I trust that this means instructions will be visible soon? It sounds interesting, but I can't figure out how to install it. I just get "Done Loading [IIIIIIIIII ]"
I have a lot of docs and screenshots to update next, but I thought some of you might like it sooner than that. :smile.gif: From the release notes:
Requires ModLoader 1.0.0
New feature: Mapping in the Nether realm
New feature: Mapping in the End realm
New feature: Save Map button
Added more nearby monsters: Dragon, Ghast, Slime, MagmaCube, Blaze
Improved monster icons
Javascript/CSS Bug fixes to enable use of Firefox 8
Bug fix that improves browser performance of image retrieval
Made 2 the minimum map scale until image caching is in place
Added retries on the occasional image manipulation errors
I forgot to mention... by popular request, the default port for your web browser is now 8080 (If you're upgrading, your old port will still be honored.)

Yep, almost done updating everything but the screenshots. The links on the OP all work, but here's a direct link to the Download and Install instructions.
Here's a quick tip: If when trying connect to http://localhost:8080 tries to instead redirect you to http://www.localhost.com:8080, try this instead: http://127.0.0.1:8080 or replace 8080 with whatever port you happen to be using(it technically means the same thing, just written differently).
This is so amazing! Suggestions: have a button in game and have the hole thing built in the game so you press a button and it pops up. have it cover your screen with all the same features just built in the game. otherwise you would have to keep minimizing and opening to see your map. also lags more when you have your browser open. Unless you have dual monitors then I would get this but atm I got rid of my other monitor.

I've been pondering some in-game options, thanks for the feedback.
As for lag, I'm sorry to hear it. It does add an additional load to your machine - the web browser has a fair bit to do with that, and the embedded webserver inside of JourneyMap has another fair bit :smile.gif: Keep an eye on your CPU load and memory usage in your task manager.... if one or both are approaching 100%, then you may not have a beefy enough computer to run both and be happy about it.
here is some idea's
1.do you got the end mapping?
2.add the ability to put they server's map into your single player but it will load the unloaded chunck's with the seed
3.ability to add mod added blocks.
4.a bug to fix here actually if your on a server and they change the map your journey map will still use the old map
5.like on skyblock make the area's where it will just go to void blue instead of black.(oh bit keep it black in the end.
6.when in multiplayer it has the players names above them on the map so i dont have to go to browser and click the player
7.been think for 20 min to make this list lol

A couple of you have noticed you can pull up JourneyMap on your iPhone / iPad as a second monitor of sorts. It only sort-of works at the moment, but it is on my TODO list. If you really want it sooner than later, let me know.
I've had a couple of requests for Spoutcraft integration as an alternative to needing ModLoader. Anybody have any strong feelings one way or the other?
Modloader installs and works fine.
JourneyMap installs and works fine.
I then install Finite Water v5, and the game goes to black screen on logging in.
Restore from backup.
Modloader works fine,
Finite water installs and works fine.
I then install JourneyMap and I get the same black screen on log in.
I'm guessing there's a conflict between the two since they work fine independently. I have no other mods running.
Any ideas?
EDIT: HERP DERP forgot property reader :/
I'll check out Finite Water and see if I can reproduce what you're seeing. JourneyMap doesn't change any core classes or override any core behavior, so there *shouldnt* be any conflicts. But, bees shouldn't be able to fly and Creepers shouldnt be able to procreate.... So, if you don't mind, open a ticket so I can get all your environment info, logs, etc.
Absolutely love this mod. A few people on my server are loving it too.
I agree, the iOS interface needs a little work. If we could just have the ability to click on the options along the top that would be enough for now. Later a proper iOS interface would be nice, but that little tweak would hold us fanboys back for now.

Got 2 screens and this is the bomb, well done!
Cheers,

JourneyMap will keep mapping even when you don't have the browser window open, if that's what you mean.

Delighted to hear it! What kind of machine specs are you running?

Nothing special, just a 3ghz PC, Windows XP, 4gb RAM and a pair of HD4800 cards for dual screen.
Runs smooth as and really is a great help in game, especially when running Millenaire.
Thanks again for a really awesome concept.

If you're enjoying JourneyMap, would you mind doing me a favor and checking to see if your web browser is on this list?

Thanks!

..Live to update..
Yeah, the new cave algorithm in 1.8beta pretty much forced me to tackle cave mapping ... I get lost too much. :smile.gif:
