It would be but I can edit the file by hand with notepad just fine. Have you ever seen this error before? I am playing single player on the crash landing mod pack.

I went from 3G to 5G memory and from the embedded twitch 1.8.0_25 java to 1.8.0_120 and haven't seen the crash again. Very odd.
Something is not right. I'm noting I'm unable to blacklist battle towers from the twilight forest. I'm trying to blacklist them from dimensions not added by vanilla.
Have you launched the game with your modded worldgen yet? Any custom world providers will be in that file afterwards. You can just generate and delete a world to do this. (It has to generate the custom world, though).
Oh no i didnt, okay will try. Thank you. Is there still any way to fix the broken torches in the towers? I have dynamic lights, and fps drops a good amount when all torches fall to the ground. Okay went to a different dimension, there is no option to turn battletowers of there. Is there a way to do that manually?
Sorry, not from your end. I would have to port fixes QuarterAnimals did to fix similar issues in Ruins and add some kind of dimension blacklist to Battletowers, and i don't really feel like coding for MC these days.
Experiencing an issue where the top chest and second to top chest cannot be opened until the golem is gone. In single player, the chests open visually, but the inventory interface does not appear. In multiplayer, the server will disconnect you when trying to open these chests. I've experience this on several versions of Forge, with Battle Towers being the only mod installed. Any advice is appreciated.

The server, or more specifically sponge deliberately crashes because it detected a Battletowers packet caused "SetAttackTarget" to be executed. Normal minecraft doesn't mind that.
EDIT: By crash i mean the thread handling the packet. If a client packet crashes a thread, the user is kicked.
I don't think potions can be described using the meta scheme, sorry. A convenient way ... Ruins? It's another of my mods, and it features a "world to template" parser. You can stuff any blocks and items you want ingame in a place (items into chests or similar), then "parse" this place and its contents as Ruins template. The template file will contain ready-to-use naming for all content.
Note: Ruins supports a lot of custom NBT stuff that Battletowers doesn't, but if you only need ids and metas it will help just fine.

For anyone having trouble with the config loot section, remember that not every tower has all 9 floors. If you're doing small scale testing, the floor you're testing my not have generated at any given tower.
I've decided to get back into MC recently and I always played with battle towers and infernal mobs. Issue is, last time I played was years ago and back in those days, the config file was just a .txt
How can i get items from other mods in the chests?
I tried to change the config and wrote in e.g. "S:"Floor 3"=jungle_sappling-0-70-5-9;mushroom-0-55-4-9;blue_backpack-0-27-1-1;wrench-0-24-1-1;iron_gear-0-27-1-3;strawberry_seeds-0-30-2-7;(...)", but the loot just contains items from minecraft. In this example it would be jungle_sapplings and mushrooms.
Forge version is 1.7.10

I should mention that I tested this on 1.12.2. I don't know if the mod dev has this functionality in 1.7.10, since that is an incredibly old version that I am surprised people still use.

Check your Battletowers config for the "ChunkProviderAllowed" line. See if you can't find the Twilight forest generator in there, and blacklist it.
And how can one blacklist now?

Disconnect you(!!) that is not expected behaviour. Is it your server? Do you have logfiles maybe you could provide?
