If it is, see if you can figure out which mod isn't playing nicely together with JM. Open a ticket to let me know which one so I can test it, and we'll go from there.
I got it to work for now by ticking the show caves option, still pretty dark though. I will go back and see if it's another mod conflicting though.
Thank you for that! I see there's a Galacticraft package. Just a detail as to Galacticraft mobs: JM tracks hostile mobs (e.g. Evolved Creepers) and friendly mobs (e.g. Slimelings), but it doesn't track passive mobs, like Alien Villagers. I can see "vanilla" Villagers being tracked, not Galacticraft's ones.
I'm enjoying the v5 release, specially the Preset 2 Minimap.
Respectfully: I told you this sounds like a bug and asked you to open a ticket. I won't do tech support here, but I'll try to help figure out what's going with your system - it's probably videocard related.
Hi, I recently made a suggestion on the suggestion forums. I noticed there isn't a mod that just had waypoints and deathpoints, and no map. I also noted that it would be nice to have just a compass in the top corner, not a minimap. Could I suggest a config option that will disable the map and minimap and leave the compass and waypoints?
ok, now I am having an issue. Was working great, then I added 2 mods to try .. Chocolate quest and nomorerecipeconflict. Neither should be a big deal. But upon reload it is overwriting the map with black except the tree tops. I've removed those 2 mods and deleted the cfg and folder and it has not come back up. Player icons are working (all I use) and this also happens on the browser web view. Journey just is not seeing the terrain. I'm still messing around with it, but I'm running out of ideas.
Edit, underground it is wiping everything. no tunnels or lava.
*ahem*... sir, it is with great displeasure that i must present you to a tizzy of a crash report. i have narrowed down the causes to be either journeymap or another mod. here is the report

Try deleting minecraft/options.txt , which is likely corrupted.
Also please update your post to fix the spoiler or just remove it. Much spam.

Ok, I didn't exactly figure this out, but I forgot I did have a copy of my complete client side folder. I started again from there and added things back one at a time and it stayed working. I don't know what happened :/
ill fix that post. mustve not have seen it when i posted it my bad
and by deleting the options file, minecraft will just replace it on start up, right?... RIGHT??!!

Right.
Also, I just got alerted to a bug that happens in JM when other mods register null keybindings. The fix will be in 5.0.1, so if the problem you're seeing persists after getting a new options.txt, then 5.0.1 may be the answer for you.

I'm running a small server with the mod and it is causing players to disconnect when they respawn after dying. I'm not sure if the problem is client or server side. I'm leaning toward server side. I can remove it on my local machine, connect, die, respawn, and all is well. Re-add it, connect, die, respawn, get disconnected. The log file says mapping halted in C:(path for dim0 on server). If I remove it on the server I can connect, die, respawn, and all is well.

I recently got a similar report and have brought it to the attention of MysticDrew, the lead JourneyMap Server plugin dev. If you want to join IRC EsperNet's #journeymap, ping Mysticdrew. He's working on the problem and may be able to get you a trial build soon.

Where can I get version 2.6.1 that works with Minecraft 1.5.2? The archived versions page only has MC 1.1 and then skips to 1.6.4... I want to use this with ftb Unleashed.
Thanks for the great mod!
