Hi, very nice Mod!
I want to make a connected texture texturepack, but its reaaly hard to see what textures are for what glass.
The default pack is very hard to find out what things are lines and what are the stuff in the glass.
Do you understand?
Can you please make a glass example with just 1px border (like a simple texturepack)
So after donating (twice, because I forgot to add my username) I haven't got a cape. I know it's a minor thing but I donated and want to show it. The option for capes is on but I still don't see it. So I have a question to ask, how long does it take to get this cape? Cheers.
That's pretty rude. If you read the first post, he's still working on updating it to 1.2.4. I'm assuming there must have been a pretty big unexpected issue with 1.2.4, since it didn't change very much. Give him time, or play 1.2.3.

is it suppose to be like that?
and why do I get werid fps drops on vsync if my fps is so high on max fps?
for example I installed thaum craft and when I look at the portable hole my fps drops to 80~ from 120+ at max fps
and when looking at the portable hole with vsync - my fps drops from 60 to 40-30
and like I said before my gpu activity is 50% when my setting are on "max fps"
and my gpu activity is 99% when my setting are on "vsync"
and im talking about ingame not in the menu

It's known that VSync prevents tearing at the expense of CPU. I don't know why it is - I'm not a hardware enthusiast by any means.
You install them in the wrong order. There is absolutely no reason to install modloader after optifine. In fact, to have them both work you need to install modloader first then optifine.

Vsync limits your fps to whatever you monitor refresh rate is, that is what causes the drop. This is done to keep the top and bottom of the screen in sync so that you don't get tearing. It's not really working your computer that much harder, and as long as it's smooth with vsync there is no reason to change to maxfps. You wont be able to tell the difference between 60 fps and 360 fps anyway because your monitor can only display 60 frame per second.
Hey sp618x, just wanted your thoughts on providing CTM support in this thread. My favourite pack - Jolicraft does not currently support it, and I'm quite sure that the author was quite happy keeping his TP vanilla, so would you be open to making a spoiler containing 3rd party CTM.png's? I created one myself - if anybody wants it they can get it here:
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
This really isn't relevant to the thread you're currently looking at.
Then why do they both work for me when I first install Optifine and then ModLoader?
Because you're partially uninstalling Optifine by placing Modloader on top of it. They share an important base class. Whatever Optifine could have done to help or hurt you is now irrelevant.

OMG 1.2.5 coming? they should just stop oficial releases and do snapshots until much later on to 1.3
I won't be upgrading to 1.2.5, I want optifine ^^ how do I prevent minecraft from updating? (apart from everytime hitting "no" to "you want to upgrade now?" when you launch).
At least soon we will have optiFine 1.2.4 and I will stay with it until 1.3 gets released.
i have an Athlon 64 processor, a GeForce 6100 graphics card, and 896mb of RAM.
You are lucky to have that 25 FPS with that old machine. Really. Isn't GF 6100 an onboard card even?
I get 25 FPS with optiFine+Java 7 on my NETBOOK (Atom 550, integrated graphics)
--/--
BTW what you guys would tell can improve my FPS at longer view distances my desktop: increase CPU or GPU? (don't tell "both" since it's the obvious answer I am not looking for). Specs are:
Dual Core E7500 @ 2.93Ghz
GF 9600 GT
4Gb RAM
W7
Again, not interested in overall FPS increase, only to get decent FPS when I get to 3x viewing distance. Vanilla+Optifine+Java 7 I get some 100+FPS on FAR, but some 15+FPS with 3x viewing distance (ya, I know the math matches)
i don't mean to be a pain in the ass but does anyone see a problem here? (zip of txt and screenshot) http://www.box.com/s...c63044513133064
if there really is a mem_leak then it should get some major attention before optifine is released as "stable" (he is at 98% after all)
otherwise tell me what i could have done wrong, altho i am sure i did it right, Delete META-INF, dump classes in jar, repack/save (with 7-Zip)
EDIT: on a further note back in Minecraft 1.1 (with optifine) i noticed memory issues using the multi-core version, i didnt make a big deal out of it i just used the standard version, seemed to go away
Everything seems to be working OK.
Java is running with a limit of 1024MB and has allocated 512MB of which only 158MB are really being used.
The TaskManager is showing the javaw process using 996 MB or about twice the amount of allocated memory (512 MB), which is normal.
Technical explanation follows:
The limit of 1024 MB concerns the internal memory which Java programs can use. The Java Virtual Machine needs additional memory in order to function which is about the same amount as the java memory. This also differs between 32bit and 64bit java.
Running Minecraft with 1024MB memory limit means that it will use up to 2048MB native windows memory.
The memory usage reported by TaskManager is very, very approximate.

Apologies if this is an obvious answer to you, but believe me - Host/Virtual Machine technobabble scares the hell out of me, so I know nothing about it. Does processor speed determine a Java program's performance as much as memory?
Hey, I have a quick question. I am using MagicLauncher 0.9.7 and I have added OptiFine to the mod section and everything comes up ok. No errors or anything. But when I got to install a texture pack called Soartex Fanver this is what I do:
1. Download the texture pack
2. Put texture pack in texture pack section in the .minecraft folder located at %appdata%
3. Download MCPatcher
4. Run the MCPatcher and patch minecraft with everything except Better Grass
5. Load up Magic Launcher and see that there are now 5 errors. Along with saying that the minecraft.jar says Modified! 1.2.4
Im a little stuck and cant play minecraft with OptiFine and a TP? I dont know if its just the TP or what but i need help!
I am on a Windows PC
i don't think its meant to be "supported" i think most people consider zombe stuff something to be frowned upon :S
however i could be wrong
Author of the original Connected textures has this, http://adf.ly/406503/http://dl.dropbox.com/u/11242053/Minecraft/CTM/template%20v1.1.3.png
bet that is going to still annoy alot of people, nice list of fixes though
no problem, it is for 1.1.3 AFAIK still better than nothin i suppose

Don't even bother. He didn't even read the OP.

Cape is active now.
Thanks for the support.
