I somehow can't seem to make the oil for the wood tracks.
I know you should be able to make it in the furnace if you cook coal or charcoal but it doesn't seen to work.
I placed coal or charcoal in the upper part of the furnace and heating material in the lower part but it seems to do nothing as if the receipe wasn't there.
I tried with other stuff from the mod and they work fine. I made stone ties without problem.
Neither the client nor the server show any confilcts or problems.
Am i missing something?
I use craftguide for the extension and except for the oil every receipe is visible.
I also use buildcraft 2.2.7 , infini items and Mine Factory reloaded. All seem to work fine. Am i missing something?

Since I cannot reproduce the issue, I assume its a conflict with another mod. You'll need to follow the support procedure on the wiki before I can provide more assistance.
error (Railcraft Client 2.0.2):
(This error does not occur when railcraft2.0.2 and its prerequisites are the only installed mods. it did not occur in 1.8.1 versions of all used mods. its likely a new kind of incompartibility with a 1.0 mod, likely with OptiFine_1.0.0_HD_S_A .)
All new rail types are invisible when build in game while being visible in the inventory. All buildable signals have messed up textures, grass/shrubs everywhere, pumpkins on top. regardless of texture pack.
Every time I've gotten that, it's been a problem with Forge getting overwritten by something else. Could that be it? I had that problem when I installed Optifine after Forge.
I have a suggestion. I used Minecart Mania, alot. And it's similar to RailCraft. Except RailCraft doesn't have Sign Commands and a Cart Call block, and a Cart Destroyer block. But Sign Commands aren't needed with those control blocks (from what I've seen on the videos).
I noticed in your planned features, you're planning a Minecart Dispenser to hold up to three carts. Three doesn't sound enough for a busy SMP server that relies on its transit system to get around. Not that mine does, but I like to pretend it does. Heh.
Minecart Mania started off by having a chest full of minecarts, and running a redstone current to it (not sure if this is the way it was done, but it makes sense) would cause a minecart to pop on the track infront of the cart. Then you could put a powered Boarding Rail or something else from RailCraft infront of that to launch the cart down the track to where you need it to go.
Make a Cart Call system for automated stations, with a simple push of a button or Pressure Plate. Without the need of a complicated, large cart launch system.
As for getting rid of Empty Carts, the same chest used to summon a cart could be used to put the cart back in when not powered by Redstone. Make like a looped track with a Detector (Empty) block, and a switch that would, hopefully, automatically get empty carts off of the line and send them down a loop to the chest.
What do you say? Sound promising? Not sure how hard it would be to code, but MM did it.
Something like this;
The Redstone isn't going to work because it isn't under the Chest, but you get the idea. It's just an example. And I'm sure if those Detector blocks had some Redstone powering them (maybe adding some control blocks as well) they would switch the track to allow Empty carts onto the looped track, while carts with the player in them continue on to the next station.
Noticed Forge wasn't on the list of mods loaded. Do you have it installed?
Edit: It looks like you're missing the class file minecart/IMinecartHooks, which I'm pretty sure IS part of Forge. If you do have it installed, try starting over.
Oh, you were right, I was missing forge, lol, thought it was installed. :laugh.gif:
Edit: After installing forge 1.2.0, it still says I didn't install it...

OptiFine_1.0.0_HD_S_A is outdated, I'd suggest trying OptiFine 1.0.0_HD_S_B2.

I think what you describe should be possible with the Minecart Dispenser. And limiting it to storing three carts was a design decision that I spent a good deal of time agonizing over. If you need more storage, it should be possible to chain them or even easier you could build a system using two Minecart Dispensers, a Loader, an Unloader, and a Chestcart that could store many minecarts.
Additionally, they can be placed next to, under, or above the rail.
EDIT: I just built a working system (as described above) that can store 90 minecarts even though the Minecart Dispenser can only hold three carts. Building such a system would be possible using Buildcraft as well.
any guess on how long for bukkit 1.0? i only ask because vanilla server is already up
Don't ask me, you'll have to go ask at MC Post Central. I tried making the bukkit port myself once, but got totally lost. So I decided to them handle it. =P
They were probably waiting for me to iron out the bugs first, but 2.0.2 should be stable enough for a port.
EDIT:
Actually it seems they are waiting on Bukkit and haven't even started porting ModLoader or Forge yet.
This, and buildcraft you just drop there various .zip files in the mods folder
I forgot to mention to you not to forget the MCL patch (from railcraft op)
i have the patch and i had to in order to get buildcraft to work i had to put each and every last .class (of buildcraft) into the .jar itself build craft is working fine (altho the engine things have missing and the gui) but the railcraft isnt

When you put the mods in the mods folder did you open them at all? if you did you failed, you simply drag what you downloaded into the mods folder.
Start over from a clean jar, and try installing buildcraft core on its own. Once you manage to complete this I will continue to walk you through the process - if you need different wording or are confused feel free to ask.
Once you've managed to install buildcraft core using the mods folder, hopefully you will understand how the process works and will be able to continue installing buildcraft/railcraft - and other mods without conflict or confusion on your own, but i am here if you need help. I provide this sort of support on my thread all the time (or would like to start to)

If you don't mind using a fresh copy of the game:
1) Run your Minecraft client, choose Options -> Force Update. Login and let it download the latest minecraft.jar.
2) Open your minecraft.jar with WinRAR and delete the META-INF folder. Keep minecraft.jar open.
3) Open ModLoader with WinRAR and select the contents. Paste the contents into your minecraft.jar
4) Open ModLoaderMP with WinRAR and select the contents. Paste them into your minecraft.jar
5) Open Minecraft Forge with WinRAR and select the contents. Paste them into your minecraft.jar
6) Open the Minecraft Compatibility Layer Client 3.0 with WinRAR and select the contents. Paste them into your minecraft.jar
6) Copy the BuildCraft zip files into the .minecraft\mods folder. Do not unzip the individual files (core, builders, etc).
7) Copy the Railcraft zip file into the .minecraft\mods folder. Do not unzip it.
8) Close all files and run the game
Hopefully that's most of the bugs. Running out of things that haven't been tested. :wink.gif:
This version is SMP tested for Buildcraft 2.2.7. Wish Spacetoad would quit changing function names in the API though.

reinstall forge, ontop of everything
If you have optifine, install in second (don't uninstall anything, make a backup of your jar before making any changes)
should i install this or buildcraft first? or just re-install forge?
