That looks awesomely beautiful already, man! What a difference it makes to the landscape.
I know you're probably going to get snowed under with questions, but how does this work with the 'Better Grass' mod?
Many thanks for working on this, and so quickly too!

Awesome! Now I can actually mow my lawn!
Lol! I actually play Minecraft to get away from mowing the lawn! :biggrin.gif:
Having to manage your civilised areas to keep down the flora as well as the fauna is seriously mindbogglingly far out! Whose going to make the first lawnmower mod though? :biggrin.gif:
I noticed that too, hahaha, Just won't be using biome terrain mod for a while. It really did make me laugh though. There's a perfect cross and midpoint where the snow doesn't go.
to bad this heavely clashes with biometerrain, when you make a world everyhting is always ice desert and around each chunk are lines of sand and if you stand on them the sky turns red @_@.
(if you use this and the biome terrain mod, satan will posses your saves in short)
Ohh that's what that is? Even before this mod I noticed that. Perfectly straight lines of the default coloured biome grass, and the second you step on it the sky turns an eerie red. It's really strange lol.
Anyway, on topic. I absolutely love this mod! The effect this has on the look and feel of the game is just awesome. I'm definitely keeping my eye on this one, I can easily see it being one of my 'must use' mods It would be 100% perfect if at some point it worked with the biometerrain mod though :biggrin.gif:

Good News! It should work now!

New Update! Version 02
I totally revamped this mod and made the tall grass part of the actual grassblock, instead of a unique one. This should make sure that saves do not have to be lost when the mod is un-installed.
Also, this mod does not modify any chunk loading classes, so it should be compatible with biome terrain mods. I don't have any installed, so I can't say for sure. But I'm sure I'll hear about it if it is not!
I can't see the grass T~T. I copied the grass sprites onto my textures, but still no dice. I know they are there, cause I see the little fraction of an outline.
How does it work with the BetterGrass mod? I can't do without that now and I really want this mod too! :smile.gif:

I love you both! I pretty much can't play with any texture pack other than Steampunk, and I love playing on the over the top worlds the biome terrain mod generates, so this is awesome news :biggrin.gif: I have the same question as Glimmar though, is this compatible with the BetterGrass mod? Keep up the amazing work ej
VERSION 3 IS LIVE!! viewtopic.php?f=25&t=100771
I fixed some bugs. Added Mowing with hoes. Grass grows shorter in snow.
Have fun guys! This is basically complete.
up next.... lily pads on lakes!
keep the suggestions coming!
note: sorry, for those of you who downloaded v02, it was not actually correct, it was v01 in disguise. I made a mistake, so nobody actually got to try v02. Anyway, v03 is the new version now, so its in the past.
How does it work with the BetterGrass mod? I can't do without that now and I really want this mod too! :smile.gif:
I'm not sure. My mod only changes 3 classes, RenderBlocks, BlockGrass, and ItemHoe. I would suggest just trying it out. Let me know if it works! I may try making a compatable version.

I got the '2D Wild Growing Grass' mod to work with my version of the grass:
Unfortunately I can't get it to work with the 'Better Grass' and 'Ambient Occlusion' mods. As soon as I install the files for the Wild Growing Grass mod I lose my two favourite mods. If I then try to install those mods again, I end up with a black screen when I run Minecraft!
Don't get me wrong though. This is one fantastic mod. It works with the different biome types and is coloured appropriately. Also stand in the landscape and literally watch the grass grow and interact with things like torches placed on the ground (it destroys torches when grass grows on the same patch of dirt) or seeing mobs frolicking behind layers of long grass is quite beautiful. Having to cut the grass when it gets too long is a brilliant bit of interaction and I can envisage having a reason now why we'd have to construct cobble or gravel paths, just to keep the grass down in those areas we frequently walk. I just hope it can eventually work with the BG and AO mods. I'm really torn here! :sad.gif:
Another observation is that it's better to be on the same level as the grass, or looking up a slope, it's really very picturesque. Looking downhill or vertically down is less convincing, only because it looks so good from the other vantage points.

That looks great Glimmar. Any chance you'll release a version of your pack that's compatible? I'd love to give it a whirl. I agree though, choosing between this mod or AO and BG is a tough one. I made a failed attempt at making the TallGrass mod compatible with your pack earlier (I suck with GIMP, couldn't get the colouring to work lol). BetterGrass still worked for me but it used the default grey biome grass colour.

Could someone make a paintry grass (dark green?)
Also, did you fix the v1 bug.
Sleekcraft! Check it out!

However, do you think you could make it compatible with Lightstone Torches?
Thanks in advance and keep up the good work!

Could anybody that has created the grass textures for a 64x pack please share their grass texture for this mod.
I'm running a modified 64x texture pack, and just resizing the grass textures looks really really bad.
Thanks,
Again, great mod, really loving it. It helps take away the overly blocky look and introduce a bit of variety to the scenery.
