I cannot seem to get this mod to work properly: When I open Minecraft (w/ Forge) and load the world, I encounter the message "Incompatibility error running JourneyMap 5.0.1 Unlimited for Forge 10.3.0.1208."
•The mod loads and the mini-map is present, but there is no topography visible (the map appears blank).
•When I select "MiniMap Preset 1" under options, the game will crash.
I am operating under the following conditions:
•Mac OS X 10.10.4 (Yosemite)
•Forge 10.13.4.1448- 1.7.10
•JourneyMap5.0.1_Unlimited_MC1.7.10
•Java Version 8, Update 45
I tried downloading and running off of the Forge version mentioned in the error dialogue (10.3.0.1208), but this did not alter/resolve the symptoms. Additionally, I ensured my versions of OS X, Minecraft, Forge, Java, and this mod are all up-to-date.
Any assistance would be much appreciated, as I've used this mod previously via FTB and love it! The utility of this mod is second to none, as a credit to the creator(s)!
EDIT: I read through the prior posts on this thread and found one other case like this, however the recommended solution (update Java) did not resolve the issue.
Downloading the latest version did not resolve the issue, however it DID give a different error message stating that I wasn't running on Java 7 or 8 (despite the fact that I downloaded this version yesterday and verified that I had Java Version 8 build 45 installed, and that I needed to update the launcher)
I got to poking around on another forum post, http://gaming.stackexchange.com/questions/178178/making-minecraft-run-with-java-8-on-os-x-10-10, which states that the launcher for Mac requires (and uses) Java 6, and that you need to tell the launcher to reference an alternate executable under the advanced preferences for your Profile. I followed the suggestion by user "telio", and now the mod works fine!
If anyone else has this issue running this mod on Mac, I would look into this. Hope it helps! And shout out to RepoDraghon: though your suggestion wasn't the answer, it was because of it that I was able to find the answer. Cheers!
pretty good English, better than most Minecraft players actually XD but you need to take out the "But" and instead of "to" it should have been "can" and between "thoughts" and "reply" you need to add "in a" and then what you said would be perfect

I have the .mca file. Can I just use something to generate the image file of the map, then put the map image in to DIM0 folder so that I don't need to explore whole map?
That will be very convenient.
It seems this mod don't support that function.
Mod "Mapwriter" support this function ,just open the GUI and press R. But mca file of whole map is very big. that is the disadvantage of Mapwriter.
JM uses the server name you provide in multiplayer settings to create the data folder. Special characters are replaced if they can't be used in folder names. If the names you're using all wind up being the same, what you describe could happen.
Look in .minecraft/journeymap/data/mp and you'll see the folders I'm talking about.
Question, I used a chunk loading mod to load 250 chunks in every direction around me. It looks like it worked, but when I hopped in single player to automap this is the result I get: http://i.imgur.com/OfynQu4.png
It seems like automap isn't actually showing all chunks, something I need to do to fix this?
Suggestion
Allow use of mouse-wheel to scroll up/down on the Waypoint Management Screen
My five-point rating system: Yay, kay, meh, erm, gleh
It works there, just... backwards.
How to enable mapping of unknown dimensions?…

The download link in this forum (which is labeled as 5.1.0) points to 5.0.1. Could you [or someone] provide an accurate link?
Or is there another issue at work here?
you have to click on "View other downloads" here http://www.curse.com/mc-mods/minecraft/journeymap-32274#t1:other-downloads

@techbrew
I am a Chinese player,
very like you made the MOD.
I hope you will allow me to introduce this MOD to more Chinese players in the MCBBS.
MCBBS is a Chinese MC players forum.
Please tell me as soon as you think, okay?
I will from time to time to review your response

Just letting you know we're gonna use your mod on our Viper-Craft FTB pack! Cheers and thanks!

Thank you for your suggestion
Journeymap is mapping what is loading into memory.
There's no settings and there's no need for it.
Hey, Techbrew, uhh, hows it going in general?

More like you ran out of available memory.
Also, WHICH mod you've used to load chunks?
I'd like to know too, the server I play on has a limiter to 13 chunks and I can easily do 32...
edit, is it for 1.8 as well?
Also, hows the work coming along on the update to 1.8? I really don't wanna use Voxel more than I have to... No offense to the creator of Voxel...
