Does anybody know a good way to copy/paste redpower structures? I have an area I want to copy that has lots of complex wiring, covers, strips, and gates.
WorldEdit couldn't hack it. McEdit replaced everything with dirt for some reason. Any ideas of anything that could work?
I'm using MCEdit 0.1.5 its from October 2012 and it works for copy pasting CP cover/wires as that is what I use it for.

If I'm not mistaken, MCedit uses the mods and configs to deal with non-vanilla blocks. As long as your Minecraft is still 1.2.5 it shouldn't do that, but it may be a bug atm so if thats the case the person whos taken over maintaining MCedit will have to fix it once Redpower is out.
That or you can use an older version of MCedit and see if that works.
Now then, don't read too much into what I was saying, regardless of what has been said, I have no idea if DW will actually start the new LP next week. I just don't think he will start without RP2 being released.
LPing is Direwolfs bread and butter. At some point he's going to have to start something, because otherwise he is going to be giving up a lot of revenue.
Did they fix it? I tried that yesterday evening...
I have got all those mod in 1.4.5 with factorization since last week-end and they work fine. Make sure it is not an hidden ID conflict (I got that one time, my crash was an ID conflict but the crash report wasn't showing it)
I decided to start playing 1.4 anyway, and it took about... 20 minutes for me to want to use something from RedPower! So I ended up remaking parts of it... Just the block breaker, deployer and transposer... It's annoying using BC pipes though... and I still miss everything else in RedPower
My early game (at least in 1.2.5) is dominated by redpower. I try and get to forestry backpacks as soon as possible and redpower flax combined with the sickle is by far the best way to get there, with gem tools coming soon after, until I get IC2 up and running to get the drill and chainsaw. My first sorting system is always redpower, however logistics pipes replace that later on. And my first base is almost always basalt, and any later bases rely heavily on the marble stone just to make things look good, although marble is pretty weak to explosions. Once I have a base established it's fine, it's that first couple of hours that I really yearn for redpower to be back. I got lucky in the current world I'm playing (1.4.2), I found a spider spawner right near where I spawned,
I just wish Elo had released the world gen portion for each update so that we wouldn't have to start worlds anew. Oh well. I'll wait as long as it takes for RP to be released to pub. No complaints here.
I want to try to make a movable frame system that deploys BC quarries on two sides. Not entirely sure how I would do that but it's the process of design, trial, error, redesign, trial, more error, and so on that is fun.

Thanks Eloraam for such an awesome mod
The problem with that is the big bug that causes world corruption (as of a few days ago) that an Op at #redpower was talking about was in Core, which is required for everything else.

Ah, I wasn't aware of that bug. No world gen would make sense knowing that.

A lot of revenue...? Ha!
I'm fairly certain that DW isn't playing Minecraft to make ends meet. Just something he enjoys. So he can take his precious time.

I believe in a better world; a more beautiful, pure and extravagant vista filled to the brim with life. Time for a new seed.
I tried to build 1.4.5 version of minecraft and add factorization to it, 'cause I'm kinda tired of IC2 ore production, so I want to try something new...
Results:
Factorization - crash
Railcraft - crash
RedPower - does not exist
What a shame ~_~
What forge version? Anything past 397 causes problems.
You'll have to use forge 397, Railcraft 6.8 and Factorization 0.7.3 until FZ updates for the newer forge.
Hrm... interesting... I wonder what happened in July-August that caused his 'Total Views Per Month' to start dropping when there had been nothing but growth in the months before... Might have to ponder this for a minute or three.
i'm surprised anyone needed a real good look to tell that, dire has never been anything less than forthcoming about it too, he mainly does it because he enjoys it, but he's not gonna deny that while it's not a living every little bit helps either.
honestly, this statistic was surprisingly low to me at least:
Has Earned an Estimated: (CPM $0.50 - $2.50)
$1192.92 - $5964.6
i'd have figured more nickels and dimes would have piled up by now, then again that could be a monthly or weekly figure and me just misreading it, the long and the short of it either way, is you wouldn't let's play in front of an audience if you didn't at least aspire to (possibly) turn it into a business of sorts, it doesn't matter though, every youtuber worth a salt is a youtube partner, they all care to some degree about monetisation.

24 hours gone again, wasted in futility, welcome to minecraft modding, that is (unfortunately) our community.

i keep making the same mistake, i think "oh, i've given them a few months, surely it'll be fixed by now" THAT is why i seem to ALWAYS be angry to some of you, my advice is to get the lead out.
there were nice things here, until the mod author threw a tantrum.
Forgive this probably noobish question, but how in the hell does someone make any kind of money by making videos, when nobody has to pay to watch them? From ads?
Apparently I am in the wrong line of work. Actually, atm I'm not in any line of work at all.....
ah so it does, i didn't even see that tab, i r blind.
either way though, show me one person on youtube claiming to not be about monetizing their videos and let's plays, i'll show you a liar and a gullible fool.
glad he's doing that well with it honestly.

I'd be willing to be on DW's channel it's at the very bottom of those estimates. He doesn't seem to do any of the extra work that would be require more revenue. Now the channels that upload 8+ videos a day, they are definitely making a good sum.
That shows potential earnings. DW20 has a job, I doubt if he was really earning $77k he'd bother with the day job, not being US based I don't know if that sound slike a bad wage or not, but in the UK that works out roughly as £48k which is a good wage. Of course you'd still have to pay taxes, but it is still a huge chunk of change for what is in effect a hobby.
And on the way of these things to achieve that potential earning he'd really need to work at it, changing it from a hobby to a business... then it stops being fun and becomes drudge... :/
Even if I was making that off you tube, I still wouldn't quit a day job. Insurance for starters, and second because all he really needs to do is record 30 minutes of video a day and we all know it's nearly impossible to just play for 30 minutes at a time, so there in creates a natural back log. As for the second part, if you work a job you love, you'll never 'work' a day in your life. Short of having to play dora the explorer for 8 hours a day 5 days a week I don't see how getting paid for playing a game could ever become a drudge. I test tax software for a living and while that does get 'drudgy' at times all I really have to do is remind myself that I'm getting paid to try and break software and mess around on top of the line technology on a daily basis and the drudge disappears. What I wouldn't give to have this 8 core 64gig ram machine at home (they even gave us dual video cards for some ungodly reason I don't know).

Are you using NEI 1.4.2.8? It's incompatible with basically everything; try downloading to NEI 1.4.2.7 and CodeChickenCore 0.6.8.
