How come Connected Textures don't work with Glass and Bookshelves like they used to? Even when I set my Connected Textures to Fancy, the Glass doesn't connect. Is there something wrong with my Minecraft?

I think something got lost in the default translation, so to speak, when Optifine ported over to 1.6.2. Either way, CTM (with specific directory restructuring) still works with texture packs.
Speaking of CTM, has anyone have any success at making it work for Iron Bars? I'd love to have the top/bottom edges work properly with my texture pack.
Hey guys, I've seen that optifine isn't compatible with forge 789. Could someone send me a link to the latest Forge build please, because I haven't been able to find build #804 anywhere.

Oh dear Lord I haven't touched this site in like two years help me I have no idea what I'm doing
I've been having the same exact problem. (OS X, nearly identical error message)
Yes, I had this issue also. I started over with a new jar and installed Optifine using the "jar xf" and "jar uf" to decompile and recompile from the console instead of turning the jar into a zip and installing the modded files through finder. Now when I launch minecraft with optifine, the "Mojang" screen appears briefly, and then minecraft crashes and the launcher spits out this crash report:

Optifine for 1.6.2 is obviously still very broken.
Hi, I've got a problem. When I try to load the world, it stops at "downloading terrain" and will not load the world. I have tried to install the mod via every way mentioned, and none have worked.
Hey guys, I've seen that optifine isn't compatible with forge 789. Could someone send me a link to the latest Forge build please, because I haven't been able to find build #804 anywhere.
Hi! I Would Like To Make A Mod Pack For Enhancement! It Will Hopefully Include Optfine, MCCapes, And Better Sprint Mod! But I Would Like To Ask All The Makers Of These Mods For Permission... So If The Makers Of Optifine Would Allow Me To Make This Mod Pack That Would Be Great!!!
Man don't quote OP. You didn't really need to anyways ;/
There is a mod called Opti-leaves that makes leaves render like glass blocks so that only the sides exposed to air are rendered.
Is Optifine going to include this option at some point? I like having transparency, but fancy trees can lag the game quite a bit and I can see this helping a lot in say, the jungle biome.
So, trying to run this with Forge .804, I get the following message...

Without Optifine, it launches perfectly. Not sure why this occurs...
When I install optifine I don't see some textures like missing signs (text floats in air), only see every player leg(other parts are invisible) and the lid of every chest.
*EDIT* I installed it to minecraft.jar and then made magic launcher use modified. jar then there were no weird stuff.
*EDIT* Same with original launcer
*EDIT* Randomly every launch some thing appear other dissapear, sign bug
Wow getting optifine to in 1.6.2 seriously is a royal pain.. Nothing works.. Magic launcher the works... just closes magic launcher when I click login.. and nothering thereafter.
Optifine works fine for a lot of us.
Do a Vanilla Minecraft install from scratch and start the game up once through the standard launcher provided by Mojang. Set all your preferred options, like sound level, invert y axis, etc. Enter the game, create a level to see if it all starts up fine.
Copy Magic Launcher, ModLoader and Optifine into the .minecraft folder. Copy any texture packs you want to use (like say Sphax PureBD Craft 128x or 256x) into your .minecraft\resourcepacks folder.
Start Magic Launcher. Go into the SETUP area. Select the 1.6.2 environment. Use the ADD button to add ModLoader first, then use it again to load Optifine second. Click OK. Login and play either online or offline. The game should start. Open that world and play.
Yes it is
Speaking of CTM, has anyone have any success at making it work for Iron Bars? I'd love to have the top/bottom edges work properly with my texture pack.
