i made a test one in the nether too which grew fast enogh but the one in the overworld in the planter just doesn't want to grow at all....
I thought you had to force the bloodtree to grow in the overworld, and that it only grew on it's own in the nether.
Whoops - forgot to ask... So the BTW forums were closed until the release of 3.92. I tried to register & couldn't. Is this being extended, is there just a delay, am i just being too much an eager beaver? Got a couple of things to talk about and figured it was time to sign up.
Just realized a bonus for me and the half dirt slabs...I can now remove my torch 'farms' from my lawn areas. I don't mind having to light up structures I've built...but for me the purpose of having an inner courtyard lawn is to not have sticks poking out of it in a very distinct pattern.
I really wish this was a vanilla thing now, this means essentially a player could 'clear' a location of hostile mob spawns with minimal creative lighting.
Bug:?
Not sure if I remember correctly but i though you could cut wooden half slabs (vanilla) on the saw after they fixed the properties of it, as of right now it is a bad idea.
I seem to have vanilla placeholder textures for all BTW blocks, not sure what the problem is. I did optifine, modloader, & btw. I also get the same result when i use a supported 32x32 BTW texture pack.
I'm not getting any results using previous BTWMODTEX folders, the game isn't reading the path to the location to obtain textures.

Expect a lot of bugs right now. Since it's the 1st 1.3.2 Release.

I'm guessing it's optifine. That's the only thing that makes sense.
Yes. And don't make the mistake of thinking you can do it then stop at a 1/2 heart then stop working and still live. I did that, and I died.
Actually, i didn't stop at half a heart and kept punching the handcrank. However, on Normal you don't die from hunger, as it stops at half a heart.
So really, you could just dig yourself in, keep punching the thing till you can build a windmill or whatever and then eat...
Anyway, yea i did die from a skeleton shooting an arrow at me while at half a heart. But that's because the tiny tiny island next to mine was dark (mine was lit), and a skeleton spawned and insta-gibbed me.
Gotta say: Mobs are really FUBAR. I withstood a skeleton attack by punching the thing twice, into the water. Then it swam off. On 1.2.5, i would've died pretty much instantly.
Second thing: Skeletons are especially FUBAR. I got attacked by arrows being spawned in the wrong place, so Skeletons could shoot at me while they were 2 blocks lower (at the edge of a cliff).
Skeletons and Zombies have FUBAR AI, but surprisingly spiders and creepers seem to work just fine...

I haven't played SMP so I'm not sure how much of this stuff is down to the transition to making the whole game run as a server, which from my viewpoint sucks hairy man eggs, because I don't want to play SMP:
Game seems to lag like crazy. Even with OptiFine.
Mobs suck. More than a bit. They aren't working right. At all.
Mob drops seem glitchy as hell. I kill a pig, it drops 3 pork, then magically that has become 1 pork and yet when I pick up that 1 pork I have 3 in my inventory. Why the hell can't there just be 3 pork lying on the damned ground?!
....
dang it -ninja's-
They made it so drops combine to help prevent lag due to massive drops lying around. It's a documented change that was made during the snapshots. However the mobs/animals/villagers glitching down a block is annoying,
Vanilla bugs are not part of BTW, complain to Mojang.

