Hey guys I just found out about mods and specifically this mod but I'm having trouble installing it...I just updated my Minecraft to the latest version and I have Windows 7. I get the general idea of the things I need but I really don't know how to do this, I can be kinda dumb sometimes...anyone with patience willing to help out?

If your really new to adding mods it can be confusing, but now days it is MUCH easier than it used to be. Just make sure your using the correct version of mods for the version of mincraft you are using. First thing would prolly be just to get Forge in stalled. Download mincraftforge installer and start up the game with just that. Then get Mocreatures and CMS for the same version of minecraft.
A couple warnings though. Mocreatures won't work with the newest mincecraft. Make sure you set up a minecraft profile with forge installed using Mincraft version 1.7.2. If you need any help, just let me know.
What kind of issues would removing CMS from the folder cause? Are they game-related issues or the requirement of going back and forth to the mods folder?
Thank you very much for your help.
game related issues, beyond the hassle of going into the mods folder all the time
you can just pick up another spawn controller mod if you want to try that
What kind of game-related issues? Will mobs stop spawning correctly if I temporarily remove it?
Maybe Dr. Zhark can just disable CMS for places like TF and The End since no Mo' Creatures mobs spawn there (at least not yet in the latter).
possibly, or you could end up with MOC critters where you don't want them as the internal spawner for MOC is far simpler than in CMS
or you could pick up one of the other spawner mods and see if they work better
My friend has Mo Creatures and all the required mods installed, but she can't join servers. She can play singleplayer fine, but when she joins a server, this happens: http://imgur.com/5DFQl2H
We tried joining other servers, seeing if that works, but she can't join and only I can.

Are the other servers running mods? It maybe because of that. If they arn't then I'm not sure waht could be wrong.
I have no idea, but it even happens when she tries to join the official mo creatures server.
You should see if she has the correct ports open on her router and see if turning off Windows firewall helps. But first I would make sure you are running the same version of Forge.
Well, I have got no answer in the Mob Spawner forum after 2-3 weeks and I decided to give it a try here and hopefully somebody could help. I've tried getting help with biomes o plenty and people have said that it may be this other mod so I'm gonna show it here too just to see. Appreciate the help! Here's the report. https://gist.github.com/anonymous/e62ef1efb87eee72c755

it is with CMS, but CMS is still currently beta for 1.7.2 and as such there will be problems

So can I run mo creatures without it? I don't care about control, I just like that there's a variety of animals and like the extra drops.
I've talked to the people with biomes o plenty and they say it's something with custom mob spawner that's conflicting and it's the issue.
I know it's buggy and is still being worked on, but would anybody know if the developer/developers are active or not so I can try something else other than waiting for the fix?

yes, you can use MOC without CMS, have been able to since 6.1.0

I do believe I have it now! I guess the important part I was missing was that it didn't work on the newest and to make a new profile...hehe...thanks so much though!

I'm having a lot of trouble here. In single player mode, I find these:
But when I log into my server using the same mods, these spawners are not available. Even if I try to give myself one of these Mo Creatures spawners, say a bear spawner for example-- say I type something like /i 52:7266 or /give Kuwoobie 52:7266, it will just give me a regular spawner.
Not only that, but I have been going nuts trying to figure out how to access this interface I keep seeing on Youtube videos:
I figured the must be some key assigned to access this interface, but no amount of searching online will tell me. Finally, one video out of about 9 videos about CustomMobSpawner finally mentioned that you are supposed to right-click the spawner to access this interface... I tried this, it does nothing.
What I am trying to do is place custom MoCreatures spawners throughout the map in my online adventure world. I will then use Forge NBTedit to make them spawn fully customized MoCreatures and vanilla mobs that drop custom named and enchanted items.
So far I can only do this with vanilla Minecraft mobs, because I cannot make mob spawners spawn MoCreatures mobs on a server. This is becoming quite a hassle as there does not seem to be any information about the spawners in the image above online anywhere.

that is not a MOC feature
that is from the spawner GUI mod, which is not a forge mod and is no longer compatible with forge
