New hearts over old hearts, but with a different color (so only 1 row of hearts)

A suggestion on how to do it in the way Darksiders would. There would be two rows, one would be for hearts and the second of different colored hearts that would each be another row of hearts. Here is an image. The skulls above the bar are other bars.

And indeed, an option to start with only 3 hearts :biggrin.gif:

ok got it wasnt working with my texture pack for some reason
hmm now how to add pic o_o

Edit: When i reentered my world its doing it again xDD

Edit 2: The full hearts done even have a sprite now o_o

Since you are using a texture pack, it overrides the default game settings (with the items.png) if you switch to default. you will see it. Once I make it mod loader compaitble you wont have to worry about ur texture pack.

Ohh, I think armor enhancement would be fun.

Maybe it could be like Monster Hunter, where you have to find "armor spheres" to upgrade it. It could be a light blue ore (less...bright than diamonds) for a basic one, or a green ore for an advanced one. This ore has to be smelted down, then crafted with the armor to upgrade is durability. Like so:

Where iron = the armor piece, and diamond = the smelted sphere. You must upgrade armor with a basic armor sphere before upgrading with an advanced one. Armor that has been upgraded by a basic sphere has a slight blue tint to it, and armor upgraded by an advanced armor sphere has a slight green tint to it.

no i already did that and i got it to work

That's not the point of this mod. This mod is to have an additional goal the player can go out and meet. Putting infinite health takes part of the fun of the game (for some people).

Really? that shouldn't be happening. I edited the code for awhile just to fix this problem and tested it.
edit: did you consume the heartcontainer? and could you set it on peaceful to see if it heals above 20? (or use a bacon)

yeah i was on normal when i died
i switched to peacefull and even hurt myself to see if that would heal me
but it didnt
and yes i consumed the containers

Yeah so I will be working on making the the maxHealth save after you die (funny bug, I tested this a loonng time ago but whatever I changed must have affected this) and then mod loader compatibility later today!!

when do you suppose the bug will be fixed?

and if you make it where on hard you lose your extra hearts most people will just switch to normal if they;re close to death xD
