Once upon a minecraft time. there was a dayblock.. and then a creeper... and thats when i remembered it was just monday, and turned over and went back to sleep.
Make a new block that doesn't do anything and throw a crap texture on it?
And what do you expect? You had exactly... oh yeah, ONE post when you 'released' this 'mod', didn't say anything about it, finally post a video, and it doesn't do anything. Sorry, but it's the truth.

He didn't say it was easy, it said it was useless. Which it is. Make it explode in confetti or something, that would be cool. As it stands, it is useless.
on another note: Take some time to learn how to do some cooler things with your modding, maybe make it flash in different colors like a dance floor? Java can be a confusing language at times but it is learnable and with some effort you can make some really cool stuff! take the Industrial Mod for example.
package net.minecraft.src;
import java.util.*;
public class mod_PartyBlock extends BaseMod
{
public static final Block partyBlock;
static{
partyBlock = new Block(100, ModLoader.addOverride("/terrain.png", "/partymod/partyblock.png"), Material.wood){
public void onNeighborBlockChange(World world, int i, int j, int k, int l)
{
if (world.getBlockId(i, j+1, k) == 92){
Random rand = new Random();
double d = rand.nextGaussian() * 0.02D;
double d1 = rand.nextGaussian() * 0.02D;
double d2 = rand.nextGaussian() * 0.02D;
world.spawnParticle("heart", (i + (double)(rand.nextFloat() * 2.0F)) - 1, j + 0.5D + (double)(rand.nextFloat()), (k + (double)(rand.nextFloat() * 2.0F)) - 1, d, d1, d2);
}
}
};
partyBlock.setHardness(0.6F).setBlockName("Party Block whoo party");
}
mod_PartyBlock(){
ModLoader.RegisterBlock(partyBlock);
ModLoader.AddName(partyBlock, "Party Block whoo party");
ModLoader.AddRecipe(new ItemStack(partyBlock, 1), new Object[] {" ", "# #", " ", Character.valueOf('#'), Block.dirt});
}
public String Version(){
return "PartyBlock 1, because this mod is so simple it's done";
}
}
ModLoader compatible and doesn't require manual editing of terrain.png, even! Took me 5 minutes. I even made it spawn hearts when there's a cake on top and something happens nearby, cause.
It's a party block, WHY THE **** NOT?
There's nothing wrong with making simple, "hello world" mods - but either put them up as examples, not as releases, or just keep them to yourself. Hell, I was talking to a guy on irc earlier, spent a good 20 minutes helping him with his block, and he didn't want to release it at the end because he thought it was to simple. And his used ModLoader and had a kickass texture. There's just no reason to put up simple mods that take up an id and not much else.
