Piece of junk! This is one of the most popular mods for minecraft and the guy just abandons it. Its like Microsoft just shut down for no reason. He could have just let someone else take over. But nope, too much work apparently.
Is it against forum rules for me to post a 1.4.6 update to this mod? I wrote it up for a mod of my own, just wanted to check before I put it here and get myself banned accidentally :<

As long as you have permission form the maker of the mod, It's OK. Scotty hasn't made a single post since august so.. I wouldn't get my hopes up if I were you.

You have to understand SDK's point of view, because he must have a lot going on in his life. It's NOT like "Microsoft shutting down for no reason," because that is an entire company with fallback workers. This man is doing all his services for free with his own time, and something must have come up that forced him to stop. His copyright section states "This mod is provided freely and may be decompiled and modified, either with a decompiler or a bytecode editor."
This situation is not the first of its kind. Remember The Aether? Equivalent Exchange 2 is also discontinued. And what about Single Player Commands, on the verge of becoming opensource and discontinued by the original author?
If you want this mod updated so bad ask or hire a modder to take over
I know it is like 5 versions late but take my advice, stop spamming and try
This mod shall live once again.

Im sure there are people who can port it to 1.4.7; but this guy wants it to be scrapped apparently.
Are you stupid or what? The mod isn't updated you would know if you could read. Why did you create an account to say that? If it worked everyone would be jizzing everywhere.

Don't always believe all the quotes you see on the internet.
Man, I hope someone cracks this. This was the only good gun mod I could find, everything else functioned basically like a slightly different bow. I love the ability to actually RELOAD a gun.

It also means he's unlikely to object.
If someone were to claim they have permission from SDK, the forum mods here would have no way of knowing whether that's true or not if the original mod dev no longer communicates.
In other words, they aren't going to start banning people who link to self-updated mods unless they KNOW that person doesn't have permission. So updating ModLoaderMP and posting it here is probably pretty safe.
There are only two types of devs with abandoned mods: those who are happy to have someone else take over, and those who would prefer to see their mod disappear rather than let another dev touch it.
The second type deserves absolutely no respect, IMHO.
I assume SDK is actually one of the first kind, although he hasn't bothered to show it.
To all the devs wanting to take over, if a mod is genuinely and obviously abandoned, I say go for it.
