That's not correct. I'll keep with the super-simple explanation, though. Obfuscation is a separate step that converts the names a program uses internally into gobbledegook, so that other programmers can't make sense of what's going on. What MCP does is figure out what the gobbledegook names actually mean and then converts the code to have these names ("deobfuscated names") so that folks like sp614x can easily make and adapt mods. In order for the mods to be loaded into Minecraft, though, the names have to be converted back to the obfuscated (gobbledegook) forms, and apparently there's some problem with this process on MCP's end.
Optfine is definately a mod with pros and cons. For me, my computer is too far gone for it to help with lag what-so-ever, but it does allow you to edit Minecraft visuals and tweak the game to your likeing, without server owners going crazy. It really is, overall, a useful mod to have installed, and I have reccomended it to many people due to it's many features.
I know Optifine is having problems with 1.7 but i really hope they get it to work cause i have a hard time playing minecraft without optifine and i want to play 1.7.

This happens if several OptiFine jars are in the mods folder.
The ForgeModLoader has a problem when the mod is duplicated.

You really need to sort his out. Optifine is incompatible with Mekanism 1.6.4 (I haven't checked 1.6.2 yet; but it definitely worked in 1.5.2. As soon as you try to access Mekanism in the creative menu, you get this error:

I talked to aidancbrady from Mekanism, apparently Optifine makes the TextureMap.textureType field private, which crashes Mekanism upon loading its textures. A fix would be much appreciated.
The crash is not related to OptiFine (mekanism method not found), the TextureMap.textureType can be fixed if problematic.

The crash is not related to OptiFine (null pointer in language manager).
This same thing happens to me every time. It seems to happen whenever another file is in the mod folder thats not a mod. Like how CodeChickenCore adds a file called 1.6.4 and adds some files within. When i delete it, everythings fine. Same thing with mods like VoxelMap or REI minimap. They add their own files in the mods folder, and the only time the game doesnt crash is when i delete Optifine, or those files.Someone please reply with a fix or tell me the problem. Heres my log.

The crash is not related to OptiFine (mekanism method not found), the TextureMap.textureType can be fixed if problematic.
The crash is not related to OptiFine (null pointer in language manager).
This same thing happens to me every time. It seems to happen whenever another file is in the mod folder thats not a mod. Like how CodeChickenCore adds a file called 1.6.4 and adds some files within. When i delete it, everythings fine. Same thing with mods like VoxelMap or REI minimap. They add their own files in the mods folder, and the only time the game doesnt crash is when i delete Optifine, or those files.Someone please reply with a fix or tell me the problem. Heres my log.
