hello does this run on Heyo's mod and the new updates?
The mod works with version 1.2.3_04 of the game. I'm not familiar with that mod you mention, but if it uses ModLoader and doesn't modify the gf.class it should run with no problems
So far, they hit hard, really hard. I haven't worked on the AI yet tho. I still have to finish the feet. Some people were asking for a big mob, there you have it :smile.gif:
I just want to say that you're doing an absolutely fantastic job with this mod. I love it. It's pretty scary having lions spawn like friendly mobs though (where there is torch light), since I end up having lions spawning in my garden connected to my house haha.

It does sound nice, although I wouldn't make them that aggressive during the daytime. I'll add that to my long list of things to do. I'll be doing other stuff first: finishing the ogre, doing the werewolf, a horse, a fox and then an aquatic crature

Most likely it requires an update for 1.2.4, I'll have to check that later tonight.
This mod works with the lastest update (30 Nov 2010.)
Also great Zhark! Sure, you could make them less aggressive during the daytime. I just think it'd be nice to have them not attack you at all during night, it'd be a nice change. They can be sleepy kind if thing, lol.
As for horses and werewolves (assuming they're next), do you have any special properties in mind? Werewolves would be humanoid and could jump at you like spiders maybe, and horses would be great as mounts with a 10% speed boost or something.
Also an idea for Ogres, if they're going to wield a club or something, they could drop sticks. If they're just a cold hard smack, they could perhaps drop smooth stone lol. Or you could go with brown mushrooms.
How'd you get it to work with the latest version? All I get is a black screen.
I really like this mod, but there is one thing that bother me.
The skins of the mobs are way too detailed. Just look at a pigs face and then at the lions one. :sad.gif:

I'm actually going to be reskinning some of these for my texture pack, also, but I'm still not sure about their look. mob texture packs are kinda weird and disjointed in multiple image files, so im thinking on the best angle of attack, first.
my skins will be more snes rpg-ish, and I prob won't tackle these mobs until after I finish all the primary mobs.

Food for thought:
Goblins
- Slightly smaller than the player (or same size, just give it a bigger head lol.)
- Throw stones (skeleton as basis.) Faster than arrow shots but only hit for 1 heart.
- Aggressive during the day (within 10 blocks), Passive unless provoked during night.
- Spawn in packs of 3-5
- Do not burn in sunlight.
- Health: Slightly more than skeletons.
- Drops: 1-3 Flint

Great idea - i like the daytime threat angle and the low damage.
racoons - they would do 1.5 hearts of damage and drop red or brown mushrooms. they would only spawn and be aggressive at night. they would drop red and brown mushrooms. they would have 5 hearts
unicorns - if you do put in horses, put in unicorns too, please. they would spawn in forest and plains biomes. make them drop unicorn horns which will make a weapon or tool that's 2 times stronger and 1.5 times faster than diamond. the unicorn can jump 10 blocks high and they do 5 hearts of damage, but they wont attack you until you attack them. they will be extremely rare, it'll spawn at 1/250 the rate of pigs. i'll make a mod for unicorn tools, and i'll also make it so that the horns spawn in dungeons. they would have 15 hearts
grim reaper - the same spawn rate as unicorns, they spawn in all biomes, and do instant death when they touch you. they would drop a steel hoe and a golden apple when they die. they will move a little faster than the player. they would have 15 hearts. it would look like the skeleton in the game, except with a black cloak. it burns with sunlight.
mummy - spawns in desert biomes. drops medical tape (ill make a mod) which heals 4 1/2 hearts. it would look like the zombie except it has tan tape all over it's body, with parts where the tap is sagging, revealing black spots. it would have 9 hearts. it burns with sunlight. it deals 3 damage per hit
vampire - spawns in all biomes. drops a beaker full of blood (any recommendations for what it does?) it has the 11 hearts and heals whenever it hits you. it burns with sunlight. it deals 3 damage per hit
kraken - a sea monster. has 20 hearts, but only does 2 hearts of damage drops. drops a random ink (viewtopic.php?f=25&t=81297&hilit=teleport+scrolls).
racoons - they would do 1.5 hearts of damage and drop red or brown mushrooms. they would only spawn and be aggressive at night. they would drop red and brown mushrooms. they would have 5 hearts
I think the Racoons is a good idea, but if they were common, and were like the zombie pigmen, as soon as you hit one, the whole pack comes after you.

I like this idea, if you could attach a saddle to it it'd be even better

I Think that this might be a bit over powered, if it was really slow and not only burnt with sunlight, but also was repelled with torch light then it'd be a bit more balanced

Seems a bit redundant, it's effectively a zombie that drops medical tape.

Make them very rare, able to fly, repelled by light and it'd be good. The beaker of blood can be used to make a version of bloodstone that repels all mobs.

If it was a whale then sure, but squid seems a bit difficult with all the arms and such.
i loved the new monsters hehehe , but ... how you guys mod this game ? i didn't found anything about it... (only some tutos that was pretty basic, you know: more life for you etc...)

Actually - I think that all of the skins that DrZhark has made are just excellent! I wouldn't change them at all and I use a lot of texture packs.
