I'm getting an odd display too except birch and hickory are purple squares and the pine is the mystery block texture.
Only mods i have installed are modloader, too many items, and optimine
Left to right: Birch, Hickory, Pine
Yep, you're totally right. If use modloader's oi.class then everything works fine, however if you use optimine's oi.class then you get a glitch similar to the one above. :happy.gif:
a.) Does using ModLoader's oi.class instead of Optimine cause Optimine to stop working?
a.) Why the heck doesn't Optimine have a comatibility patch available? The lazy scrub. [/irony]

Optimine still works when using modloaders oi.class :biggrin.gif:
This mod is so simple, yet so incredibly game changing for those who like to gather a **** ton of wood and plant entire forests. I have a giant open tundra area near spawn with zero trees, and around it is all kinds of pine an birch tree forests. I plan to make the entire tundra ( over 1000 blocks big) a beautiful mix of pine, hickory, and birch. Thanks a ton!
(ps, I'm totally calling default wood hickory for now on)
ya sorry just got this mod and the new mod loader the game works fine with just mod loader but when i put in this mod i get a black screen this is not my first time installing mod in minecraft and i start with a clean bin. i install it in this order mod loader-> Varietal Saplings.
Hey, I noticed that varietal saplings doesn't work well with other mods, and not to be offensive or anything but it looks terrible. you should release the source code, and maybe just recolor the default sapling sprites to fit well with the environment and their parents (i know most of us do that anyway(or at least me o_o)). Other than that your mod is very well done and very useful.

im trying not to be too much of an asshole... besides theres other parts i didn't talk **** about. at least the mod works half way. better than some other mods...
Wow, I commend you on the great work, I even purposely tried to break this mod by using a default minecraft.jar and the saplings just turned back into regular saplings with a damage bar, so the game didn't break. great work.

See the square outline: This sapling was planted before installing the mod.
So I have at least 2 different saplings: one's texture is mapped to fire, the others isn't mapped to anything!
Halp please. :3

Place the saplings folder into your Xaiwaker Pack zip. That's it, no need to alter your Minecraft.jar!
