if i really need pipes, is there a way to only get the needed pipe?
I have a compatibility-based question, is it possible to have railcraft register the Traincraft stake as something to link minecarts with? I was trying to figure out how to put Traincraft cargo carts on the back of my trusty TBM (For more inventory space with less entities... Less lag that way.), but it didn't work, as I couldn't use the stake to link the carts to the TBM, and I couldn't use the crowbar to link the TBM with the carts...
Quote from the first page: Singleplayer Commands - If SPC is installed you may be unable to break minecarts and Bore Heads break instantly. Seems to be related to commands such as /instantkill and /itemdamage.
Does anyone know if this issue is still relevant for the latest version of railcraft? I plan on installing SPC and World Edit, but I'm hesitant to do so for the above reason.
Just upgraded to 1.4.5, minecraftforge-universal-1.4.5-6.4.1.436, and all steam engines are shaded very dark and do not connect to anything. GUI works, power output not. I can however load them with steam. Anyone has a clue? Screenshot attached to show the problem.
Why doesn't anybody ever read the previous posts? This was answered in post #4985 on the page right before this one. (I like your pyramid in the background.)
Perhaps a tab similar to the ones in Thermal Expansion and Forestry?
Seeing as I'd either have to roll my own or make RC open source, unlikely. The tab system is the cause of bad blood between Sengir and Lemming and I'd rather not get involved.

The only machines in Railcraft that actually require another mod is the Energy Carts and Energy Loaders.
Could you possibly make it so that machines that require power to run can be run by IC2 energy?
Naw, I prefer BC power, its less exploity (if you don't count a certain mod with the initials TE). And everyone would yell at me if I made the Rolling Machine draw 25 EU/t with a 1 EU/t idle anyway.

Crowbar should already work with on any cart.
What prevents you from adding a config? Or perhaps support for both types of energy?
This causes a major problem for people that don't like buildcraft and still want to be able to run rolling machines by energy...

His mod, his choice(s). Railcraft's always been the most interactive with BC.

It actually doesn't though with Traincraft carts. It does shows that the TBM can be linked to & prompts me to click on another cart to link them, but it give no message for when I click the Traincraft cart. Although I am only on 6.8.0.0, so is it just from me being behind a few versions, or is it a legit bug?
Edit: Never mind, it turns out that Traincraft carts are simply picky on where they need to be clicked...
Edit2: Unfortunately it doesn't deposit items into the Traincraft carts...
You didn't even try to look for that answer on your own did you? Two clicks later you would have found this:
Mod Packs
If you wish to include Railcraft in a mod pack, you should know that CovertJaguar will by no means allow you do so if you intend to earn revenue from it. This is not permission to include Railcraft in a mod pack. If you fail to get permission, CovertJaguar will use all means available to get your mod pack removed from the Internet.
You are required to provide a link to a publicly posted permissions list for all the mods currently in your modpack (images of PMs, posts by devs, etc...).
Requests without proper background information (links, name, theme, descriptions, other mods, expected user base, etc...) will be dismissed off hand.
If you do receive permission you will not be allowed to use the latest series of Railcraft (versioning system being <major.series.revision.build>, ie 3.3.1.0) until a new series is released or one week has passed since the last revision was released. This is to protect the users from unstable versions.
Permission to use future versions may be revoked at the discretion of CovertJaguar, but will only occur if it is deemed necessary for the health of the mod. Otherwise permissions are considered to be valid for past, present and future versions unless otherwise stated.
Okay, I was watching Jadedcat twitch streaming on Forgecraft and it appears that anchors will be fueled by Ender pearls.
Are those RC anchors or chickenchunk anchors? And if so, is this a sure thing or is this just something you're playing with, CovertJaguar?

Item transfers are handled by a custom interface that is included in the Railcraft API.

Yep, it will be in the next release (which is "soon"). You will be able to set the duration of each pearl or disable the feature entirely via the config. It was requested by a number of server admins. I also went the extra mile and made it so breaking a World Anchor or Anchor Cart doesn't reset the fuel counter. It even adds the remaining duration to the item tool tip.
I'm having a problem with the steam engines. I hooked up two industrial steam engines to a quarry, only to come back to find that they had blown up! Turns out, even though the industrial steam engines put "some" power into devices, the vast majority of the power from industrial engines stays inside of the engine, causing them to quickly overheat then explode if left on.
When I say "Hooked up" I mean I put the engines right on the quarry. I've read there was a pipe issue, but apparently all of the engines in railcraft just aren't working right now.
My questions is, is there an update or a fix out to make the steam engines work again? If not, are there any fixes or workarounds for this? Currently I'm running FTB Magic World.
EDIT: Alright, I've found a work-around. A redstone energy cell from thermal expansion will conduct the engines output to all adjacent devices, letting you interface the industrial engines with something. Regardless, this is a bug that should be looked at, and if there is a way to resolve this issue without having to resort to an additional mod, I'd love to know.

no religion only hope, no stupidity only knowledge in training.
top middle: minecart,
middle middle: (iron) door
bottom middle: minecart
makes a monorail cart,
also: inverted railway track
to get a suspended train!
what is the purpose of that? aesthetics only?
Why must it have a purpose? Aesthetics are good. Look at the concrete, concrete posts, wood posts, metals posts....those are in there for aesthetics.
I've been wanting a monorail and/or suspended rail system myself. I even made that request a few days ago.
ok, but maybe the true purpose should be: tracks that can be placed like pipes from Buildcraft
I got izzet and mtg is baws. it pwns. real hard.
