dude you have to make the shotgun have a spread their is a gun creator that can do that it is in mods or wip mods but i forget the guys name please do this, and if you can't fix it at least make the one bullet accurate

ok just want to say i ****ing love this mod the sounds the guns need a little work make the shotgun little more like the halo shotgun and i just love it now u just need to make the armor and when u put on the helment make it show the shields and heath bars that be epic but thank u for making a awsome mod im a fan of the halo games so i give u this many diamonds.

Yea, i was pushing to get this mod out so as soon as i got to the shotgun, i thought maybe have the bullets really inaccurate so u cant hit mobs/blocks far away. and the shotgun doesn't have a magazine, but the quickest/easiest solution was to do wat i did...thanks for the feed back :smile.gif:

while i am useless as far as coding goes, would you like any skins (for Elites, grunts, marines, ODSTs, Spartans, etc) or textures (i have a very successful halo texture pack, it includes weapons for tools, though i am making more right now) for your mod?

might get into trouble if i use music out of the halo soundtracks because you are suppost to buy them...also im working on the server mod...slowly
iChun used Portal's sound effects and music in the Portal mod. and he would be a much bigger target than you. so i would think its safe. besides, you can always just rip the music (a lot of people will do so)
Ah I've been wondering when someone was going to do a mod like this. The textures I can live with, and the mod in general looks really awesome!
Like my good friend Camo7 here, I too run a pretty popular Halo skin thread. If you want I could lend a hand on some gun textures or any help with other textures in fact, let me know.

This is great! It's nice to finally see a Halo mod that doesn't totally focus on the mobs. However, there are some problems I run into with this mod. Here's some constructive criticism:
Don't have recoil.
Especially on the sniper. There's no recoil in Halo, so the recoil here just sorta throws off the feeling.
Make the magnum more like the Reach/CE magnum.
The Halo 3 magnum would work, but the little damage it does in the mod just makes it underpowered. On that topic...
Make the weapons do more damage.
I can understand making the weapons not too powerful on the grounds that it would just be a slaughter, but the problem is that it feels like I'm shooting plastic balls. The shotgun takes two shots to kill, when it should take one, and the other weapons need a bit more of a buff as well. I'm sure there can be a balanced compromise somewhere. One thing you could do is decrease the bullets' range on the shotgun (as a test, I tried shooting an Enderman from a decent distance, and managed to hit it).
Improve the hit-detection.
The hit-detection is ridiculous. I can only hit something like 40% of the time, and combined with the above issue makes it unreasonable. I think I spent a whole sniper clip on a spider and couldn't hit it. This may have also been due in part to the recoil issue, but it was mostly due to the detection.
Make the ammo stackable.
The ammo clips, as they are short, are expended quickly. That, in combination with the fact that there are many weapons to choose from, makes you have to have about half an inventory full of clips for at least two weapons. Maybe put them in stacks of 7... to be balanced and relevant.
All in all, this is a great start and can't wait to see how it improves over time. One thing I hope to see in the future are Flood mobs in the Nether--that'd be great and appropriate.
Also, I believe you can use the Halo music license free, as they are under Microsoft's Game Content Usage Rights.

Thanks for the awesome feedback, I knew about those problems like the hit detection but I didn't find how to fix it so i just left it.
I had an idea about the magazines though but I haven't tried making it yet, also the shotgun needs alot of work to it.
Really the first release was to show i was actually making this, and not to make it completely perfect because then i could get more feedback from people like you.
