Long story: I installed PropertyReader and More IDs in order to run your mod. They installed fine and MC still ran. I then installed your mod, and as I said, MC black-screened, then crashed after about 10 seconds.
I tried running it multiple times, just make sure that it wasn't working.
I deleted the jar, re-downloaded, and installed the aforementioned mods again, and even inserted your "modMagic" folder into the jar, and MC ran just fine. The problem came when I installed your .class files: black screen and then crash.

Crashes on startup after a 15 second black screen. Meta inf deleted, started with a clean bin folder, put in the three mods it depends on, and drag/dropped everything in this mod (except the readme, which isn't helpful at all)..
Anything I'm doing wrong? Sounds like a cool addition, though.
DAMN 502 ERRORS
ok im sorry if this post somehow gets reposted but i need help with making this mod work, i have the following mods:
modloader(with grass fix),more ids(10),minimap,xray,plastic craft,planes v2, airship,arrows(risugami),ingameinvedit(not toomanyitems invedit),turbomodel thingy, and propertyreader
Quit complainin, at least theres some magic added to minecraft rather than some kind of mockup from 3 other mods or even completly stupid ones like minecraft advanced's magic where you can only heal yourself or power a furnace ONLY.
Yeah, it's not even my thread and the Runescape comments are annoying me. Just shows how many lil'kids with limited gaming abilities troll the forums.
There is more than just one game with obvious, basic elemental runes. They're called elemental for a reason, if you can't figure that out, you managed to get online, now just find google, and search for "elements"..You'll figure it out eventually.
More on topic, nice mod..I'd give you some diamond, and an even better rant about how terrible this generation is..If you're willing to update it.

I think the current version of this mod only works on 1.2. If not, it'd be cool if the mod creater would post better instructions, or, any instructions for that matter, to help anyone having problems.
it says it works with 1.3_01 but still i think it has to do with a block id problem or item id problem
but i am willing to believe that herobrine could have messed it up, lol just kidding
The mod is working now, thanks for fixing the crash. But the images, atleast for Magic Essence, aren't showing up..It looks like a light blue block with "A I" written on it.
I'm not sure if it's me or not, but there appears to be a bug with strike altars that I found due to mass creation of runes (yes, I do inventory edit...). It would seem that when you recharge it with magic essence that it remains dead. Not confirmed with any other altar, I know fire works but I've not tried air/water/earth. Just figured I'd let you know, but then it could be me.
Edit: Confirmed (for me at least) air, water, and earth recharge fine.
Edit2: Another possible graphical error, on the charged altars there's a magenta layer that looks like magic essence.

i think when i get done learning java and can create a good enough mod that at least 10 people will like, i might just go into repairing other peoples bad(black screen, crash, or buggy) mods and post a fix on their topic or pm them the fix to post it up at least
i think it might just be a good idea (mabye a little on the hard side) but i think i can pull it off once i get done learning java and have at least got some knowledge in modding.
unless you dont need a whole hell of a lot of knowlegde in java i might just learn how to make mods if anyone wants to help me learn or knows anyone that can help me learn.

Thanks, I was wondering why the OP still referred to installing the dependencies in version 1.2_02.
It wasn't a completely stupid mistake, however, as the One Stop Mod Shop linked to this topic saying that it was updated for 1.3_01.