Same when breaking blocks. I built a temporary wooden shelter my first night on my new 1.3.2 world. When I broke it down the next morning the blocks that dropped to the ground all merged together into a handful of 'piles' like they were forming a blocky T1000 and yet when I picked them up I had less wood in my inventory than I used to build the shelter. So does that mean every time I build something, decide it doesn't look quite right, rip it down and start again, I have to have extra resources available to make up for the ones that just seem to magically disappear? That's just stupid.
(first time i get ninjad and its a double ninja! This does not speak good news)
perhaps this is similar to a plugin a friend on a bukkit serv had:
It clumps all items of similar types together in a area to decrease lag and ease mining?
My previous problem of BTW textures not working is fixed, i didn't do anything different from when i encountered the problem other then to keep reinstalling from fresh .jar.
Yeah, guys, I agree that the laginess of single-player currently sucks badly. Personally, I think trashing your single-player experience for this kind of integrated multiplayer code is just amateur ******** that would never fly at a professional studio.
However, that's a vanilla problem that I can do SFA about, so flooding the thread with bitching about it is entirely useless. Please direct such complaints to Mojang, so I can focus on the stuff I *can* do something about
However my point about things clumping together is legitimate, because it is stupid. If a mob gives me 3 drops, I should be able to see 3 drops on the ground. Why the hell should I have to open my inventory every time I kill something to see what I've collected.
The performance issue *is* valid (saying other games run fine in MP isn't relevant, as they don't have MC's dynamic environment, which requires FAR more data to be sent), but I think your concerns are as well.
I think the big problem with the clumping behavior at present is the item count in a stack is not being properly sent to the client when they clump.
You know how multi-item stacks normally show that they're multi-item stacks? They aren't doing that right now, and this is why it feels really weird. I'll take a note to look at that.
Well so far we've got a turntable up and running, as well as a kiln and hibachis. No problems or issues at all so far. Oh, the text at the top of a stewing pot says "Crucible", but I'm guessing that was just something being mislabled.
I appreciate the bug-reports guys, but you might want to take a look here before posting them:
Ok. Like I said I haven't played this in MP, apart from about 5 minutes on a server which almost made me want to stop playing any multiplayer ever again. It reminded me of my days, many years ago, on WOW with all the 'LEET' really whiny kids, but a lot worse, so I didn't know that was what was going on with SMP and does make grouping items relevant. Still really annoying though.
Well, as I said above, I'll take a look at it, as I agree with you. I think if I make the change I propose above it will be much less of an issue to the point of it not really being noticeable.
Impressive job with the update! Wasn't expecting this to update this quickly, seeing the scale of the mod overall. Nice job.
I really can't help but ask, though: Since 1.3 changed the layout of the Creative inventory, most of BTW's items have been removed from the menu. I know you don't care about creative, but can you re-implement this? There's probably a large amount of people who used this feature to test out mod updates, factory designs, and other stuff......

dang it -ninja's-
They made it so drops combine to help prevent lag due to massive drops lying around. It's a documented change that was made during the snapshots. However the mobs/animals/villagers glitching down a block is annoying,
Vanilla bugs are not part of BTW, complain to Mojang.
(first time i get ninjad and its a double ninja! This does not speak good news)
perhaps this is similar to a plugin a friend on a bukkit serv had:
It clumps all items of similar types together in a area to decrease lag and ease mining?
Watched : 8 times, read 3 times, played 14 times.
However, that's a vanilla problem that I can do SFA about, so flooding the thread with bitching about it is entirely useless. Please direct such complaints to Mojang, so I can focus on the stuff I *can* do something about
The performance issue *is* valid (saying other games run fine in MP isn't relevant, as they don't have MC's dynamic environment, which requires FAR more data to be sent), but I think your concerns are as well.
I think the big problem with the clumping behavior at present is the item count in a stack is not being properly sent to the client when they clump.
You know how multi-item stacks normally show that they're multi-item stacks? They aren't doing that right now, and this is why it feels really weird. I'll take a note to look at that.
I appreciate the bug-reports guys, but you might want to take a look here before posting them:
http://www.sargunster.com/btwforum/viewforum.php?f=7
That's the place I look to first for bugs, and it gives an indication of what is already known, and what I have fixed already for the next release.
I'm busily working on these issues at the moment.
You are using forge. BTW is not compatible AND not using with Forge anymore.
So excited, thank you and we all love you as a modder!
Well, as I said above, I'll take a look at it, as I agree with you. I think if I make the change I propose above it will be much less of an issue to the point of it not really being noticeable.
...I'm gonna need it....
I want to wake up next to Drew Barrymore tomorrow morning.
The moral of the story being:
I really can't help but ask, though: Since 1.3 changed the layout of the Creative inventory, most of BTW's items have been removed from the menu. I know you don't care about creative, but can you re-implement this? There's probably a large amount of people who used this feature to test out mod updates, factory designs, and other stuff......
