Any luck yet on the incompatibility with Optifine? The Opti author wrote on his thread
I sent a PM to the Millenaire author with what I have found so far. It looks like somebody (not OptiFine) is overwriting the items texture sheet with an empty texture with wrong dimensions.
I remember seeing a warning somewhere about villagers demolishing player-made structures within their bounds. Check the village map to see the land the village owns. You could also buy a plot of land to build on or buy a house. Think of it like a multi-cultural rp village server.
Hmmm, can you give me a couple of hints on how to do that, and Also if I can choose which land i want and how big my plot would be ?
Also regarding checking the village map to find out how much the villagers own,
They have seem to have taken over the entire swamp land. houses are every where, and they expanded 2 houses into the snow biome now.
Dont know how far they will go.

Yeah, this totally happened to me and my son just the other day, and we've been playing Millenaire for a while.
Inside the town capital building are signs you can right=click to see information on the village.
One of those signs will show a map, with local terrain and a reddish overlay that is the "danger zone" for NPC construction.
Anything ten block or so OUTSIDE that danger zone should be safe for construction Right on the edge is still dangerous, since buildings can extend beyond the reddish overlay.
As you get higher reputation with the town, you can purchase buildings/empty plots from the town leader. Once build you can inhabit/build/destroy whatever you want on that plot without fear of the villagers destroying your stuff.
I'm having the same issue. Does your game close out if you click on the village map? I suspect there might be something wrong with the building plans, but I'm not sure what the error refers to. I'm going to try to check the files and see if anything sticks out.
I checked a millenaire file in the mods folder and found this:
4.9.5 18-05-2013 14:42:22 ERROR: japanese:japanesegrove_B1: BBlocks size is zero.
I'm not sure what it means, but I'm almost positive it relates to my problem (Kodachi is the grove).
If you need anything else to help troubleshoot, just let me know.

It's easy enough to figure out what's safe and what isn't. By default it's 65 blocks from town center. ? You might someday want to change it to 75 so count 80 blocks from the center of town and build there.
I just ran into another bug in sadhu quest, I finished exploring the mountains, then went back to report, and got the quest... exploring the mountains.
Is there a chance that you could enable flags for building repair? maybe a wand or something to mark a certain area that needs repairs, because there have been instances where various Mo-creatures mobs have destroyed entire sections of buildings, and I have no idea how to repair them...

I'm just new to millenaire, and I just started my own controlled village and whenever I use the wand of summoning I always get this "1m S building clash" or something, please could someone explain this to me?

1 meter south is being occupied by another building. Move 1 meter north and you shouldn't have that clash unless there's a building to the north as well. Jeez, just experiment a little. You literally tried 2-3 times, didn't you?
IT'S GOOD I WANT IT. BUT ONE PROBLEM.
I INSTALLED IT AND FORGE BUT AFTER "MOJANG SPLASH ICON" THE SCREEN IS JUST BLACK,PURELY, AND I WAITED THINKING IT
IS LOADING BUT MAN I WAS WRONG.and so i can't use it.

@555, I am so sorry. I just figured out the building thingy. Thanks anyway.
@Zockt, I think you meed to give them the exact material in order for it to work.
@lost-soldier, wouldn't it better if you delete the 'version' file inside bin and force update minecraft? And next time make a backup.
The problem first started with Millenaire 4.9.0 on Forge 617, I believe, and it persists through MANY iterations, to my current Millenaire 4.9.5 and Forge 694.
It happens with JUST Millenaire installed, when I approach the central building on three of my upgraded villages around my grous bourge.
THe players receive a "Bad packet ID 2" message.
On the server, it simply logs that the player disconnected.
On the client, I have the following in my forge log:

I've lost another village to this bug. I'm going to have to pull this mod just to keep my kids from having their inventories reset when I delete their player.dat file.
Hey guys, I wanted to know if you could answer a quick question for me:
I started a new world which coincidentally, had 3 Hindu Villages close to each other. For some reason, the lumberjacks for all three villages simply...aren't working. They leave their houses, go to the grove, and go back home to sleep. The groves are overgrown, they are holding axes in their hands with the text "chopping wood", but the trees don't vanish, they don't collect lumber, and they don't deliver any resources. Its bringing the economy to a grinding halt.
I've checked this forum as well as the Millenaire bug report, and the closest thing I can find is advice to "change pathing to classic". I have absolutely no idea what that means. I have found no other solution to the problem.
Something else I discovered: Whatever trees they are planting, for some reason, don't drop any wood when I chop them down.
Any possible solutions? I would kill the lumberjack, but I'm unsure as to whether or not I should destroy the overgrown grove first.
@Long_Lost_russian_solider :
- clean MC,
- start game once (without any addons)
- add forge
- start game again (without any other addons)
- then add Millenaire etc.
- start game again
(optional: add optifine, last)
Make sure that the entry to the grove isn't blocked by a tree or leaves. At least it helped me a few times to remove the leaves my self so that the villager can access the chest. Hope this helps.
Does anyone know if the guards really go visit the towers and other buildings with the patrol tag? I have been playing millenaire for a long time and have never seen them do this, whenever they decide to patrol they just stand there holding their sword. I am wondering if this has just been overlooked or what.
When lumbermen are at the grove while you are chopping trees, they pick up the logs before you do as is their job.
try chopping trees in the grove when the lumbermen aren't around or they will grab 'em before you do
A question for Kinniken: can we add custom made world quests? I'm trying to add a complex quest line (probably doing something wrong) and whenever the chance comes up for the quest giver to have the quest the game crashes with the below error. There are no errors reported in the millenaire.log file, just the forge log. I'm going to continue testing and tweaking as I may have done something wrong, but if not hopefully the error below can help you.

The lumberjacks can easily enter and leave the grove. The only problem is that they stand in the grove with their axes out, text above their heads reading "Cutting wood", but no actual wood-cutting happens The chest is accessible and I personally stripped all the leaves off the trees. Any other thoughts? I'm so glad I have someone to bounce this issue around with
