When I use this MOD for 1.3.2, It became can't break obsidian with the diamond pickaxe.
I lowered and checked the version of MC and MOD, this operation was normal at 1.3.1.
Please fix.

sorry about that. redownload. i just fixed this problem. in the code, it says "if pickaxe == 2, break obsidian" and i needed to change the "==" to ">=".. sorry, i accidentally overlooked it!
I seem to be having trouble getting ODM to play nice with Forge now.
I'm using Forge version 4.0.0.204.
Spews out errors. Something about "java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: Modloader.addSmelting(ILrj;F)"
Is this mod no longer compatible with Forge?

I'm not sure how to get the alternate texture pack installed correctly. I am using the Pandokucraft texture pack and I don't know what to do with the files to get them to show in the game. I've copied the entire odm texture sip file to the texture pack file, copied the individual files into the texture pack zip, and tried every other permutation of copying the files into various parts of the texture pack's structure.
Nothing seems to work when I use this texture pack. The texture for iron ore is a quvier of arrows, something which inst even in any of my mods (Im primarily using Better than Wolves).
I'm finding the instruction file a bit vague as it doesn't tell me what exactly what files to copy where? Any additional information would be appreciated.

Better than wolves probably uses alot of item classes, so it may not be compatible sorry :/
not yet.. im still unable to get a straight forward answer on what i even need to make it compatible with multiplayer. however, if you play on LAN and the other player has ODM installed, it will work.

The mod itself works perfectly with BTW. I've been using it for the past few versions. BTW does modify many "base classes" and is not compatible with Forge, which makes it incompatible with a lot of mods, but it't not too surprising that this one works. Flowerchild has written that he does not like his mod to break peoples' worlds or builds, so it stands to reason that he wouldn't modify the orders or mining.
Would love this if it would leave alone or make optional the changes to ore harvesting.

I can't really get this mod work.. i usually use millenaire, so i have modloader and forge API installed, the mod doesn't work with that configuration, so i've forced the update to clear the .jar and then cleared mods folder, nothing again.. i've also deleted meta-inf in the .jar but minecraft can't read it, what's wrong?
I had problems getting it to work, too. I just decided to abandon using it in the end, but it seems to be conflicting with Forge. I'm upgrading to a version of Forge that's hot off the presses in hopes that it will play nice now. If so, I will edit this post saying that it does. If not, I'll update this post with the error log, and hope that KittyCubical can do something about it.
On an unrelated note, a feature suggestion:
If you ever get (or already got) the config to work, make it so that we can add in block IDs so that they drop double their resource when mined, so that we can add in compatibility for any ore-adding mod ourselves.
A possible way to limit the amount of blocks that can be added in this way to keep down cheating (even though this is generally a single-player only mod), might be to call a check on startup to see if the block in question requires a pickaxe to harvest.
Another possibility (and the two could doubled up) would be to add an in-game check to see if the block in question is naturally generated or player-placed, since most ore-adding mods drop the block like iron and gold do in vanilla.
On a different note, it would be neat if you could make a version with Metallurgy compatibility, so that we can get nuggets of ore from the various metals added within. You might be able to get the mod author to make the nugget/ore item textures instead of you having to do it. And then we could crush these ore items for a single dust instead of crushing blocks for two dusts.
Edit: Yeah, I'm pretty sure that this mod now works with the very latest Forge build. Minor incompatibility with Metallurgy 2 causing iron and gold to still drop as a single block rather than multiple items notwithstanding,

heres how i use the alternate textures.
1. open the zip holding the alternate textures.
2. click the folder with the texture you want inside.
3. inside that folder will be ODMT, click and drag that folder inside the zip of the texturepack you're using.
excuse me, this mod does not break the game. you may be experiencing a conflict between one or more mods. also make sure META-INF is deleted and that you have the modloader for your version of minecraft.
i unfortunately do not know how to mod for multiplayer. this is only for singleplayer, unless you host a LAN game, and the person connected with you has the mod as well

fortunately enough, there are no block id's involved. i kept the blocks themselves unedited. i edited the main ore file to drop 1 to 3. still though, i can't figure out why the config wont work. Minecrafts code is getting more and more complicated every update. and i havent worked with another modder before, but i would assume that he would have to make and alternate version of his/her own mod so that it has compatibility with mine.

im not too familiar with forge. however, odm always seemed to work for me when i installed modloaderMP and then forge last. im not exactly sure. sorry
Did you purposely change to not give xp or work with Fortune anymore? I have a video of me using the version for 1.4 and not getting xp like I used to for Iron/Gold and with a Fortune I pick I was getting 1 ore 90% of the time. I'm not too concerned about it, just curious.
This mod is great for anyone who's played for quite a while and wants to start a new game.
It doesn't feel like cheating, but it speeds up those initial few days of mining for iron to get started!
I lowered and checked the version of MC and MOD, this operation was normal at 1.3.1.
