Never. He made a post on his blog a while ago, stating how he would be updating everything to 1.9. As a result, he would not be updating any of his mods to 1.8. He has since moved on to 1.10.2, so even a 1.9.4 release is unlikely. Also, asking for mod updates is against the forum rules. Refrain from doing so.

So the statement "next supported version will be for 1.8" is pretty much guaranteed to be outdated.

I'd love it if IChun added the buttons(both the pedestal and floor)laser fields, gels, light bridges, excursion funnels, and cameras. I agree with your suggestion and I think it should be added to the mod. I have something to add about the floor button: It should be able to be placed on walls and ceilings, as well as the floor, since there would be excursion funnels if IChun adds these items.
I want to make it so that you can't put portals on stone slabs or coal blocks but it's not working. this is what I have:

Just found this mod for 1.7 it is amazing i love it. (gonna mention this bug that has probably already been mentioned but when ever i fire a portal gun at any mob the game crashes hoped this will be fixed in the future.) keep up the good work, i saw on ichuns website that it said something about 1.8.
The website has all the versions of the mod except the beta MC ones. Beta mods are fast becoming extinct. They need to be preserved! Please bring them back, especially b1.7.3 and b1.8.1.

I found a bug similar to this, except mine doesn't crash when I do that. Whenever I shoot portals under mobs, they just disappear and don't come back out the other portal. They might come out the other portal for a little bit, but then they just disappear.
@I-Chun Please add back the emancipation grills, the discouragement beam stuff, and the checkpoint block! Most importantly the emancipation grill and discouragement beam stuff because I'm making a test and I don't want to have to use securitycraft inventory scanners to replace emancipation grill, and the inventory scanners don't even do what half of the portalgun mod's emancipation grill does. Sp please bring it back!!!!
3 years and still waiting for that update which brings back Fizzlers, Lasers, and See Through Portals... last time i checked everyone looked pretty much alive.
I resorted to playing the 1.4.4 Version which had the old features, but i'm stuck with having no sound from the mod. Using MagicLauncher so the mod works. I completely wiped my .minecraft folder just to place the soundpack etc. in the the /mods/ folder and the /resources/ folder, still nothing.

I like the new mechanics(the way you actually go through the portal, electrical arches, and the portal firing animation), but I don't like the new models(no offense to the people who made them), and I think people should be able to choose whether or not to go with the old models and portal textures, just keep the new animations.

You realise it's still just a teaser, right? 97% of everything is not even implemented/complete yet, this is basically just a tech demo to get a glimpse of the new things to come.

However,
I do agree with the comments above that i think the models for the guns need reworked (yes i know this is still wip)
will there/ is there water mechanics
will 1.7.10 be benefiting at all from this fixes, new things, features etc... (i have hope but i am guessing the answer is no (not many mod makers i see backport))

I can't wait until the 1.7.10 version gets the thermal discouragement stuff and emancipation grids back on!

iChun if your listening why did you remove the Discouragement Redirection Cube , and can you add it back? And can you add the Emancipation Grill back?
