Multi-MC wouldn't cause id conflicts, dunno about those.
As for install:
Files for .minecraft folder - as for any install, go to the base .minecraft folder and drop the lot in.
(sometimes you have to restart Multi-MC for mods folder mods added this way to show under edit mods)
Files for minecraft.jar - go into the the folder these unzipped to, hit control+a to select all and rezip.
Using Multi-MC's edit mods button and drop into jar mods.
Hope this helped.
Thanks.
Alright, got it working with no conflicts between mods and no crash at world gen. Thanks for your help!
Panther,
'MCpatcher' has trouble with some texture packs. Not sure why.
My guess is something about some of the partly transparent blocks.
I would isolate it using a "binary search":
1) Create a copy of the texture pack, but with only half of the textures.
2) Load the modified texture pack. Does the game still crash?
3) If no: The error must be in the other half, modify the pack to only include that half next time.
4) If yes: The error must be in this half, which is good, cut out half the remaining textures and try again.
5) Keep checking for crashes and cutting in half untill the bug(s) are isolated a single texture(s).
Even if the texture pack had 1000 textures in it, you can isolate the problem in under 9 tries this way.
For examle, one of the mods was conflicting with 'ThaumCraft' install last night.
However, I was able to single out 'Elemental Tinker' from >120 other mods in only 4 tries using this method.
The crash was my fault (regarding the textures) I tried switching textures by selecting PureBDCraft in the texture window which caused the problem. Extracting the BDCraft textures into the 'AMCO in HD' pack did the trick so now I have to track down all the available patches and plug them in. Unfortunately a lot of them haven't been updated to 1.5.1 which means that I have to go through a bunch of sprite sheets and extract the individual sprites.
Maybe by the time I'm done all the crash shenanigans will be dealt with
Btw hen I installed this mod pack I played Minecraft for hours on end, which I haven't done for a long time. Needless to say I'm really looking forward to playing this mod pack again so best of luck with the bug hunt!
Just wanna point out that Tinker's is still broken in rev 4, everything you can make as far as i can tell is considered electric and if you create something it will corrupt your save making it crash every time you load it up. Real shame
Now i need to work out how to edit my inventory without loading up the game or i've lost a few hours of time. That will teach me to not backup my stuff before trying something risky!

I had the same problem in rev3 (stuill can't get rev4 to work). I had to remove the mod, load the map then replace the mod again but of course you'll lose all the Tinkerer related stuff (and ore spawns) by doing that. Then again since you're not able to make anything the only thing it's really useful for is producing 2 ingots from smelting vanilla ores. Personally I leave it out.

That would of been a much smarter thing to do! I grabbed invedit and gave myself a blank inventory in the end.
I see the bug with the explosions too.
It's because the block.class file is being modified.
Apparently the latest version of 'Forge' adds a new method which the modified file does not have... yet.
Madcock8383, the author of DNS modpack, has been super helpfull getting an installer to work.
It's pretty sweet, and he's even configured it to work with AMCO's install.
He was also able to help me get 'Industrial Craft 2' working too.
I am also able to see the world-gen crashes a lot of others are reporting.
That's frustrating, but good news:
Now that I can see the crash I can work on figuring out what causes it.
That stuff will probably be fixed, along with getting multiplayer support working again, in the next day or two.
Arrrg
Heres a little somethin', somethin' fir you guys (hope arrrg doesnt mind?!?!)
Just wanted to throw that out there. Also glad I could help. Having our two packs work together, even in a small way, can only help our users in the end. Anyways talk at you guys laters.
This is going to turn out to be embarrassingly simple, I just know it is............
When I remove the Tinker's mod, I get a long long long list of texture errors all about the same.
When Minecraft loads up, all the textures are wrong, tho otherwise everything is fine.
Just wanna point out that Tinker's is still broken in rev 4, everything you can make as far as i can tell is considered electric and if you create something it will corrupt your save making it crash every time you load it up. Real shame

INVEdit Should be able to work for that, assuming it's still functional with current Minecraft versions. (haven't used it in a couple years)
Edit: Arrrg It seems that Thermal Expansion is missing from the download as well. I have also found a temporary way around the explosion problem (at least from mobs) by setting "/gamerule mobGriefing false" Still crashes with TNT though.
Just curious... I've been noticing that my inventory refuses to remain how I set it. It seems every few minutes or so it auto-organizes itself and I find it quite annoying. Any idea on how/why it's doing this? Is it normal? And most importantly, any idea on how I can get it to remain how I organize it?
The auto-sort hotbutton, I believe, is supposed to be the 'R' key. Though I find if I DO hit the 'R' key it doesn't actually work.
EDIT: Ok I just found out it's every time I hit the ESC key to bring up the submenu/pause it auto-sorts. Not sure why...

The buton is currently mapped to ESC. To change it, go to your inventory, click on the [...] button and the first button lets you choose what key you want to use for auto-sort.
Firstly a huge thanks to MadCock8338 for providing a new installer, and helping me get 'IC2' running.
He also set us up with an update checker.
From now on the game will tell you if there is a new version of AMCO available.
MadCock is the author of the DNS modback, which is loaded with technical/machiene mods.
We are teaming up to improve both packs.
Stay tuned for for some videos of MadCock and I teaming up to explore new mods in the near future.
Very cool.
Explosion Bug has been fixed.
'Forge' includes a new method for explosions.
My custom colorizer code did not include it previously.
Now it does. Party on.
Lots of Updates this time:
'Tinker's Construct'
'Modular Power Suits'
'IC2'
'Treepacitator' has been tweeked to hollow out redwoods without killing the leaves.
'Damage Indicators' now works with servers.
SpaxDBcraft texture pack has been added. Very nice.

Okay sorry if you guys think this is a stupid question and there is probably something simple that I am not realizing. Here's it is:
When I open the installer and click install it says "please select at least one mod to install". Then I tried clicking on the button that said "Amco Modpack Installer Rev5" and THEN clicking install but the same message pops up. I have no idea what to do.
One more thing, I also tried installing the mod pack manually. I did everything that the directions said to do. The game loads fine but when I go to create a world it freezes and just doesn't create the world. I left it like that for a couple of hours and it still didn't work. So what do I do?
You are correct, there seems to be somethin wrong with the installer.
I'll check that out and fix it pronto.
Looks like you've figured out the manual install ok though.
World generation can be a problem because of all the new stuff being spawned.
That makes some systems run out of memory.
Try running the game from one of the .bat files linked to in the "Known Bugs" section.
If that still doesn't work try disabeling some of the mods that add things durring world gen, like 'Ruins', or 'Better Dungeons', or 'Harvest Craft'.
Disabeling them will mean the things they add will not appear.
However if you generate the world, exit the game, enable the mods, and restart the game, then they'll only be missing near world spawn.

"java.lang.RuntimeException: Invalid value: redstone -> items: glTexSubImage2D(0, 576, 192, 64, 64)"
Pretty much every item in the game is listed in there.
What am I doing wrong? Is there something else that needs to be removed or does Tinker just hate me?
