First off, language. Secondly, a nice guy by the name of GunnarKelley has been looking in to updating it. The problem stems from Hippomaster's license, which, unlike the license for Twilight Forest, has not been updated in ages.
Indeed, very excited to see this heading to 1.11.x and 1.12. We've recently moved to Sponge to replace Bukkit and this is very exciting. Sponge, so far, seems more solid and optimized than things were previously on Bukkit.
Stuck on 1.7.10 for the foreseeable here so I don't care about 1.11/1.12 etc. But I do want to see that last dungeon finished and any extra content beyond that is just gravy
All the work being done that I've seen on github is for 1.10 or higher.
There was some work done for 1.7 that was put on github by Benimatic that was not compiled. I haven't gotten around to testing it (some work-in-progress has been done, so there may be new bugs in it), but part of the fixes include a fix for the swamp colors that crashed Reasonable Realism.
(In regard to a mod that gives realistic animal genetics):
Would you really rather have bees that make diamonds and oil with magical genetic blocks?

Hopping in here to bring people up to speed who may be unaware of the status of the mod and only get their info from this thread.
It is being ported to 1.12, no not 1.11 not 1.10, straight to 1.12. It's very very close to an actual release, i'd say around 95-99% complete.
There is a Discord server you can join where you can find all the info you'll ever need on the port, progress, downloads, and so on.
We have public dev builds ready for testing, we have a build server that generates a new dev build everytime one of us pushes code, it'll also send a message over to one of the channels of the discord server so you can stay up-to-date. If you don't want to join the server, that's perfectly fine. You can find the latest dev builds here. (Click on Universal at the bottom to download the jar)
If you find any bugs, feel free to send reports over to the issue tracker here.
Final Notes:
1.12+ is compatible with CTM (Connected Textures Mod), I highly recommend you use this mod as it makes everything in Twilight Forest pretty. Totally optional, you don't need it.
1.12+ is NOT compatible with Optifine (Few bugs such as Maps going totally blank and not rendering at all)
Been testing out the 1.12.2 version of the mod and loving it! it seems that the latest version IS compatible with Optifine, I noticed a few other mods for 1.12.2 have compatibility with this as well, which is very nice! This was definitely worth the wait to have back again!
I think that the "incompatibility" warning is more of an "no compatibility with Optifine is guaranteed" warning.
There was a known issue where optifine was causing the maps to not render and a few blocks in the mod as well were rendering incorrectly with optifine.

Twilight Forest 1.12.2 => tested with other mods as Ruins, Voxel_Map, PetBat and Optifine : ALL WORKS VERY VERY GOOD !! SO HAPPY !!
Well ^^ No bugs for the moment, i test in creative mode and explore all the map, all biomes : this is all good and it seems to work very fine, congratulations for this job guys, my favorite mod is back !!

Thus far I haven't had any major issues with compatibility in the versions of TF and Optifine that i have been using.
For reference, I am using OptiFine_1.12.2_HD_U_C6 As well as twilightforest-1.12.2-3.2.155-universal
Maybe I missed something in a previous version? Either way it seems to be working and I'm satisfied!

On 1.12.2 Mo Creatures is making a bunch of hostile mobs spawn in the twilight forest..Is there a way to fix this?

Oh, i used mo creatures in 1.7.10 with the twilight forest and i never had spawn issues its just in 1.12.2 that this issue happens
