1. Delete the bin folder.
2. Redownload the bin folder.
3. Close it immediately. don't do anything else.
4. Open the minecraft.jar file with WinRAR program.
5. Delete your resource folder.
6. Extract everything to the bin folder.
7. Highlight everything in the folder, and move it to the WinRAR minecraft.jar
8. Close, and play minecraft.
I just tried it and it's great :biggrin.gif: I'm not seeing any shell casings, but that's the only thing I've noticed so far (and it could be something with how i loaded it).
It's a load of fun though. The desert eagle is perfect (though just for mobs, obviously haven't tried against players). The rocket as well is great. I'd say if the ak is gonna have so much recoil (which it should) then its damage should go up. The Deagle shouldn't be the PREFERRED gun all the time over the ak/mp5, and I noticed that for me it was because of much higher damage. Also the shotgun is all borked, but i assume that's the problem w/ it detecting multiple hits. Right now it takes forever even to kill a zombie. If there's not some way to fix that mebbe the damage shoudl be upped and the spread increased so its just a point blank crowd pleaser.
I don't really know how the health of the beasties compares to that of people. I've got a feeling these damage levels are gonna be too low for multiplayer. You mentioned the rockets needing more damage, is there any way you could simply turn down player health overall? Because it should only be a couple good hits to kill a person, especially considering your guns have more inaccuracy than you have to deal w/ in the average fps.
Anyway it was a blast and I'll going off to do another zombie/pig crusade now :biggrin.gif:

1. Finish the ammo cap please?
2. Can you make it so we can disable the types of items we don't want to use?
3. Once you buggify and finish your few last features, can you try convert this to SMP?

Heh I'd say go ahead and convert to smp before finishing features EXCEPT I doubt it would work currently what with the bows still being broken. But this is definitely gonna take up almost all my smp time once its on and there are some good servers for it.
I've used this mod for about two hours. All i can say is:
-Very good mod
-Makes night time in minecraft fun
-Gives you a different feel of gameplay, (Guncraft - not minecraft anymore (Kinda))
-But, to install this mod you cant use other mods and your saves with modded objects :sad.gif:

The same thing happened to me. My guess is i went to far from my spawn point, because i just nuked an island and my gun stopped working. i went to my base and my gun worked again.
EDIT: Dont delete and re-install the minecraft.jar, it will just consume your time. Hope it helped :]

I wanna remind you guys this is a very early release just so you can try it out, it doesn't work for server, it's not balanced (recoil, damage, etc...), and it will not work with any other mods. If you want it to work with your texture pack, you'll have to merge in my terrain.png and gui\items.png with yours. For the people having problems, I'll help the little I can:

I had the same problem but only after downloading the loledit thing. Dunno how that could mess it up, but i downloaded it and loaded my inv up w/ ammo and sentries. Placed a bunch of sentries and went thru the ammo running around killing monsters and pigs and sheep. Then I re-insterted that same inventory and none of the guns would fire. I haven't tried yet using some bullets made w/ the recipes instead of imported w/ loledit, but I'll give it a shot and see if thats the problem.
And yeah you already mentioned the problem w/ shotgun in a previous post (mebbe the previous thread). Will be nice if you find a fix for it :biggrin.gif: If so you should make an aa-12 shotgun for a sorta "god" weapon that server admins can put in for quest items or perhaps tournament prizes. Explosive and slug shotgun ammo choices would be nice as well in the future when more important fixes are in.
But yeah overall an awesome mod, and I'm really looking forward to trying this w/ some friends in smp when its possible. Would the current nonfunctionality of smp ranged weapons keep this from working, or is that something you could fix client side? Also, if you get smp version working before notch fixes this a removal of nametags for it would be nice.
And ditto what the guy said about sniper rifles. If you could add scopes, I would actually say just put in a remington 700 or some other popular bolt action and include craftable scopes of a couple different sorts (acog w/ 4x and sniper scope w/ 12x or so) and allow those scopes to be crafted onto all the weapons that seem appropriate for them. (make 'em require diamonds and metal parts and an iron ingot)
Would it be possible to make a point defense turret btw? We've already got some simple versions of these today (the israelis make a very nice one called hammer or something like that that fires out a concussive shell that destroys incoming projectiles/knocks them off course). I've got a filling that mass rocket barrages to destroy sentry turrets from range will become really common once this gets in smp, and the sentries have such short range that they won't really have any defense against it. It would be nice to see a laser turret (just to justify it using expensive resources, I know we don't really have compact laser point defense turrets yet and those all take up tractor trailers lol) that would cause airborne explosives such as rockets, grenades, and cannon-tnt to explode instantly upon impact. Would be cool to see it actually aim at the object and maybe fire a beam, but not at all necessary. It could instead just cause explosives within its range to go off at its speed (a bit slower than the turrets now I think, definitely slower than the rocket so ppl can overwhelm it if they splurge on explosives).
Construction might be something like this...
since it would have such utility it should be expensive, but it should also be possible for people to spend the resources and make their base secure against anything but a massive rocket barrage or well timed and synchronized attacks w/ grenades, rockets, and cannon. Not something even worth bothering with until smp version is imminent though.
Anyway, yet again a thousand awesomes. Seeing this thing was released made my day hehe
EDIT: One more addition to yet another wot in your tread (sorry but it really is a great mod and that tends to make me text spew) you coudl make the turrets so the fire at the current speed by default but will fire at full speed if loaded with ammunition. They'd be useless at full speed outside, but this would allow for beefier more intimidating turrets on the interior once the enemy had broached your outer walls and entered the lit area. Also smart raiders could knock holes in the walls to let in monsters and use up the loaded turrets' ammo before attacking. Just another layer of delicious strategy.
