After doing some testing, I have concluded that there IS still always loaded spawn chunks even with SSP ON.

The olddays mod is dead, sorry to tell you.
The far lands generation was epic, why not re-add it?
If Facebook, Myspace, and Twitter were all destroyed, 90% of teens would
go insane. If you're one of the 10% that would be laughing at them,
copy & paste this into your signature and hope it happens.
Yeah 1.7.2. I think some are available for 1.7.4 and 1.7.7 etc.
But don't you need MCP for decompiling?
You can decompile manually using JAD or Fernflower (MCP uses those as well).
However, MCP also deobfuscates the source. Without deobfuscation you will get code with meaningless names like "ck" or "ae" or "vl". For small mods it's OK, but in case of SSP and OldDays it will take a VERY LONG time to update it like that. Probably much longer than it takes for Mojang to release new major version.

Any news about the mod? I noticed there is now a stable for 1.6.4

One of them was full OldDays in Multiplayer including SMP servers.
Yes, in 1.2.5. I said many times that I don't have enough resources to keep both standalone server and 1.3+ singleplayer versions, since the latter is much larger than 1.2.5 SSP and SMP versions together. Additionally, the client version heavily depends on SSP, so that's an additional barrier.
Remember that the most important part is SSP. Start with implementing it with Forge.
I was starting off planning on doing the Indev generator first, but I will try to rebuild SSP in Forge first and do the OldDays stuff later if my first attempt fails, hehe.
EDIT: Success for a basic Indev floating map worldgen!

P.S SSP is hard to implement.

I'm still, rather stupidly, trying to charge in and do all the old worldgen stuff without SSP, and something in the world generator for Indev is failing on me and making it impossible to switch to custom grass/leaves with the old textures.

I'm on the CSM team, but I've retired from Minecraft modding for the most part. I made Cliffie's Goos.
I'm an old-timer, been around since Alpha. MC: Windows 10 edition is like the uncanny valley, almost modern Minecraft but off in every way.
I have an XBox tag, but only because I needed one to try the Windows 10 version. I don't have an XBox.

Well, try to implement SSP. Generators should be easy on their own... But does your Indev generator have real boundaries on -128 Y coordinate? IDK whether that's possible to implement with Forge at all...

My UA on laptop: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux i686; rv:27.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/27.0 SeaMonkey/2.24 Lightning/2.9b1; I use Ubuntu 13.10 here.
And on desktop: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686; rv:20.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/20.0; Here I use openSUSE 12.2.
I really don't like chunk boarders.

But if MCP doesn't update to 1.8 anytime soon, will you still update the mod to 1.7 or just wait?

I have been with this mod for a while and seen bizarre bugs.
One of them was full OldDays in Multiplayer including SMP servers.
It is very unfair though!

SSP…
He's sad because the author isn't using the epic API known as Forge.
I'm getting ticked off by this myself, as I know and use Forge for all my modding, and Forge is what 99% of mods use.
I'm planning on making a mod that does some of what Olddays does in Forge, because Forge is better then base-class modding.
I'm on the CSM team, but I've retired from Minecraft modding for the most part. I made Cliffie's Goos.
