I can't seem to toggle some of the options with optifine 1.7.4 C3
(e.g. chunk loading, lazy chunk loading, custom sky, translucent blocks... etc. . .)
I also can't change several settings. It may be that these are disabled (this is a preview version), but I'm not sure. Kind of annoying, as chunk loading is my favorite setting (actually use my multi-core AND removes the lag spikes I otherwise get). But to be honest, I'm just happy to see progress on 1.7.4. Out of the dozen mods I usually use, Optifine is the only one with any kind of 1.7.4 version out so far.

There is a setting to activate it. I believe it is under Options -> Other, and under a subheading of 'Multiplayer Settings'. But I could be remembering it incorrectly.
I've never had any crash/hang issues with Optifine before, but with 1.7.2_HD_C2, the game hangs at the Mojang logo and won't close without being killed. It doesn't appear to be using the CPU or leaking memory when it crashes. The output in the development console is as follows:

The zoom button isn't working for me in 1.7.2, and there's no option for the keybinding. Left control, the default, does nothing. Is anyone else having this issue?
EDIT: Ignore this. I got confused and thought I was using the jar with Optifine installed; turned out I wasn't. But someone else is having this problem… not sure why.

I bought an optifine cape on January 16th and I have not received it yet. When I go on the website and log on to my account it says cape not found I can post the receipt number if you need it and my minecraft name is Nicksega. Thanks
Awesome mod! I had a look at your license info and did not find too much info about modpacks. But I would like to ask your permission to use Optifine in my pack (GyroCraft) which is view able here: http://www.technicpack.net/modpack/details/gyrocraft.190943
Right now I am setting up all the permissions and mod list descriptions on the technic site. Since we have very many mods, it has been very beneficial to include optifine with tweaked settings to help it run on lower end computers. This is known problem with the Linux (ubuntu?) graphics driver.
Minecraft will eventually start but this may take several minutes, afterwards it will work normally.
Currently there is no simple fix, upgrading the graphics driver may help.
I would be nice to have a block data CTM file for advanced users.
For example CTM integration with the Forge Multipart mod is possible. Because the blocks don't have textures at all in FMP, instead it pulls from the default textures traditional CTM integration would be impossible
So for example if I wanted it to work with a glass cover which is id 1028:203 I could say in a config file something of the sort:
This would be a single properties file for manually interpretation of block**s** outside of a texturepack

Use CTM glass // inheriting the ctm configs and textures

So, anyone else not able to use 512x texture packs after installing for 1.7.4? It's Sphax 512x, and it works perfectly fine before optifine.
Sphax has a lot of textures which vanilla does not recognize (connected textures for example).
OptiFine can load all the additional textures and then it probably hits the limit on the maximal texture atlas size.

Out of the dozen mods I usually use, Optifine is the only one with any kind of 1.7.4 version out so far.
There is a setting to activate it. I believe it is under Options -> Other, and under a subheading of 'Multiplayer Settings'. But I could be remembering it incorrectly.
JDK: OpenJDK7
I've never had any crash/hang issues with Optifine before, but with 1.7.2_HD_C2, the game hangs at the Mojang logo and won't close without being killed. It doesn't appear to be using the CPU or leaking memory when it crashes. The output in the development console is as follows:

1.7.2_HD_U_A9 and earlier work, but 1.7.2_HD_U_B1 and later don't. Any suggestions on what I can do to fix this?
EDIT: Ignore this. I got confused and thought I was using the jar with Optifine installed; turned out I wasn't. But someone else is having this problem… not sure why.

This is known problem with the Linux (ubuntu?) graphics driver.
Minecraft will eventually start but this may take several minutes, afterwards it will work normally.
Currently there is no simple fix, upgrading the graphics driver may help.

For example CTM integration with the Forge Multipart mod is possible. Because the blocks don't have textures at all in FMP, instead it pulls from the default textures traditional CTM integration would be impossible
So for example if I wanted it to work with a glass cover which is id 1028:203 I could say in a config file something of the sort:
This would be a single properties file for manually interpretation of block**s** outside of a texturepack
or very specific (basically giving a block which pulls its textures from the vanilla minecraft texture locations its own textures)
This would be a properties file inside of a texturepack in a folder with img files like traditional ctm
Also FMP isn't updated to 1.7 yet so this post is almost pointless but I would like it if you could consider it, I know most mod authors hate it when some1 comes up with an idea without a way to implement it, I hope that this gives you some idea of basic implementation
Sphax has a lot of textures which vanilla does not recognize (connected textures for example).
OptiFine can load all the additional textures and then it probably hits the limit on the maximal texture atlas size.
