I hate to bother you since this is such a fantastic mod, but I'm experiencing an error. On about 75% of the time that I start up Minecraft I am presented with randomly unloading and reloading chunks, never closer to me than roughly 20 metres. It makes the game difficult to play and so I've had to revert to vanilla for now. I have no other mods installed. I have tried cycling through VSync and MaxFPS and practically every option I could find, but none of them seem to help. I have an Nvidia 330M with Mac OS 10.7.2. This does happen if I switch to Integrated Graphics, but they're so terrible that the game is barely playable, even with Optifine. Please have a look into why this may be happening.

Disable threading optimization in your graphics control panel
Yes, I saw that on the front page. Is it referring to an internal Minecraft control panel in Video Settings or one on my OS, because my OS doesn't include one.

It refers to your graphics card's control panel, NOT Windows' display settings. For nvidia cards, this is simply called "NVIDIA Control Panel". I don't know about Intel or AMD cards.

He has an nvidia cards and it isn't a problem for AMD and Intel cards. You should have an nvidia icon in your try or right clicking on your desktop you should have an nvidia control panel option. You have to manually add the java process to the list of programs or set it as the overall default to be false unless a specific profile overrides it.

I think it's pretty amazing how you think this guy is talking about Windows' display settings... since he doesn't have a Windows machine. Also, I would like to note the absurdity in a modder for a game suggesting that you reconfigure your graphics card to use the mod.
Seriously, Optifine MT is making my Buildcraft pipes look like mushrooms. I've heard other errors where people have said it looks like their dirt is on fire. It shouldn't be marked as "cutting edge," it should be marked as "in development, crazy @&%$ might happen."
Crashed when loading world. In "Saving Chunks". OptiFine HD_MT_B2.

My apologies, I missed the first post where he mentioned OS X, and was only responding to the one I saw. No need to flip out over it.
That being said, NVIDIA Control Panel is on Windows only. I don't know how to change these settings on OS X, or if it can even be done.
As for the bit about "absurdity in a modder for a game suggesting that you reconfigure your graphics card to use the mod", the reason for this is that the feature itself in the driver is buggy. It is not sp614x's job to correct NVIDIA's mistakes.
This may be Known Problem #8. I missed the OS X part on first read, too.
The dual switching problem can be fixed without disabling that option, since Intel HD 3000 is a pretty alright GPU. You just need to install something called "gfxCardStatus" and tell it what you want to do at that moment, allowing you to save power if you're not plugged in. Also I messed up, I meant to write "It doesn't happen with Intel Graphics".
I'm playing Minecraft on a HP Pavilion dv6 laptop and I've found it necessary to use Optifine in order to play (this poor computer just can't handle all that Minecraft). Anyway, I noticed frame rate increase to somewhere in the neighborhood of 25-35 FPS with Optifine installed. Noticed that the multicore rendering version was released so I decided to give that a try and HOLY BUTTERBALLS BATMAN!!! Framerate jumped to 50-75 FPS and distance rendering increased dramatically (I don't have to sit around and wait for the scenery to load). Excellent work, I absolutely adore this mod.
I seem to get a black screen after a long "Saving Chunks" when trying to use this mod with the Dynamic Height mod. It must be a confliction with the different height because when loading a map without a different height loads fine even if Dynamic Height is installed.
OptiFine_1.0.0_HD_AA_B2
supporting Antialiasing and Anisotropic Filtering is released.
What is new:
- minimal bugfixes
Please test and report back :cool.gif:
Maybe it's just me, but when I used it, I didn't load the world properly. I could see some dirt and stuff, but it was all like a gigantic area with invisible blocks. I prefer the "Smooth" version.
hey guys i installed optifine and later installed a mod and now the hd textures dont work :sad.gif:
the problem is i dont know which mod i installed that made it go floppy :sad.gif:
i think it might be equivelant exchange. plz help! what do i do? :unsure.gif: :sad.gif:
There is 3 versions. Which is the best one that increases more FPS?
Still, to you!
In theory, the MT version should give you the largest increase in FPS. If the HD_MT_B2 version doesn't work, then you can try the HD_S_B2 version, or the classic which is just the HD_B2 one.
