If you don't know, there's a mod out already where it kinda takes COD Zombies and morph into Minecraft.
It's actually really fun and it's still in Beta 1.4 but still really fun.
So far there are only 2 maps out:
-Nacht - the original first Zombies map
-Last resort - an abandoned factory where you try to survive

Yeah this is pretty suspicious since there's already a topic for it.
And just putting this out there, cod kinda blows. I mean its basically like someone took a quake 3 mod and spent a couple million dollars updating it with new textures (though the models aren't much higher res lol). And cod zombies is especially weak... there are at least three mods for halflife 2 that do zombies better than Treyarch's poor attempt.
One in particular is zombie panic source. Now THAT would be cool to see ported to minecraft. It starts all humans and one zombie (whitey, the only white zombie, who does more damage has more health and has a 25% chance of infecting anyone he hits by default, more fun with 50% imo though) on a map with random weapons put in place. Survivors spawn all over, zombies spawn far enough from survivors that they've got a little time to barricade. In that game you push and knock physics objects together into barricades but for MC you could just allow the players to place only weak blocks (wood, cotton, etc) and allow the zombies to slowly break through them. Anyway each person who dies becomes a zombie, then they gnom up the rest to try to end the round and get some points. The zombies heal extremely fast, so if you don't use headshots they're about impossible to kill (that's the one shortcoming, don't think MC can track headshots?) because they can just duck behind cover and get their health back up to full. Resources are very limited and each new gun and bit of ammo you carry with you adds to your weight and slows you down (the panic part comes from the panic button, which throws away all your gear and makes you as fast as all the zombies but a sprinting whitey) and generally by the end of the game it's down to crowbars and frying pans unless you set the items to respawn during the match.
Now that's a fun zombie game. MC could do it excellently too, other than the headshot thing. I think the weight and semi-random item spawns could probably be worked out though, which is what gives it the real survival feel and the survival feel makes it a real zombie game. In CoD you're just playing serious sam with one type of enemy that happens to have a zombie skin, it's not a real zombie game just because you skin 'em that way The whole zombie scenario is about running, surviving, desperately scrounging resources and barricading yourself in. Not standing in the one corner that channels the flow of horribly simply pathing enemies perfectly, putting your crosshairs at neck level, and holding down the trigger till you have to reload, which is all that cod zombies ever did.
And you can't even replicate those numbers in MC either, which was the one impressive bit of it.
