not sure if this has been mentioned, but when swimming in lava near bedrock setting clear water on and depth fog off removes the red fog however the light level under the water is still too dark when it should be full bright.
please for the love of god add in some options to adjust this dimming issue that was crammed into the last few mine craft versions. it is unrealistic because if you place a torch or are swimming in glowing lava there is no possible explanation for a random drop in light level a light source should Emmit the same light no matter where you are
You know.... I can't help but to simply wonder why optifine is a mod at all. At this point shouldn't it just be standard in minecraft? I understand that there are other mods for optimization and HD and so on out there and people should be able to choose which one they want to use but....
I have a nice system. Good enough to play most new games at max settings without even a hiccup. It really floors me how bad Minecraft is without an optimization mod like optifine. I've been playing in 1.7.2 / 1.7.4 and the difference between that and 1.6.4 (or any version) with optifine installed is astounding. Its not just the framerate, But chunk loading and the ability to add multicore and all of the other things optifine adds to the game... Just seems to me like these modders should be part of the minecraft team by now with access to the source code. Don't the folks at Mojang know what this mod does for their game?
Ah well... At any rate. I love this mod and the people who develop it should be proud of the work that they do.
Thanks for this mod and all the time you put in to develop it.
Now... Back to 1.6.4... At least until this mod is finished. LOL
I don't know if Mojang is still much concerned about PC version of Minecraft when you see how many they sold for Xbox and soon for PS3.
This has happened everywhere in gaming industry, the PC gamers are about 15 to 20 % so who cares!!
So if Minecraft is so badly optimized and need Optifine to run correctly on many not so new pcs, i guess you got the answer.

Mojang should have hired sp614x a long time ago and got him to code Optifine into Minecraft as standard.

none of my browsers support addfly (all pages reload none stop and shows no counter. just claims wait 5 sec. but other then that page is blank)
nore do i. i got a vruis on my last computer from this crap site..
There should be an alternate link in the OP labeled "Mirror" right next to the adfly link, for just this sort of situation. I'd get the link myself, but I don't know what version you want.

I don't know about all of that... Last I heard 360 sales where at 10 million copies and PC/Mac sales were at 13 million with the majority of the PC/Mac versions sold on PC. Hardly 20%. Don't forget pocket edition sales at around 10 million copies as well. So that puts PC/Mac at about 40% when you combine all the platforms. regardless of the percentages, I don't really see Mojang telling 13 or so million people "We don't care about you".

Agreed. If they did offer it to him and he turned it down as juanjose920_12 said then thats kind of sad for us PC minecrafters I guess. But I'm sure if that is the case he had his reasons.
What is beyond me is why a talented modder can do something like Optifine since a long time now and why a professionnal team like Mojang still cannot develop the same.
I don't think that sp614x has signed an evil contract with his own blood to be able to make Optifine, so the only answer is that Mojang has already much to do to optimize and clean Minecraft code to make it work correctly on other platform than PC or Mac.
I play games on PC since 20 years now and i have seen the same happening to all the games i played to the point that now games are made for consoles and ported to PC by the little guy in the dark corner of the office when he has finished to clean the toilets !
I have a AMD Radeon HD 6750m and I had this little question. On the top of the page it says that I have to disable threaded optimization. Now I went into CCC and there I did not see an option to do that. Anyone has any ideas? It might just not even be possible. I hope you can help me.
Thanks Mees.
I belive that threaded optimization is an Nvidia thing. I don't think that AMD has anything like it.
Is there a way you can get the .zip for this mod instead of the installer cause i want to put this with some forge mods
You could try just putting the jar file that you download into the mod folder with your forge mods.
If that does not work you might let the board know what type of system you have as well as how you are launching (vanilla/magiclauncher/etc.)

Usually it doesn't take this long for optifine to update, but because MCP isn't completely updated, optifine cannot update completely either.

Found this and it seems to have a response from AMD on the subject. https://communities.intel.com/thread/30830
