I had this compass working just fine with the default textures, but after a fresh jar file, reinstalling modloader and cjb minimap, followed by the HD patch, and then installing the correct class file my minecraft loads past the mojang splash screen and stalls at a black screen, no crash is detected and replacing with the original ai.class allows the game to run as normal. META-INF is not present. to be sure I had used the correct class file I did try all of the scanrange_15 files, but none worked, it should be the 32x32 textures. I really enjoy this mod and would love to keep using it, but I also want to look at something a little nicer than default, thanks for the work you've put into this I really hope I can get this resolved soon and I can get back to my mines =D

First of all, this mod is sweet :biggrin.gif: but when i left click with the compass out it makes me do a "jumpto" thing (single player command thing).
I have it working normally with diamonds and Mob Spawners showing but I cant seem to get the other minerals to show up. I have removed the // from the config file and put that in with the other files and one in the base minecraft folder....
running at 32x resolution with a texture pack (cant figure out how to get a thinner needle on the compass in your hand, but that isn't the problem)
Any idea what i may have done wrong? I scoured the readme and other instructions for any help and couldn't find any.
Lol, regarding my earlier post about left clicking with the compass making you use the jumpto command, I just found a dungeon using the compass and without thinking left clicked to try and dig down but instead went into the dungeon because of the command thing XD
same as most other mods, copy the contents of modloader into your minecraft.jar, it's a good idea to have a backup if you have already made changes to your jar file as any time you apply a mod you can break things.
if you need help with modifying your .jar file there are plenty of tutorials on these forums

Hm, the "gentle mod installation tutorial" got removed or something.
Anyways - for this mod, you need the one included BlockCoord.class and the ai.class fitting for your texture size. Once you have both, drop them in your minecraft.jar, not in any folder inside it.
Delete the META-INF folder if you havent done so already.
i had it working properly along with "item repair, creeper's burn, better grass" and Misa's Texture Pack.(w/o ModLoader)
then, i was just doing various steps to try to get better fps: changing priority in task manager, going full screen (f11), fiddling with in game video options, etc. and all of the sudden when i load my save file, i get hung up on the "building terrain" or whatever it says, where the loading bar stops about 9/10 of the way, then it crashes.
honestly, i cant think of anything that i did that would effect the game (and yes, META-INF is deleted [automatically by texture pack patch]) and every subsequent attempt to delete bin and re-install everything (Texture Pack first) gives me the same game-crashing result.
THEN, i see an earlier post with a link to an installation tutorial in german, and he's installing ModLoader first. so, i guess to make a long story longer, my question is if it requires ModLoader???
any help or insight is greatly appreciated. thanks.

Excuse me for being stupid , but the txt file says to place findercompass.cfg in .minecraft and read it,... with what software does one read it?
No, actually, i don't. You must have some sort of software installed that lets you read it, i must not.
