Just checking to see if you actually did update that remote! I see you did. That is really good to hear. I can't wait for the 1.5 update in a few weeks keep it up
Got to ask but why isn't this updated yet? I can understand some mods as they had textures to deal with and and and but as for a mod this one seems to be on the more basic side and still doesn't even have 1.5 in a beta. If its personal I can understand but for a mod that everyone seems to use its odd that it hasn't yet updated.
I'm not having trouble with textures, I'm having trouble finding the time and motivation to work on it.

Maybe you have another mod that's using them?
What version of minecraft are you running on?
Over the past half year my motivation to work on the mod has been dwindling steadily Partly because of the development direction and strategy of Mojang and Minecraft itself, the politics surrounding the modding community and the state of the general Minecraft community. But also largely because... well... there are a million other (and perhaps more) interesting things to do! The main reason I've been doing anything at all the past 4-5 months is because I've felt an obligation towards my user-base, and I am sure you'll agree that this is not healthy for the project.
I've been putting it off for a while, because it is not an easy decision to make. I love the project, I love my users, but I have decided to officially lay down my sword for now.
It has been decided that the project and it's intellectual property be handed over to SlimeVoid. They have been doing most of the work on the mod the past year anyways, so the migration should be relatively painless.
The mod is obviously still protected by the GNU lesser general public license. Anyone who wishes to take it further is, like always, more than welcome to do so.
I'll be hanging around for a while more for any questions, support and consulting. The thread will be kept active with a notification and a redirection link on top, but most activity will hopefully be gradually moved over to a new thread.
I'll also keep the servers running, for ZIP downloads and for the installer. There might be a migration of all this over to SlimeVoid at a later date, but we'll make sure the migration is as smooth and unnoticeable as possible.
TLDR; I won't be leading the development of Wireless Redstone anymore, it will be handed over to SlimeVoid.
PS: The mod has been updated and is ready for Minecraft 1.5.1. It will be released by SlimeVoid and on the installer soon.
Ugh I HATED 1.3. Any company with its head on straight would have known enough to keep singleplayer and multiplayer separate. By merging it, they caused latency in single player, and the 1.5 update is lagging a lot more than 1.4.7 on my comp.
in 1.4.7, 60 FPS max settings constantly
in 1.5.1 49-60 FPS, major stuttering whenever I move.
My PC specs would make you say, that should be running just fine, but it's all poor programming.

Like I said, poor programming (yes I know it's a laptop, but it ran perfectly fine before 1.5).
I agree to some degree.
Although any company with its head on straight would weigh and balance cost to quality.
Development is incredibly expensive, more so than one would initially expect. I am fairly sure doing it properly would have cost them far more than it would have been worth, or as we say where I'm from; "costs more than it tastes". The way it was done was a little bit too lazy, but it got the job done. And that is, lets face it, what most of their customers care about. They are in it to make money now, it's a job, passion for the software comes at best second. That much should be fairly obvious.
I don't like it, but I think they made the logical choice considering their user base.
Sorry to hear Ali4z. I've been a user and follower of this thread for well over a year now and I hate to see you stepping back from the project, although I can understand your point. I'm glad you'll still be around as I think many of us are.
yea but new producers always leads to worse things.
We are aware change is difficult. That is why we have processes in place to make sure it happens gradually, and thus as painlessly as possible for our users and everyone else.
I'm fairly sure the most noticeable change will be the migration over to a new thread, which will happen gradually. How gradually only really depends on the user base and for how long they will stick around in the old one. It's not exactly a very active thread. It's been mostly for announcements, bug reports and people asking politely for updates with big colorful letters. (no, I don't mind, it's how I know people still use the mod, haha) So I do not expect it to take very long for the dust to settle.
You do not need to worry too much about the direction of development, Eury has been doing most of it for the past half++ year anyways. Like he said: if you've been happy with the project up until now; it is fairly likely you'll be happy with it for a while more. Unless you get horribly bored with it or someone comes up with something better of course.

they have a couple of good mods, and they're lazy about updating, everything is 1.4.7 there.
no 1.5.1, once this releases, i'm never going to update MC again.

Would you like some pastries? I'VE GOT PLENTY!

Welp, I'm here...
Like I've said to everyone asking, just wait. Eury is working on it, in the meantime, would you like some pastries?
What kind do you got? Does bacon count as a pastry?
Welp, I'm here...
... SURE! BACON MAKES EVERYTHING BETTER! XD
