JourneyMap 1.6 beta 2 is compiled and working for Minecraft 1.3.2. Modloader 1.3.2 is still broken for reasons I can't fathom (one line of code needs to be changed), so I have a patched copy of Modloader available as well:
Quick update, working nicely in single player mode, picked up the old map no trouble.
Used MCPatcher 2.4.1_03 to add patched modloader.
Have added the HD textures, still working fine.
Have added TooManyItems, still working fine.
Waiting for Zomes Mod Pack to update and shall test that then.

On to check server mode.
I gotta say, having great testers makes this process much nicer. Thanks to all of the people providing constructive feedback.
One note on this beta: multiplayer data folder names are in flux. I'm going to try messing with invoking the /seed command on login/teleport/etc and then intercept the results to detect world changes. That code isn't in yet, but I wanted to give a heads-up
Current test on server the folder has stayed at _0 and is mapping well - just been for a LARGE fly in creative mode with no trouble.Just realised my server is 1.3.1, updating and will try again
Seems if I change world without closing and reopening minecraft it is not changing maps completely. Displaying in seperate browser (chrome) appears to have previous world with updated current chunk.

Saw similar in MP.
Yes, this is a known issue because the client can no longer get the world seed to know when you've changed worlds. If you are testing the beta, please get the latest ModLoader (as of Aug 21) with the fixes we needed. Here is a link to an updated beta JourneyMap1.6b3_MC1.3.2 : http://goo.gl/ElakY
Obviously this beta still hasn't got the seed hunting code in as it's still showing this issue.
So here's the problem with trying to use the /seed command. By default, players don't have permission to use the command. So for 99% of JourneyMap users, every time they teleport, login, or respond, they'll see "You don't have permission to use that command" because JourneyMap has tried to invoke the /seed command.
The lame thing is that all Mojang needs to do is provide a unique ID for a world - doesn't have to be a seed - so client mods can tell which world you're in. As I've mentioned before, I asked @dinnerbone on Twitter (works for Mojang) for this, but he's forgotten and won't respond to any followups on my part.
So it looks like I'm back to needing a server mod again, which is going to also mean the vast majority of MP users won't have it available to them.
If anybody knows of a Bukkit command that is enabled by default which would provide something akin to a unique world ID, please let me know and I'll look into that as an alternative to /seed.
@techbrew: I tried JourneyMap1.6b3_MC1.3.2with no other mods in the mods folder and the latest version of ModLoader (files dated August 17th) and it crashes.
You mentioned a ModLoader version from August 21st... where is that downloadable?
Is the version for 1.3.2 out yet? I couldnt find it in the download page.

I used the dropbox link on that page as the adfly one was misbehaving and it worked fine with beta3, maybe clear your browser cache - that sometimes causes issuses for me with pages I've previously visited often :-)
can I transfer the map I have created in 1.3.1 to 1.3.2? if so, what files do I transfer? Thanks!
I'm assuming you're talking multiplayer? (Singleplayer map data should be in the same place, unless you've renamed the world.)
Short answer:
Look in your minecraft/journeyMap/data/mp folder. You'll see "/sp" for single player data and "/mp" for multiplayer data. Shut down Minecraft, then copy all the files from the older folder for your world into the newer one. It is safe to replace existing files.
Long answer:
Look in your minecraft/journeyMap/data folder. You'll see "/sp" for single player data and "/mp" for multiplayer data. Go into the appropriate folder and you'll see named folders for your world names or server names.
Before you do anything, it might be a good idea to create a zip of the minecraft/journeyMap/data folder and put it someplace safe. That way if something gets derped, you can unzip your safe copy and start over.
I'm now able to use the Minecraft server's self-declared name rather than trying to resolve the host name, so you'll see an older folder with the 1.3.1 files and a newer folder with the 1.3.2 files. For example:
minecraft/journeyMap/data/mp/foo_someserver_net_25256/ <-- old way minecraft/journeyMap/data/mp/FooMineServer_0/ <-- new way
If you've played on more than one multiplayer server, you'll want to be careful that you've identified the correct old folder. The data files are actually .pngs with different sections for daylight/night, so you can look at the thumbnails (or open the images) to look for something you recognize and double-check you're copying the right stuff. For example:
(Hey look, I can see my house from here!)
Be sure Minecraft is shut down, then simply copy the contents of the older folder into the newer one and you're good to go. (If you get a warning about replacing existing files, it's fine either way to skip them or replace them.)
There seems to be a slight problem with the lowest zoom level (slider all the way down) in the browser view. The browser window only shows a green screen most of the time. The world map only flickers in every once in a while for a couple seconds at most. All other zoom levels appear fine.
Tested on MC 1.3.2, JM 1.6b3, latest Chrome and Firefox, the mapped area is about 2,500 x 2,500 blocks.
Check Firebug or Chrome's debug console for javascript errors. Also check journeyMap.log for errors. If there are errors that seem to be related to that zoom level, please open an issue:
If there aren't any errors, your system may not be able to handle how much JourneyMap is trying to throw at the browser before the next update cycle. Try increasing these values in journeyMap.properties one at a time:
- browser.poll
- update_timer.chunks
- update_timer.entities
(The values for all three are designated in milliseconds. Start with bumping up browser.poll to 4000 and see if that helps.)
JourneyMap not work with Forge?
the mod not loaded
I haven't tried to use Forge, but the Forge folks say any Modloader mods *should* work. This is on their forum homepage:
If you have a ModLoader mod that does not work with FML/Forge, *TELL US*, and we will fix it immediately. We *NEED* the ForgeModLoader-client-0.log, so post it here!
If you want to pursue that first step with them, let me know how it goes and the fix might be easy.

Was the bug you had in the last ModLoader fixed for the 1.3.2 version?

Oh, and this version now has a German translation. Thanks to the many Deutsche friends of JourneyMap who contributed!

All maps for MPServer currently going into directory _0
Interestingly the glitch that used to affect TooManyItems and cause server time out errors seems to have been fixed somewhere as well
I'll see about adding the new Modloader and JourneyMap 1.3.2 in the morning to test things out.

It's working well otherwise from what I can tell, have modloader installed with WMLL, Zomes mod pack, and Too Many Items.
All playing nicely and mapping whilst flying at speed modifier of 7! both in single player and on a 1.3.2 vanilla server.

That one at http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/75440-v132-risugamis-mods-preliminary-updates/ still gives you the August 17th files via the Adfly link.
