use these, so believe me I'm trying everything I can think of to solve this problem. We really need the Minecraft server to make the world seed available again so I can tell when you've teleported.

I use MCP to build JourneyMap. I can't recompile for Minecraft 1.2 until MCP is updated for 1.2.
