I'm going out on a limb here, but I'll try answer it.
It sounds like it might be an incompatibility with an existing mod. List all installed ones and see if we can find out what caused it.

Also, if you don't have anything important on your .jar, just force update and install the latest ModLoader and the latest Rei's Minimap, then add your existing mods one-by-one.

If you only had those two installed, then I don't know.

I made LoginMessage mod for minecraft official server instead.

@ Camt: Thanks for the advice. Found out and confirmed that Kaevator's CCTV mod is not compatible with this mod. Just realize it after ReiFNSK mentioned about CCTV mod causing the issue.

I first saw your map mod about 2 weeks ago, and at that time i was using the zan map, but then i thought 'why not give it a go'. now i use ur map all the time.
Unfortunatly, i got the aether mod, meaning i had to revert to zan's map so the minimp would work there.
I wish i could use urs, and hope that you can/will add aether compat...

Actually, maybe have a config file where users can register their own colors for block id's and change colors for existing ones!
maybe set up something like so:

#Blockid-------color(hex)
122=#ffffff

then it would be compatible with ALL mods XD

It should work with The Aether. Works with mine.
Download the newest Rei's Minimap and try it.

I just cant seem to get this to work. I installed mod loader, put the mini map mod .zip in the mod folder and it shows up in the texture packs menu but the actual mod doesnt work in game.

is there a way to make this compatible with Aether blocks?

First off GREAT mod. I love it!

Two things... One is a bug: when you die on a SMP server that has entities enabled, the options and entities disappear from the menu and map.

Also would it be possible to get the source code for this mod. I love the mod and would like to play around with it as well as make it so that it works with other mods that I use and remove the requirement for modloader. Thanks in advance.

I will probably keep changes to the code to myself unless you want them or I have permission to redistribute and I will always give credit to you.

The patch is not necessary for work.
please use modloader and put minimap zip file on .minecraft/mods folder.
